ago blog designed by tuesday april 28 2015 new baby and happy homecoming i wanted to write a new post while it is still fresh on my mind we had quite the week end i arrived the day before the new baby was to come to help with getting the two little sisters to the hospital for the scheduled early morning birth it was such a joy to be in the middle of such a happy event we decided to stay in a hotel across from the hospital to save time in the morning traffic since we needed to be at the hospital so early scott s parents and i divided up the girls and i got to keep this sweet baby with me for the night i just kept wondering what was going through her little mind about what was going to be happening tomorrow we were all pretty excited scott got suited up and was waiting to be called back to get ready for the baby s delivery let me just tell you now how proud i am of the sweet man and loving daddy that he is to my grand girls they love their daddy and he loves taking care of them he has a calm disposition which works well with his three girls now we will see how he does with a son this is when i most missed having my hubby here with me didn t seem right not having him waiting with me since we have always been together for our three other grand babies births but knowing he would be home the next day helped we didn t have to wait long before our new baby boy made his appearance i can tell you there was a huge smile beaming behind that mask a perfect baby boy nine pounds and four ounces william holden stamps so happy the grandparents could be here for baby s arrival scott s parents are spending the first week to help kelly get the girls to school since scott goes in to work so early every morning she can t drive for two weeks so i am on duty the next week and i can hardly wait as you can probably imagine harper and hollis are amazed and fascinated by their new baby brother and i am in love do they look pleased as punch kelly and will holden had lots of company this is our wonderful friend jacquie who is also our church secretary she has a new darling granddaughter so she has lots of practice with a new baby we loved that she came by to see our new baby as many of you already know hubs has been on a trip for the past seventeen days to india and nepal teaching native pastors i was to pick him up saturday afternoon at the airport the day after will holden was born so i woke up saturday morning by text on my phone asking me about steve and if he escaped the earthquake in nepal at first i didn t even know what they were talking about because i didn t have the tv news on nor had i fired up my computer i just was in unbelief when i heard the news but because i know god was watching over him he had left nepal hours before the earthquake i can t begin to tell you how my heart was so very thankful please remember to pray for those who lost so much in nepal all of steve s students were safe but sleeping in the streets so afraid of sleeping inside of the buildings pray for their immediate needs just to live will be met i did get to the airport to pick him up and we went straight to the hospital to see our new grandson such a happy homecoming for him and me we are just thanking the lord for the gift of this precious child and look forward to many happy times watching him grow up i love this picture we have a habit of taking an evening walk with our dog skipper skip and i had been walking alone for the past couple of weeks but now we have our dad home and all seems right with the world again this is a picture i made at sunset the other evening in our front yard reminds me of a scripture in psalms o lord our lord how majestic is your name in all the earth when i consider your heavens the work of your hands the moon and the stars which you have set in place what is man that you are mindful of him i am so very thankful for the lord was so thoughtful to us this week what a blessing it has been posted by his doorkeeper at 2 17 pm 6 comments saturday april 18 2015 i m back well i stole that title from hillary but i am back after almost a year of not blogging no real reason i stopped other than i just took a little break and nearly a year has passed mother always told me the older you get the faster the time flies and you know she was right i thought i might do a little recap of what has happened in my life this past year but then that might put you to sleep zzzz zzzz we have had times of loss of loved ones friends but also new lives begun our church added a new building and we feel so blessed to be a part of that the real reason i decided to start blogging again at least for the next few months is that we are getting ready to have a new family member and i did want to document his arrival as i did my three granddaughters in the past i didn t want him to ever read his ole nonny s blog someday and see that nothing was written about him our first grandson hubs is currently on a teaching ministry trip to india and nepal this in fact is the reason i have time to actually sit down and think about blogging again he will be gone a total of seventeen days some people ask me what i do while he is gone actually some very exciting things come to mind trying to catch up on some household chores i have been neglecting has kept me busy this past week funny how i am perfectly happy to let things go when i am on the run but now with extra time i ve started noticing stacks of things that needed to be done also when hubs is not here the little cooking that i do goes to practically zippo why cook for one there are some fairly good frozen dinners and i use that term loosely out there i had a chili s tex mex bowl thingee from the frozen foods department that was quite tasty so skippy and i are just hanging out enjoying each other s company and waiting for the stork to arrive and our daddy to get home hopefully both will be on time glad to be back posted by his doorkeeper at 5 27 pm 14 comments tuesday may 13 2014 the stork beat us i had been planning a little brunch baby shower at my home for a young lady in our young adults sunday morning bible study we had one time conflict after another but finally set the date about three weeks before the baby was expected well the stork was on a different time table and arrived the saturday before our little get together the mother had a c section and did well i figured she would not be able to come but we decided to go ahead with our plans and take her presents to her later but she came and brought her darling new baby boy i just wanted to post this event so i would not forget the celebration of a precious new life and how much i love each of these young women who attend our class each one of them is such a blessing to me they make me be excited for the future of our church knowing what wonderful christian women they are and the star of the show sweet baby bentley posted by his doorkeeper at 6 51 pm 6 comments sunday march 30 2014 midnight madness or a nonny s dream come true well i have just enough energy to prop myself up at my computer and chronicle this past week when i finally got to keep my two oldest granddaughters together in the past they have come one at a time or i keep one and the other set of grandparents keep the other but now that hollis has turned three and actually sleeps through the night i ve gotten very brave and ask to have them both great idea you couldn t ask for any better little girls ok i am somewhat prejudice but trust me they are good and sweet so this is just a blog for myself to help me remember a few of the things we did this week i will look back at this maybe in a couple of years and fondly remember how sweet they were at this age and that they actually loved to come to stay at nonny and papa s house they played dress up skipper helped them watch a movie ok he slept through it but they watched annie or at least parts of it they found a picture of me in the upstairs closet that was made when i was just about the same age as harper i made their picture with it to see if they resemble their nonny what do you think they rode their scooters and papa rode them all over the world on the 4 wheeler we baked the next generation of betty crockers paula deens and martha stewarts and of course there s always walking down the country road to get some exercise no fancy gyms for these two aunt linda came by to visiting bearing early easter bunnies and then today and we knew this was going to happen the parents came to claim their babies just when we were getting started on some real fun hopefully we can take this adventure up again this summer papa and nonny are looking so forward to that posted by his doorkeeper at 8 21 pm 12 comments wednesday march 12 2014 birthday boy i was already in the hospital this time thirty eight years ago back in the day if you were scheduled for a c section as i was you checked in the night before so they could get you ready and you stayed a week after insurance was a different game then i had gone to the beauty shop and had my hair done my parents had come to take care of kelly and we were ready to have the new baby we did not know whether we were having a boy or a girl no sonograms to determine the sex as today s practice i remember waking up and hubs standing over me saying it s a boy and i just cried and cried for joy we had a beautiful little girl and now a sweet baby boy and what a joy he has been chris was always a happy baby here he is being held by a handsome dark haired thin man who has played an important part in chris life two years old one of my very favorite pictures chris has had a loving big sister all these years i have so many memories of them together chris has had so many interests and talents as he grew up a musician an artist a sportsman well read an actor a lover of anything star wars girls loved him a cool senior a dog lover a loving grandson an older cousin who would play video games with them a college graduate a journalist a graduate again a wonderful teacher chris has had many interests jobs etc in his life but by far the greatest joy in his life has been his beautiful wife carrie and that beautiful baby daughter chris i want to wish you a very happy birthday you your sister and your families have brought me more joy than i have ever deserved god is so good to all of us posted
