indulgence of every whim december 15 2009 the power of the mind has it ever occur to you that there s always something that hold you back from achieving what you want if no well i m glad that you have the drive to push it to the limit and get what you want on the other hand there are people who are helpless and in the process of achieving what they want they become tire of the hurdles and end up letting go of their goals i may categorized myself as a little bit of both circumstances will play a role where i will either end up being a winner or the loser just like my recent encounter with enrolling for courses i was half way thru my course program and out of nowhere came along the course that i ve been dying to enrol way before my uni years the course was newly introduced by the university and it involves illustration photography creative arts and writing which i might just fall in love with all over again back then i didnt manage to win a scholarship for creative arts and illustration as i was advised that the course will not be of any benefit to the government besides my a level subjects will easily shaped me to be in the field of management i didn t want to cause so much trouble of self funding for this course especially having another sibling who is still in her o level episode in view of this i applied to the local university and easily got accepted to study economics finance heck they accepted me for economics whilst my application for anthropology got turned down i scrolled thru the course outline for anthropology and find it rather interesting as compared to studying about how some government would madly cut interest rate just to try to head of recession which spells probable stock market crash i still don t get it was i accepted for my entry level qualifications or its more of what the senators thought i d be more appropriate anyway my first year of economics was more of a love and hate relationship epilogue i flunked the first course of microeconomics and had to re sit simply because i couldn t be bothered with flipping the thick economics textbooks instead i filled my time secretly sliding into the arts section in which i d sat for long hours and read how to master creative writings my course outline does not even relate to having storyboard or build climax of a story hahaha those were the days then i met a close friend who happens to be brilliant in economics she would caught me in one of the art section and asked me what the hell am i doing with those books i told her about my weaknesses for creative arts and vouched to steer back to my ideal line of field someday and that my frequent visits to that section would equipped me with some basic knowledge for future she just laughed at that thought and encouraged me to concentrate on economics so i told her about how i despised entering economics class and how i d easily daydreamed in class let alone read the given materials learning that she agreed to help me out every other day we d study together and she d read out aloud the materials given from class and we d discussed about the topics i struggled in between performing on subjects that i like and scored poorly on boring topics that i thought were a waste of time eventually i enjoyed studying with her and she discovered that i m more of an auditory learners and that contributed to my being difficulty when given reading materials that kind of reminded me how i used to linger on the same sentence over and over again just to comprehend the meaning flipping dictionary every few second well i d usually end up closing the textbook even before half an hour and happily putting on the headphone listening to silverchair nonetheless i partly disagree with the fact that i don t totally read as i can be an avid reader when it comes to my favourite subjects topics eventually i managed to love economics this is when i m already in my third year still my heart does not fall out on creative arts as soon as i found out that the university s introducing the program late last month i search for ways to enrol in it sigh unfortunately they do not except part timers the hurdles experienced in between somehow or rather degrade the excitement to target the aim and change course to the original dream i have toyed around with some parts of the course minute involvement in photography and illustration for fun just to keep the spirit going the mind is considerably responsible for your actions and that weak mind suggest weak actions to constantly sustain the emotional feeling of striving for the goals dreams is rather a painstaking process and as i ve mentioned earlier on can dire the spirit this makes me wonder how do strong conscious minded human being stay true to their aims whilst bombarded by many
