the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which in god s sight is very precious most people spend time working on the outside of themselves whether it is about your job the image portrayed to the people around you or the picture of how we want people to see us it could be that we feel the outsides of us need work we need to worry about our hair our clothes or our image being pleasing and falling within the guidelines of the worlds expectations the world is constantly supplying us with reasons that we do not measure up or that we actually have something to measure up to we adorn ourselves with the right clothes the right haircut the right outer image that we feel satisfies that image it is something that as humans we are constantly trying to obtain however our outer image is constantly i flux as the world tosses us back and forth across its own projected image the scripture about is focused on something completely different the adorning it speaks of is on the inside it is within our hearts and our souls it speaks about adorning ourselves with the beauty that god gave us within the relationship with him through christ we find calm grace humility and our imperfect world image becomes covered with the perfection that god has shaped his light begins to bring a more solid unwavering beauty that reflects into the world and can be seen by those around us it is not worldly it is heavenly what is the image you want to reflect into the world which is more important to you constantly keeping up with view the world decides you should look like or having hmweimar leave a comment my walk see the good yesterday i wrote about doing good despite what the world is pushing against us part of that is looking for good one of my daughters always gets upset with me because i try to find the good in situations she tells me about she thinks i am always sticking up for the person who did her some kind of wrong but in reality and i ve told her this i am trying to find some good in the person who wronged her some kind of good that still exists despite what bad has happened in her life if we want our perspective of the world to change and we want to find a way to make the bad things good sometimes we have to look for it god will always take what tried to harm you and use it for good but searching for reasoning or looking for the good takes a different kind of mind we have to allow our perspective to become one that searches for the positive in the situation or we can very easily get stuck in the negative honestly i do believe that s where depression and anxiety take hold when we are sitting in the bad part of the offense how can we see or let the good parts heal us lord we are seeking the good that you want us to see and we are asking you to change our perspective we are asking you to help us and those around us to see the positives so that we have a better view of your blessings coming through in all things in jesus name we rebuke who god wants me to be within a world that is trying to make me who the world wants me to be sometimes that doesn t match sometimes the world wants us to be disrupted corrupt and focused on ourselves i was in traffic yesterday watching people try to shove cars into tiny spaces too small for the size that was available bumper to bumper thinking that if they are one inch closer to the vehicle in front of them that it would get them home faster the reality is that if we would be patient leave some space for people to move around things would go much faster if we focused on surviving together through the jam up then it would be over sooner if we were working together for the same goal the world would look different if it wasn t always about our own rush then honestly more people would feel supported blessed and they would see the goodness of the slow down i cranked my k love music and started singing i prayed for god to use my space as a light for others and for it to affect the mood and lives of those around me within minutes people started leaving room and within minutes the traffic cleared and we were all headed home if we do good then that good will shine through the darkness and in turn it spreads to those around us so no matter what the world throws at us do good anyway in jesus name lord please help us to be the beacons you need in all situations help us to praise you august 19 2026 by hmweimar leave a comment my walk defensive mode it s hard to be around people who live in defensive mode those people who constantly live in a state where they feel everyone is attacking them that mood tends to bleed off on all those around them and pretty soon the whole room is full of silence or anger i m sure you know what i m talking about you may have felt it or you may have experienced it and not even know what the issue was you may have just felt uncomfortable like no matter what you said or did you couldn t seem to cut through the mood to a place of comfort or you would enjoy one minute of peace and then the next was full of insecurity there was always or is always unsolicited ground to stand on when people are in defensive mode this mode is so popular and so prevalent these days that the fall back position is to call them bi polar or the most common word for that feeling of instability now is sociopath we ve gotten so used to labels that we aren t even trying to help them correct their course or mood instead of spending the time to turn the switch off of defensive mode we are jumping to a label and just leaving them in their own issue that isn t what god has asked us to do he wants us to love people right where they are like he did for us he also asked us to cast out demons please hear me nothing negative comes from god especially when it comes to emotions that defensive mode is a spiritual attack that can be changed there are definite psychological issues out there caused by chemical issues or deficiencies within someone but being stuck in defensive mode isn t one of them although being stuck there too long can cause an imbalance what s happened to most of them though is that they ve had trauma that started them into defensive mode and maybe they ve been in that trauma too long and now they don t know how to switch it off that is a sign of a spiritual issue it is something that can be cast out it is a darkness that is being disrupted by the light of god within you we are all born with this light within us a knowledge of our creator and over time we gradually lose sight of that through trauma and the worlds disruptions once the darkness finds a crack or way in it tries to spread like a parasite being stuck in defensive mode is a way for that darkness to keep its hold on the host shine the light fight back against that darkness that doesn t mean verbally screaming at people or demeaning them it doesn t mean insulting them or doing things to cause the person to flee again which supports their defensive mode posture it means loving them it means praying for them it means reflecting christ into their lives in a way to gives them a safe harbor to run to it also means casting out the dark presence and it actually doesn t take the kind of exorcism we see in the movies with simple words jesus cast demons out of people injesus name be gone from my presence in jesus name we demand that all demons and principalities that are within those around go back to hell and be bound to their master where they belong in jesus name we demand that satan let go of our loved ones and release his hold on them in jesus name we shed your light lord into the darkness and ask that you help it to spread like wildfire in our world bring revival of spirit and change the perspective of those who are stuck in defensive mode help them to see the blessings you provide in every moment and that they are safe within your presence we thank you lord for always providing a guiding light a safe harbor and solid clutter i can multitask a million situations but dealing with clutter while i m doing it is mind blowing for me i m a hyper organized person right now my stores are mess my house is a mess my car is a mess it makes me feel like my life is a mess however what i try to remember is that none of it is mine i try to remember that the people around me are not me the people around me don t necessarily think like i do they don t realize that if they did one thing or another it would make their life a bit easier and removing the clutter would help them feel a bit less stressed but i m still here i am still able to reflect the beauty of god s grace into all this mess and i can still show them the difference it would make lord slow our thoughts help us to realize the beauty inside the chaos and to be able to stand to feel our own positions within the mess and to know that we are still here show us the lessons you are bringing within this and help us to reflect your grace and peace even when we
