s a lot i do like about teacher s role in ward the arc of vicky and lisa desperately trying to do damage control as they uncover the extent of his misinformation campaign is probably my favorite section of ward s second half the raid on his headquarters while it goes on probably twice as long as it needs to has a couple of my favorite action set pieces plus the moment of kenzie freaking out and being comforted by tattletale which was a stand out moment among stand out moments for those two characters the interlude showing teacher s hired army of thinkers slaving away for him ranks among the most disturbing things wb has ever written and his whole deal as a manipulator who strengthens people in ways that make them more effective largely within a collaborative context obviously puts him in place to be a good foil for vicky given all her own doubts about her motivations for joining breakthrough not to mention making him a good echo of taylor a lot of moments in his plotline are satisfying and the seeds were there for the plotline as a whole to be satisfying some pruning and a better bridging of his arc to the titans would be useful but the biggest thing of course would be to give him more of a satisfying plan and motive outside of entity produced shit stirring i know there s more there in terms of teacher wanting to prevent xyz but it s threadbare and most damningly doesn specific bb team members we see idk i ve just been thinking about the wards recently v1leblood answered i think arc 9 is good for worldbuilding and setting up characters we ll be spending time with over the next 15 or so arcs but i don t love it or anything i do like some of the wards specifically vista though that like is carried by rachel s epilogue and ward the wards as an organization though that s fascinating it started as a place where kid capes could exercise their powers in safe and sane ways only for the threat to the endbringers and the rise of more and more villains to effectively turn the wards into proper child soldiers no matter what the youth guard tries to do to soften the edges here and there they can t get rid of the part where kids put their lives in danger fighting for their cities or voluntarily choose to go to endbringer fights and it s so sad because it started with a noble goal and for a short time things were good but now you have capes like miss militia and
