country the university of pittsburgh s department of biomedical informatics builds on a 40 year history of pioneering work in computerized clinical decision support and medical artificial intelligence the department s predecessors pioneered computerized clinical decision support today its faculty and students continue that tradition transforming vast complex biomedical data into actionable knowledge located in the murdoch building on the university of pittsburgh s oakland campus we serve as both an academic home and an informatics resource for the schools of the health sciences we are research our research spans five core areas clinical informatics clinical research informatics translational bioinformatics population health informatics and imaging informatics learn more education voices one of the strengths of the dbmi program is that the faculty does not treat you as a subordinate but rather a colleague with the potential to advance the science this certainly facilitated my
