a day in the life pages home transformation gratitude tuesday may 14 2013 goal 70 finished watch jimmer play in the nba so i recently moved to utah and yes i recognize that i haven t posted in a long time and no this isn t going to be the post where i catch you up on what is going on with my life but this is an update on my goals on february 4 2013 the sacramento kings came to town and you know what that means okay maybe you don t jimmer fredette was drafted by the sacramento kings so the timing couldn t have been better i went onto stubhub and scored these sweet seats for only 17 they wouldn t let me take pictures inside the arena so sadly i only have the picture from the program but trust me i had a ton of fun posted by gramesgirl at 2 09 pm no comments thursday april 5 2012 goal number 98 complete we finally had snow so technically i finished this goal 2 months ago but i have had a hard time keeping up with my blog these days goal number 98 was to go snow sledding it s not that i haven t done this before but it had been a long time and it seemed like a good way to help bring a little more fun into my life well thanks to my lovely friend sheral i was able to mark this goal off my life on february 4 2012 sheral and i headed to garden valley bright and early for a fun day in the mountains of idaho we spent 2 hours flying down some awesome sledding trails i had sooo much fun even when i was hurtling down the mountain off said trails after sledding we continued on to mccall idaho for the annual winter carnival so much fun was had i ended up deleting on accident sunday january 15 2012 goal number 37 new recipe 14 triple chocolate pound cake ingredients 3 4 cup butter softened 1 2 cup sour cream or 3 to 4 oz cream cheese softened 1 1 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 1 tbsp half and half 3 4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 1 2 cups flour 3 4 to 1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips preheat oven to 325 degrees grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan in large bowl cream together the softened butter and sour cream or cream cheese add sugar and blend well add eggs one at a time mixing well after each one add half and half blending well stir in cocoa powder and mix well add the flour and blend well then fold in the mini semi sweet chocolate chips put batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees for 70 80 minutes or until toothpicks inserted in center comes out clean or almost clean cool in pan for about 10 15 minutes then remove from pan and cool completely rich chocolate buttercream frosting 1 2 cup butter softened 2 cups powdered sugar 1 2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tbsp half half 1 2 1 3 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips for garnish cream the softened butter and powdered sugar then add in the cocoa powder and blend well add 1 tbsp half half and mix well if you prefer a thinner consistency just add more half half when cake is completely cool frost cake with a nice thick layer of frosting and then garnish by sprinkling the chocolate chips down the center of the cake i used milk instead of half half and garnished with powdered sugar instead this is a super rich cake and honestly not the best i have ever eaten my mother said it tasted a bit like a candy bar and my dad said i should never make it again to be fair he doesn t really like chocolate i will simply say if you choose to make this cake make sure you have made the most delicious and super easy soup seriously try this tonight so yummy easy crockpot potato soup 1 30oz bag of frozen shredded hash browns 3 14oz cans of chicken broth 1 can of cream of chicken soup 1 2 cup onion chopped 1 2 tsp ground pepper 1 pkg cream cheese don t use fat free it will not melt in a crockpot combine everything except for the cream cheese cook for 6 8 hours on low heat about 1 hour before serving add cream cheese and keep heated until thoroughly melted serve with cheese sour cream bacon bits green onions or whatever else you think would be good posted by my inbox this year thanks to betty crocker and their 25 days of cookies recipes this holiday season so without further ado i bring you salted caramel shortbread cookies cookies 1 1 2cups unsalted butter softened 3 4cup sugar 1teaspoon vanilla 3 1 2cups gold medal all purpose flour topping 1bag 14 oz caramels unwrapped 2tablespoons milk 4oz semisweet chocolate chopped 1tablespoon butter 1teaspoons coarse kosher or sea salt heat oven to 350 f in large bowl beat 1 1 2 cups butter with electric mixer on high speed until creamy beat in sugar and vanilla on low speed beat in flour until blended divide dough in half between 2 sheets of waxed paper roll 1 portion of dough to 1 4 inch thickness cut with 2 1 2 inch round cookie cutter on ungreased cookie sheet place cutouts about 2 inches apart repeat with second portion of dough bake 12 to 14 minutes or until set and just barely light golden do not overbake remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks cool completely in medium microwavable bowl microwave caramels and milk uncovered on high 2 minutes 30 seconds stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth frost each cookie with about 1 rounded teaspoon caramel mixture in small microwavable bowl melt chocolate and 1 tablespoon butter uncovered on high 1 minute 30 seconds stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth drizzle chocolate over caramel on each cookie it is delicious my sister and i had a bake a thon before christmas and i will be posting several of the recipes that we tried this was so delicious and super easy this recipe is courtesy of a super fun blog i found called a southern grace check it out terribly terrific toffee 1 cup unsalted butter no margarine allowed 1 cup brown sugar 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips 40 saltine crackers preheat the oven to 350 degrees f line jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with foil and spray with non stick spray lay a flat layer of crackers out on the foil melt the sugar and butter until a boil is reached reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 5 6 minutes or until mixture is thickened and sugar is completely dissolved pour this mixture over the crackers and spread to coat evenly bake for 5 8 minutes or until the toffee becomes bubbly after removing the pan from the oven let it sit for 3 5 minutes sprinkle on the chocolate chips let them soften and melt and then spread them into a even layer at this point you can add nuts crackers crumbs or anything else your heart may desire let cool and if desired refrigerate until hardened break into pieces the size of your choice enjoy posted by
