our life saturday august 17 2013 park city refund so this morning we decided to head up to park city for a little alpine slide adventure it was a little strange riding up the canyon because we were missing kendra so we got there and while jake megan and i were in line buying the tickets jonathan and nicole got a strawberry smoothy then they disappeared when they came and got in line with us they said that they took the smoothy back because it had absolutely no flavor we waited in line to ride the ski lift to the top of the mountain the weather was perfect with some really nice cloud cover we had fun visiting on the chair lift then we got our sleds did the walk to the slides and waited in line we got up to the front and were putting our sleds on the slide when we felt a couple rain drops they immediately closed the slide because if it gets wet it is to dangerous they said the slide would be closed for at least an hour they told us that we could walk down or that suburbans would come and pick us up we were not able to ride the lift down because of they were on a lightening hold so jake megan and i hiked down the mountain and jonathan and nicole rode in the suburban once at the bottom we got a refund for the alpine slide after this we went to a fun little hamburger joint we all ordered and then everyone started getting their food even though i was the first to order i did not get my food while we were waiting jonathan read kendra s email to us from his phone hmm a smart phone is starting to look a little tempting finally out came my food it was completely charbroiled black and not in a good way i ended up getting my money back i had been eating the kids fries while i was waiting so i wasn t that hungry as we were getting into the truck to drive home jonathan asked so what else do you want to not do it actually wasn t all that bad we had a good time just being together and it ended up being a pretty inexpensive outing posted by jennybug at 7 00 pm 1 comment saturday august 10 2013 time is flying i woke up saturday morning and i said to jonathan can you believe kendra has been gone 3 days people weren t kidding time really does fly i m not sad just a little emotional posted by jennybug at 10 40 am no comments wednesday march 27 2013 lacrosse in colorado march 14 17 megan had her lacrosse tournament in colorado springs they lost the game on friday 6 to 8 saturday they won 11 to 1 the best part was that uncle dale aunt jacynthe ethan and amelia came to watch it was super cold and we were all really glad that we didn t get rained on after the game we all went to lunch after lunch it was time for some colorado adventure we went to the cave of the winds this was a 45 minute tour and very interesting our whole group made it out of the cave amelia ethan megan after the cave experience we drove through garden of the gods this was a beautiful drive jonathan and dale did enjoy teasing me as i took pictures of the kids on one of the large rocks you know kind of like the ones that we are surrounded by at lake powell hey you have to live in the now i have to admit it was a little humorous seeing so many people around one rock after this we drove back to dale and jac s and spent the night we had a nice visit and are so grateful to have family posted by jennybug at 10 42 pm 1 comment monday march 25 2013 creme bru slurpee so my very favorite dessert is creme brulee i love it so last week in colorado when we were visiting dale and jacynthe she showed me a recipe for creme brulee it didn t seem too hard although one of the needed items is a butane cooking torch jonathan said not to bother that i could use his so last night i made the creme brulee it wasn t too difficult kendra had to leave to go back to college so even though it wasn t set i sprinkled on the bakers sugar this is a fine sugar used for baking i only found this out on saturday as i was purchasing the ingredients then i proceeded to torch it this is really fun and brought out the pyro in me monday morning i went to the fridge to check on my delicious creme brulee so sad it is not set so if anyone is in the mood for creme bru slurpee come on over i have six possible options of pictures to post i ran across this little precious gem do you see my witchy shadow profile on jonathan s red shirt does this get you a little bit excited for halloween ha ha ha he he he cackle cackle now i am not in the mood to blog about the cruise maybe i will go look at halloween pictures and do some october blogging october is so busy yet i have so many fun things to blab on about this is our cruise ship we tried princess this time did you know that the love boat was a princess ship they serve this delicious love boat dessert and show love boat reruns on the t v in serve in the minnesota minneapolis mission she will leave to the mtc on august 7 2013 i am really excited for her after i had kendra and jake the sister missionaries needed someone to go on splits with them i was happy to volunteer we went around and knocked on doors and i loved every minute of it i remember going home and telling jonathan that i really wanted to go on a mission he told me i would have to wait i am so excited that kendra will have the opportunity to share the gospel with the people of minnesota her mission also includes parts of canada wisconsin michigan and the tip of every time we hear a car we look out the window kendra said i wish the mail truck played music like the ice cream man she makes me laugh if the mailman did play music the song could be i hope they call me on a mission her call did not come on wednesday so it looks like she will get it tomorrow she needs to go back to logan and jonathan megan and i are headed to colorado for a lacrosse tournament so it looks like she will be opening her call on sunday posted by jennybug at 1 30 pm no comments thursday march 7 2013 i can t sleep i can t sleep and i started looking at blogs then i went to mine and realized what a slacker i am i only did one post last year this makes me a little sad because i love to go back and read old posts blogging is such a fun way to journal i am still writing in my journal although the handwriting is not that great and the spelling is awful oh how i adore spellcheck so anyway i thought i would just write a quick little post this is mostly just for me so if by some chance you are reading this i apologize for my ramblings so much has been happening seriously life is just cruising by sometimes i wish that i could throw a flag out on the field and bring every to a halt unfortunately there is no pause and you can t rewind it just keeps going faster every day so all i can do is sit back try to relax a little and soak in every happy moment along with all the chaos that seems to occur daily kendra is in logan just finishing up her 2nd year at utah state she is working part time at rumbi she is taking a county swing class and she loves it she thinks that dancing is really fun she comes home every now and then and i just love it when she does she is going to try to come home next week because she is expecting a very important letter she has sent in her mission papers and is waiting to find when and where she will be serving the lord maybe this is why i am having trouble sleeping jake just got the little certificate saying that we can go pick up his eagle in the mail yea so glad that he finally did it he just finished up wrestling he is just starting up track he got his wisdom teeth out last friday this has been a challenge because he has had to go without eating popcorn which seems to be a staple to his diet he ate some yesterday at the movie we can only hope that a kernel doesn t get stuck in one of the little holes jake is going to graduate this year i just can t believe it megan is now sixteen she went to her first high school dance and also her first date bingham sweethearts she has her learners permit she can t wait to get her license as she races to finish up drivers ed megan started lacrosse and she really likes it we are going to colorado next week for a tournament this will be a lot of fun and we will get to stay with jonathan s brother dale and family megan really likes being over at the high school high school wow it is so hard to believe nicole is in 8th grade she is the only one over at the junior high she really likes school she stays busy with friends and likes to have something planned all the time nicole still really likes cheer and practices twice a week at macs she is competing in san diego at the end of april jonathan and i excited to go and watch her and have breakfast at kono s what the heck it is 12 52 and jake just came up stairs to get a bowl of cereal and he told me that i should be in bed because it is late man that kid really cracks me up he seriously does not require a lot of sleep or he sleeps in class well i better get to bed hopefully i will blog sooner rather than later posted by jennybug at 12 54 am 2 comments wednesday march 6 2013 old cheer shoes wow she really needed new shoes last week it was new beginnings for the young women they asked each parent to bring one of their girls shoes and talk a little about what she likes to do and spotlight her i went and pulled nicole s cheer shoes out of her bag boy was i embarrassed i couldn t believe how warn out they were we are definitely buying her some new shoes this week this is so typical of my youngest she just goes with the flow she does her own homework puts herself to bed reminds me of her ortho appointments and makes due with all the hand me downs one of my favorite nicole comments is when some one asks her is that a new shirt she smiles and answers no it was kendra s then megan s but it s new to me this is the second year nicole has done competitive cheering she loves every minute of it we are getting ready to watch her perform at nationals in san diego we leave april 19 we are hoping and it was freezing after the game i was telling her what a good game she played and that i couldn t believe how cold it was she said i thought you stayed in the car the whole time i told her no i was
