refuse to let this violence achieve its aim the answer to an attack on pride is more pride not less protecting pride is protecting democracy that is why the etuc calls on the european union to steadfastly defend the right to freedom of assembly using all available tools the eu must unequivocally condemn any breaches of fundamental rights including restrictions or reprisals against pride marches and the criminalisation of organizers and participants lgbtiq rights are human rights and they are trade union rights no one should face hate or exclusion for who they are or whom they love
