long steps for this last sunday this is the christmas so a ling for my quick quilt saturday group all done our orchard quilt group here in town had their christmas party this last wednesday we all had a nice time with games good food and time shared we all ways have it in november because it gets so busy in december it s a nice way to kick off the christmas season the empty set is mine wishing all of you a very happy holiday season sew sew sew flicsha posted by flicsha at 1 20 pm 2 comments tuesday november 3 2015 stuff i am doing i did 2 paper pieced hot pads as a sample for quilt group then i had scraps left so i did some improvisational piecing the 5 mug mats are just pieced as i could they were faster than the paper pieced hot pads i had fun doing them we are doing a sew a long for christmas in my swap and quilt group on the internet it will be 4 place mats when i get done each week we get instructions on sunday this was steps 1 2 3 i made jennie a one hour basket yesterday it turned out a lot larger than my basket did i am entering my turkey in the hy vee norfolk daily news decorate the turkey contest you can win 25 00 or 100 00 in gift certificates to hy vee i could use some groceries and last is my fabric layer cake roses and chocolate i got from my wonderful pen pal dianna for my birthday i love the fabrics in the pack i am going to have to make myself something lattes top done i did add a 2 1 2 border of white on white scraps after this photo i am going to put a red scrappy biding on it when jennie gets it quilted below is a throw for my df debby a christmas gift the next is a leaf block trade i did about 7 years a go i found it while looking for something else i had some time one afternoon so put it together i finished binding it last night dd jennie gave me quilting pj s for my birthday i have been making ornament s for the sew a long for any one that finishes their quilt the trees are for my family i make them a ornament every christmas the gift bags where the quick quilt sat project last sat we also made these in our orchard group a few years ago fast and easy to make it s getting colder here and i am not liking it but that s the way it is here are the fabrics i picked out i have a wide variety of white on whites but not enough of one to make the quilt so i went controlled scrappy for this project i pulled red and greens i liked so yes this is a christmas quilt but you could use any fabrics you liked i think it would be great in aunt gracie s or batiks or what every you like this is as far as i have got but give me a few days my art quilt group on the 15th of every month had numbers as the team this is my birthday month so i made my self a quick birthday card they said to use important numbers this year it s 67 i have been working on christmas gifts and other things her is a coca cola quilt for my aunt bonny she love and collects coca cola things keep quilting flicsha posted by flicsha at 11 21 am no comments thursday october 15 2015 this and that dd jennie made this pretty throw for her m other in law wanda s birthday this last sat it will be warm to snuggle under this winter in her recliner i am doing a sew along and these are the fabrics i picked totally scrappy yes but controlled scraps i got it cut today and it s ready to sew check back to see my progress well it s happy birthday to me in my 15th of the month challenge group the them was numbers well this is my new number i all most forgot about it until 4 00 this afternoon so it s a hurry up and get it done project this month i will try to do better next month may be yes i am getting old maybe not in my thing but my body tells me it every day it s getting cold tonight and maybe our first freeze or frost of the year i hope not that would be the
