photographing melissa and scott out in the rockies at rafter six guest ranch what a great group of family and friends they have despite a fairly bitter wind they toughed it out and we had a chance to was a great way to spend valentines day with a great couple who just know what love is we had a fantastic time despite a bit of cold weather during the shots outside a really moving ceremony with just incredible wedding of heather and dave i personally cannot think of a nicer and more gracious couple they are so obviously enamored with each other and have such a cool sense of their place in the edward cool my favorite thing i have been a photographer all of my grown up life and have photographed over 800 weddings so far i love traveling and experiencing new places meeting new people and learning as much about the world as i can i have been married for almost 9 years and have two amazing boys aged five and one i play hockey ski when i can and generally like a good party i try to take each day as it comes and don t usually get to stressed out about life to be honest i m pretty much living my dream dwf how did you become a wedding photographer edward i was in college studying photojournalism and ended up mentoring with a successful studio i worked doing all kinds of odd jobs for them including assembling albums and prints to photofinishing and selling i worked towards buying my first medium format camera and by the end of that summer i was nervously shooting weddings on my own i never thought that would be my career focus but the more i did it the more i fell in love with the process and the people dwf who or what inspires you as an artist edward so many people have influenced me as an artist including monte zucker yervant joe buissink and jerry ghionis on the wedding scene i love jesh de rox s philosophy of life and i am also drawn to the fashion work of richard avedon and the weirdness and genius of david lachappelle i appreciate art wolfe landscape and natural work a great deal as well i think you can always learn from others no matter what level you have achieved in your own work i am really influenced by life and the intricacy of relationships between people which is why i am so drawn to weddings no other single day ties the multitude of relationships people have in their lives together like a wedding dwf if we needed a photographer today why would we book you what makes you unique edward i always try to make my focus relationship based that means i really try to get to know my clients very well so that i can bring out the truthiness in their relationship thanks colbert i shoot all of my weddings with no time or location limits so that i can tell the entire story i am easy to get along with and have a lot of experience in wedding photography i bring a lot of passion to what i do and i really do want the very best for my clients dwf if you had to pick a favorite tool of the trade what would it be and why edward it is a bit cliche but my favorite tool is light it really guides everything about my photography and i try to use it as creatively as possible every decision i make about my lenses flashes or otherwise is made based on the light in the situation dwf care to share your favorite photograph and tell us a bit about it edward this is always changing but my favorite photo right now is called life in balance it was created during a bridal session right before christmas and i feel it ties the mood of the couple the light and compositional elements together very well tomorrow it may be something new dwf how
