i got this recipe from the our best bites cookbook and it can be found here on their blog the rolls were really good but i think next time i might use even less flour the recipe calls for 8 9 and i was up to about 7 5 but it still seemed a little too heavy for me i also had to cover them with foil at the end cause the tops were getting too done and the rolls had only been in for 12 minutes all in all they were really good and not that much work i mean they re rolls from scratch so yeah you have to use yeast and let them rise and all that good stuff but relatively easy so here are my world s best dinner rolls and yes that s real butter rubbed on top of these bad boys yum now who wants some rolls i think i still have about 16 left posted by melissa at 11 15 pm 3 comments labels bread recipe sunday april 10 2011 easter garland if you are looking for a cute easy and cheap way to decorate this year here s a great project i got this idea from one of my favorite blogs eighteen25 this is the post where she shows what she made i was reading it going hmm i wonder if my target easter eggs have those same holes i ran to check immediately and hooray they had the magic holes anyway so i threaded three eggs and then two large white pompoms i used the most giant needle i had in my stash of random needles i couldn t tell you what kind of needle it was it was just a giant one i used the super skinny ribbon to thread mine mostly because i was nervous that thread wouldn t be strong enough i don t think you need ribbon but regular thread probably isn t strong enough maybe use a couple strands of embroidery thread after i thread all the eggs and pom poms i just taped the loose ends to the top of my bookcase i really like it here s another shot up close and yes i know it s crooked i really wanted to get up close for you guys oh and if you love that easter printable as much as i do you can also find that on eighteen25 they do these printables for every holiday or at least they have ever since i started following them just a tip i am too cheap to pay for these to be printed at a photo shop so i just print them on a regular 8 5x11 sheet of paper then i trim an inch or so off the bottom and just about 1 4 inch from each side it fits perfectly in an 8x10 frame and i think it looks great p s i know my bookshelf cubby thing looks sadly empty but i promise i have plans to make it look pretty it used to be in my bedroom holding all kinds of random stuff and we decided to move it out here now i have to find a way to make it useful as a storage space but looks pretty at the same time yikes posted by melissa at 10 03 pm no comments labels easter sunday april 3 2011 easter wreath with peeps easter peeps just like christmas candy canes right funny thing is i hate peeps they are so disgusting but when i think of easter i think peeps so when i saw a tutorial in my woman s day magazine i knew i had to make it i really wanted to post a picture from the magazine website but its not on their site you ll just have to deal with my explanation instead so it was a wreath just like mine but it was on a dowel and planted in a cute metal pail with some easter grass covering the floral foam it was really cute next time you are in the grocery store waiting to check out flip through the magazine so you can see what i m talking about o this is what inspired my wreath reality is i tried but my wreath was to heavy and kept toppling over oh well i actually like it better my way ta da this was pretty easy to make all you need is a medium sized embroidery hoop lots of peeps i used about 25 total hot glue gun and sticks ribbon to hang optional some sort of spray sealant it works best to go ahead and glue your peeps on while they are stuck together in their little clump of 5 then add a little glue to the sides of the peep on the end so it sticks tight to the next set of peeps does that make sense make sure you attach your ribbon first i wasn t planning to hang it so i finished my wreath then had to rip off two peeps to put the ribbon oops good thing i had extra peeps if you choose to spray it with your sealant let it dry and hang it so everyone can admire your hard work if you make one i wanna see it p s before i saw this magazine i had never seen a peep wreath when googling pictures in an attempt to find the one from the magazine i found lots of different peeps wreaths square ones multi colored ones ones with the bunnies etc if you like the idea but not mine start googling cause there are many options so far i like mine the best o posted by melissa at 11 06 about christmas i love christmas and every year i am ready for it by the time halloween comes yup i am that girl o one of the things i know i need to do first are our christmas cards at first i was planning to order form costco but i really wanted something different this year i wanted to pick something and know that all my friends won t have the exact same card so after asking some friends and considering my own personal experience i decided to get my cards from shutterfly if you have never used shutterfly before you are missing out the website is so easy to navigate and the quality of products is amazing i have always been impressed with the quality of shutterfly s prints and photo books and after talking to friends i have learned that the cards are just as amazing i am so excited to get these cards but first i have to pick which one i want there are so many to choose from i really like that this one has a simple logo and has so many spots for pictures i like to show the boys throughout they whole year not just one christmas picture here is another cute one with multiple pictures i really like the green and that is shows the year for those of us who save them it s nice to not have to guess which year its from o i thought this one was fun its like the best of both worlds the easy flat card but room to actually write a message plus i love the bright colors so if you are do all the addressing work for me posted by melissa at 11 54 pm 1 comment tuesday october 19 2010 ikea table redo ok i am so excited about this project i love it in fact i should be cleaning but instead i am going to share this with you so pretend like you like it ikea kids table turned super awesome kids table here is what it used to look like ugly wood that has been colored all over and plain boring white top don t mind the breakfast of champions there daddy is responsible for that one o look at that bad boy now woo hoo i love it we took it apart and spray painted the wood pieces antique white andy painted the top with chalk board paint and asked me to figure out what to do with the chairs silly man thought i would pick a color and paint them when have i ever done anything the easy way o the chairs were actually extremely easy before putting the chair back together i padded it with a few sheets of quilt batting hot glue then i cut my fabric positioned it in an attempt to keep the lines straight then flipped the seat bottom over i just pulled the fabric tight and attached it to the bottom using a lot of hot glue i really like hot glue put the chair back together as normal and voila a comfy padded chair to go with their awesome new chalkboard table the boys think it s awesome and so do i supplies and cost original table and chairs set 19 99 2 cans of spray paint
