a little bit of us december 2018 a little bit of us saturday december 29 2018 season s greetings yes i know christmas has now been and gone for another year but it s still not too late to do a little christmas creating before one packs up ones christmas creating goodies and you all know that i really could create christmas stuff all year round sometimes i even do well that s what i did today i had a play sometimes when you are crafting your creativity doesn t always turn out the way you think it might sometimes you need to add an extra layer or two to make it a happening thing it happens to all of us at some stage i really did have a play with this corked bottle first layer was black gesso i had a layer of crackle which didn t crackle all over like i would have liked it too but that s okay it did crackle in places i had a layer of paint and when shaking said bottle of paint which was actually a tim holtz dauber bottle the bloody lid went kapboom and went all over me me who was wearing a white printed sarong not a happy camper it was a quick mop up and into the shower to get the paint off me and an attempt to get it off my sarong wasn t overly successful though a layer of thick medium gel and then a sprinkling of stones twine tied around the neck of the bottle and then i have added foliage layers fibres true snow a poinsettia and then some more true snow well that s it in a nutshell just a whole lot of adding of different layers lots of texture going on love how it turned out to be honest most of the products i have used are little birdie crafts product on this bottle fingers on the keyboard and actually posted on my blog so i guess i am guilty of blog neglect not intentionally have been doing plenty of creating in the background at the moment i am time poor quite a few years my dad generously gifted me an extra hour a day and he reminded me of that recently lol but still life seems to get busier as i get older and at the moment there really are not enough hours in the day to do all that i should be and would like to be doing how does that work our children are now grown adults so i can t say that i am running around after them all day every day well occasionally when a problem arises and as a parent i get one of those strange phone calls mum how do i where do i type calls but they are few and far between these days because they are doing the adulting thing very well very well indeed for the most part but i will tell you that i have invested in a wee gadget and that wee gadget is taking up a wee bit of my time just quietly i now wear one of these yep a fitbit charge 2 thingymajig now adorns my wrist it s been an interesting few weeks i ve received all sorts of encouraging messages and these pictures have landed in my inbox they are badges my friends who knew i get buzzing sounds vibrations on my wrist periodically throughout the day if i haven t been stepping it out hourly yep 250 steps an hour every hour 9 00 am to 6 00 pm and oops just been buzzed be right back i m back i had to step it out my friends only a few steps and i scored have to say these wee messages keep me going keep encouraging me they really do and i am quite a competitive person even against myself so long may it continue i need to exercise i need to lose a shitload of weight that has gradually appeared and now just won t go away just like that i need one of those magical genies to help me but most of all i need to get off my backside and get some exercise so not only do i need to do those pesky 250 steps an hour i am encouraged to get at least 30 minutes medium exercise five days a week the old heart rate has to be up to whatever number for it to be classified as a medium strenuous exercise this wee gadget monitors my sleep patterns my walking stepping exercise heart rate calories if i decide to actually enter the foods that i am eating weight we won t go there atm fancy wee gadget it is my friends right then best i move this share to facebook share to pinterest friday december 07 2018 le petit jardin hi everyone i m back to share a little creativity featuring couture creations gorgeous le petit jardin collection this collection has been designed by stephanie ryan i have made a screen card let me share how i have put this together the base is white cardstock 6 by 12 and it has been scored at 3 6 and 9 i have punched across the top of the cardstock using a lacey doily edge punch and used a die to cut my shapes across the bottom of the card cut four panels of patterned paper and i just couldn t go past the paper that i chose from this collection i have a wee thing for the colour purple just saying but then i decided to pick up on the greeny aqua colour in the paper i have then embellished each panel with a little less focus on the middle panels allowing for the card to close easier for posting i have hot foiled two wooden heart shapes and two pieces of chipboard sentiments and i have used the gorgeous blue green foil iridescent finish gorgeous colourings in different light i ve added a few crafting fibres some die cuts some doily s and i have made a foamiran poinsettia a special
