the cross stitch now i need to sew the linen pieces together and add the specialty stitches last saturday i crocheted this owlhat for my friends 2 months old son and here is that sweet boy i finally got the chance to hold him but they live in denmark and are visiting iceland over easter i ve also been stitching the langsuir my all time favourite cross stitch project funi my dog trying to steal ufo tuesday in my icelandic cross stitch club i haven t been cross stitching much in the last 3 4 years so i m enjoying this a lot and finding my self pleasantly surprised when i go through my stash and find some treasure i managed to find 2 projects in my ufo s that i could finish quickly i finished one yesterday and made good progress in the other one here are some before and after photos kambgarn which i love and 4 mm hook i ve been working on this kría shawl on and off for a few months i m using einband and 4 5 mm hook i started this electric ripple blanket a couple of weeks ago i m using hayfield bonus aran and i don t really like this yarn but it s not expensive so i decided to use it anyway and 5 mm hook i made a few dishclothes more information on my ravelry page my cat max watches me carefully when i m crocheting he thinks he should get more attention my wonderful girls and our dog a little cuddle before bedtime my girls in their costumes for ash wednesday this year my finished this kría shawl more information here when i was shopping for the yarn i used for the kría i found this gorgeous silk and i just couldn t resist it videonight with my girls and my youngest fell a sleep in my arms she s so big now 7 y o so this doesn t happen that often anymore and here is my oldest with our cat that doesn t like to be held but he let her held him for a few minutes last week the pattern is from þóra heklbók but i had to change it a little bit since i was not using the suggested yarn or hook size yarn lama uld from strikkebogen hook 4 mm snowflakes from leisure arts booklet 3152 pattern 33 yarn mandarin heklegarn hook 2 mm winte s wreath doily yarn online filetta color 52 hook 2 mm right now i m working on 2 projects winter lace doily from leisure arts booklet 3152 and babette inspired blanket using léttlopi i m really itching to start a new big crochet project but i need to find something that i just have to make as soon as i decide what i will be making i will share it with you more projects from 2012 deibpia 11 janúar 2013 1 i did a lot of crochet in 2012 i will not be showing every piece here you can see it all on my ravelry page but i will show you some shawls christmas decorations and jar covers i made last year i made the shawl kría from þóra heklbók in 3 different color combinations the first one is mostly pink made from stash with einband on 4 mm hook i gave it to my friend dögg the second one is made from sockyarn no label on 4 mm hook i kept this one myself and use it all the time and just love it the third one is made from mostly purple lavender einband and 4 5 mm hook i made this for my mother and she gave it to my sil barbara i also played a little with the kría pattern and changed the shape of the shawl for that i used 2 variegated colors from evilla artyarn 8 2 and 4 5 mm hook i made a shawl for my mother the pattern is called eva s shawl and i used alpaca lace from cascade i held it double and 5 5 mm hook my oldest daughter asked me to make her a shawl from þóra heklbók the pattern is called rúða i used kambgarn and 3 5 mm hook and after that my youngest asked for a cowl from that same book the pattern is called capri katarína i used himalaya el örgü i̇plikleri everyday bebe rengarenk and 4 5 mm hook i made a lot of ornaments i m going to show you some photos but you can find details about yarn hook sizes and where i got the patterns on my raverly page and here are photos of some of the jar covers i made there is no pattern for them i just made something and yarn and hook sizes details are on my ravelry page now i ve shown you some or most of the stuff i made last year i also made a lot of different squares and some smaller projects i also participated in yarnbombing a bus for culture night in last august with reykjavik underground yarnstormers i will blog soon with what i m working on and other stuff i m back deibpia 8 janúar 2013 1 i don t know if there is anyone following my blog anymore since i haven t posted in more than 2 years i ve become totally obsessed with crocheting since my last post i m thinking of starting my comeback by showing you what i made last year my brother got married in july 2012 and my wedding gift for him and his wife was a hexagon blanket pattern found on lucy s blog the yarn is kartopu basak and i used 4 mm hook i didn t get a decent photo of the whole blanket with the border but here is one with a little preview of it for christmas i gave them 2 pillows i made with the leftover yarn from the blanket one was made with the traditional granny square for the other pillow i used 2 different designs for each side one side was made using a wool eater tutorial by sarah london and for the other side i just made a very common square also called granny square with a little twist i also made another blanket from one of lucy s tutorials at first i was just going to use scrapyarn and stash to make it but soon i figured out i just didn t have enough for it the yarn is mostly cotton various brands and it weighs 2 kilos early in the year i was feeling a little blue and needed some colors the cheer me up so i made a small blanket i named color therapy because bright colors cheer me up it s mostly made out of grannies and some square i had laying around the house the yarn is mostly cotton from various brands late in the summer i found a icelandic crochet group on facebook called handóðir heklarar and i participated in a cal there making yet another blanket ravelry link to pattern the yarn is cotton from söstrene grene and 4 mm hook i just love these colors in the fall i made hats for my daughters for the winter i used this pattern ravelry link my oldest got a purple one made from bulky lopi i handdyed in 2010 using 6 5 mm hook my younger one got a pink one made from trysil iglo with 5 5 mm hook i made a stash bag perfect for bigger projectes pattern found here yarn is red heart super saver and 5 5 mm hook i also managed to finish one knitting project dressy sweater for my youngest no pattern yarn is plötulopi and needle 4 5 mm and 5 mm so these are some of my projects from last year i made a lot more and will share that trying for a long time to get my stitching mojo back and when looking at freebies i just had to stitch this tiny cute stocking the finishing is not perfect but i love it quaker stocking freebie from
