people in discussion the following is a closed discussion of a requested move please do not modify it subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer s talk page no further edits should be made to this discussion the result of the move request was not moved wikipedia s definition of north america includes more than just the three countries of the us canada and mexico plus there s template americas topic for the full americas i see no reason to keep this move discussion open any longer closed by non admin page mover skarmory talk contribs 17 58 5 september 2023 utc reply template north america topic template the americas topic template the americas part of south america is listed in this template for reference north america shows and lists the parts of north america jonesey95 talk 15 57 29 august 2023 utc reply template americas topic already exists and covers the full americas cmd talk 04 08 30 august 2023 utc reply oppose see north america countries dependencies and other territories all the areas currently listed on the template are commonly viewed as part of the continent of north america this continent also includes greenland the caribbean and central america the americas generally refers to both north and south america but since a template americas topic already exists perhaps a merge discussion should be started instead zzyzx11 talk 04 41 30 august 2023 utc reply the discussion above is closed please do not modify it subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page no further edits should be made to this discussion query on when some links are disambiguated and some are not edit latest comment 1 year ago 4 comments 2 people in discussion having just realised this is a non standard template syntax after trying to fix it is there a way to change this template so that its useage on topics that do not disambiguate subjects properly reflects it when others including the main topic do example saba is a disambiguation page while saba island is the one referred to here but this template s use in flags of north america means the link to saba s flag doesn t display right when on that page because it s at flag of saba not flag of saba island is there any way to work around this the bushranger one ping only 05 35 16 may 2025 utc reply i clicked a few links from the template you linked to and they all worked if you are still reporting a problem please give a step by step explanation of how to reproduce it jonesey95 talk 05 21 17 may 2025 utc reply the links operate fine but if you look at the template on flag of saba you ll notice saba in it is still a link if you compare that to how the template looks on flag of sint eustatius note that the link for sint eustatius is not there and instead is bolded text as it should be for a link in a navbox when you re on its page per wp bypassredirect the bushranger one ping only 05 24 17 may 2025 utc reply i see what you are reporting thanks for the details moving flag of saba to flag of saba island to match the parent article and disambiguate from a possible but unlikely flag of saba iran or flag of sabá would probably resolve the issue jonesey95 talk 13 21 17 may 2025 utc reply edit request 30 june 2025 edit latest comment 1
