navigation older posts just nick studio tin tile background posted on may 21 2018 by michelle whorwood 1 hi everyone today i have a new layout for just nick studio featuring the background cut file called tin tile background which is coming into store this month my main idea behind my layout was to go quite graphic as that fit the style of the pink fresh studio s case of the blahs collection so i chose this particular cut file as it is quite structured linear and i just love the way it creates a beautiful texture to my page i cut the cut file out on white cardstock layered it over another piece of white cardstock and added some black and lime green splatters for a bit of mixed media detail i really wanted to keep my background subtle so that you get a hint without overwhelming my photo once i had my background sorted i wanted to grunge it up a bit more so i tore off a small edge at the top left and the bottom right of my white cardstock to allow a piece of the green scalloped patterned paper to peak through adding pops of colour with black and white is such a fun way of creating layouts adding the cut file as you can see below adds a pretty soft detail yet doesn t create anything too busy do you like creating background s with cut files do you stick with white cardstock for cutting your cut files or do you go for a more of a bolder statement either way just nick s to share for just nick studio almost a year to the day since my bff and i went to the adele concert and it poured with rain so i thought the rainy days cut file was perfect and i also used the cut file called spring doodle flowers firstly i loved the cute flowers in the spring doodle flowers cut file so i cut out some on white cardstock and then added some patterned papers to the negative spaces and layered them like a little bunch of florals as an embellishment cluster at the corner of my photo i loved the cut file of the clouds with the rain drops and really wanted to use it with this photo of my bff and i at the adele concert where it literally rained the entire time and we were totally soaked adele rocked it in the rain with us and the concert was amazing i backed the cut file in some blue patterned paper with the tiny dots and then added my title to it using the song title set fire to the rain which was amazing in concert in the freakin rain super cool cut files i layout for just nick studio cut files featuring one of the fun background cut files in store the crop circle background it is a super cool circle design that can be used on multiple of scrapbooking themes here is my layout i cut the cut file out on an ombre style patterned paper as it gave the file interest and colour without being too busy i then themed my embellishments to match in with the cameo hip kit club project life cards posted on january 29 2018 by michelle whorwood 1 today i have a layout to share for the hip kit club doing one of my favourite things and that is to use the project life cards from the december 2017 project life kit on a traditional scrapbooking layout here is my page we are super lucky each month to get unique and amazing card designs in the project life kits december 2017 is no exception exclusively designed by kim watson i use project life cards on my scrapbooking pages a lot i like how super easy it is to add them either as layering pieces under my photos and also to fussy cut out pieces of the cards to add to my pages you can see i have done both here first i added in some graphic and bold colours under my photo and then i have created two other embellishment clusters with sections of the cards as well when adding them to my page i look at what i can use from them it might be a phrase it might be a fussy cut flower it might have colours featuring one of the newer cut files in store modern trees one of the main things i love about the just nick cut files is just their versatility today i have used the tree file on a wintery layout as here in nz we have a summery christmas and created a little scene of winter fun in my background i cut my trees out on some jade green cardstock in a variety of different sizes and then for some fun detail i added some stitching down the centres of them all i then added in some cute layering with lots of stickers and some chipboard framing around my photo lastly i added in some cute little snow by michelle whorwood 1 hi just nick fans today i have a new dt layout with one of the new just nick cut files called feather 3 this one is a super pretty set of 3 feathers which could be added to lots of different layouts both masculine and feminine here is my layout i was initially looking at using this cut file with 3 different photos so i cut all three feathers with white cardstock when i was looking for photos to use on my layout i however found 2 photos that i really liked so i decided to instead use 2 feather shapes on my page you may notice that on the right hand feather is actually the middle blank feather on the cut file with the one on the outline feather layered on top this works perfectly and adds dimension and texture in a subtle way i also really liked the first feather with the swirl shapes which is quite a similar shape to a koru here in new zealand i don t often use feathers on my scrapbooking pages so i really enjoyed challenging myself to create this one i liked the symmetry of having the two photos side by side layered up on both the feathers to connect them i added in some embellishments down the centre of both of my photos and then added in some chevrons that i fussy cutted out from pinkfresh patterned paper to lead you into the rest of my page and anchor my title here are some close ups i hope you have enjoyed my layout i have shared today do you
