monday 18 october 2010 at 8 44 am underwear that is these are a cinderella zwergen mode hotpants e pattern from the crafty mama s shop have you seen their new shop it s fabulous my girls always wear boy legged underpants so this is perfect for them this is the largest size for my 9 year old 128 140 with a small seam allowance added i think i should have added a more substantial seam allowance or upsized it slightly as it was too low in the rise even before i had to make a casing for the elastic so instead of a casing i added a waistband in the same comfy fabric as the underpants i ve not finished the bottom of the legs yet they have just an overlocked edge but miss a was very keen to try them on and since will not give them back to finish the gorgeous stripey knit fabric is also from the crafty mama s shop it is supersoft and really comfy perfect for this project miss a has declared them her most comfy undies ever so pat rafter eat your heart out 0 comments labels august crafty year one teacher at my children s school she taught both my daughters and i have to say i am a bit sad that she won t be back from maternity leave to teach my son next year but i am very happy for her and her partner this has been a long journey to parenthood for them and i wish them every happiness as they prepare to welcome their firstborn a daughter into the world in about 4 weeks time using all michael miller fabrics i ve made a burp cloth two bibs and a gorgeous pair of kimono booties with thanks to the free pattern on homespun threads the whole set below showing the bottom of the booties the burp cloth folded in half it is backed with terry towelling and has layers of flannelette inside of it below bib 1 has the white colourful fabric as backing with layers of flannelette inside of it below bib 2 is back with pink terry towelling with layers of flannelette inside of it below the cutest shoe pattern ever little kimono slipper booties i just need to apply snaps to the bibs and they mode pattern navy fabric is bonds fabric from cm and the other two are from sl about 7 years ago the fabric all has some sort of stretch in it but not a lot neck ribbing is from the church fete haul a few weeks ago i made this in the 11 12yrs size with no seam allowances i didn t have enough stripey fabric to cut the back piece out all in one go so i had to cut it in two parts and then overlock it together i was feeling rather lazy so i did a rolled hem around the bottom and also on the sleeves i have imogen s one all sewn up bar the rolled hem pics of that one to come when its completed 0 up yesterday so technically still a sunday sew up another three rille shirts from ottobre 6 2008 in sz 80 this time with seam allowances added the brown polka dot knit is from spotlight a purchase i made about 3 years ago it s really nice and the polka dots are raised so the material has a nice feel to it too the blue ribbing is from my recent church fete haul i wanted to use the blue and brown together after seeing a short sleeve top in brown polka dot in one of the ottobres a few years ago i thought it made such a great combo and luckily i already had the material before the otto issue came out see i had pre emptive good taste a close up of the top stitching i used my twin stretch needle for the neck and also the sleeves next rille tee is made up of a gorgeous pirate knit from my favourite place the crafty mamas shop i actually bought it to make something up for fletch when he was a baby ooops ribbing is also from my recent fete haul master e loves his dad s motorbike as soon as he spots it he is on his way over to it i think i have a biker boy on my hands what do you think next rille tee is in a heavier fleecy knit just perfect for a winter pyjama top super warm and sewjo has been on hiatus since march it s been a never ending battle with sickness household chores and well lets face it everyday life with 5 kids but sunday night i got the urge right about 9pm to sew something after scouring my otto s i decided on three pieces for elliott to wear out the very next day so i only finished two of the three things but in my defence it was after 1 am when i packed my gear away item 1 was the rille raglan sleeve tee from otto 6 2008 in sz 80 without seam allowance added it s a great fit too and so easy to whip up i will definitely be making more of these up for e s winter wardrobe item 2 was the peikko furry vest minus the fur though lol from otto 6 2009 in sz 86 i used a nice warm slightly ribbed winter white knit for this one i did not put the button and ribbon hook on i was going for an open vest look but it is slightly too big on him do i am going to add some snaps to the front instead photo s to come item 3 is the goofy tweed pants from otto 6 2008 in sz 86 i am using a nice red and grey tartan for these pants i ve only just added the pleats to the front i still have along way to go to finish them i am hoping to get them done tonight pictures to
