such a great birthday thanks to jesse and the kids we celebrated on sunday they let me have the day off and insisted that i relax in my room while they did all the work they finally let me come out of my room when everything was ready they all surprised me with a cute picture poster a banner and cupcakes jesse fixed a yummy dinner and we had our good friends the robinson s over to celebrate with us i m so lucky to have such a loving family maicey paige logan lexi halley posted by jesse and cami bell at 8 42 pm no comments boys to the rescue logan cooper you might be thinking that i put these pictures in the wrong order but this is really january 6 2012 this has been such a crazy winter i can t believe that we were outside without coats hats etc in january we got to play with cooper while the rest of the medve s hit the ski slopes logan loved being big and helping cooper with everything and cooper was a really good sport to let him posted by jesse and cami bell at 8 24 pm no comments tubing at soldier hollow new year s eve so i know that it is now march 1st and i am still blogging about the holidays pretty pathetic right we had so much fun through the holidays we got to spend time with so many loved ones making special memories i know that these memories and these special times together strengthen our love for each other and bind our hearts together these memories are what get us through the rough times so that is why i am still trying to document the holidays i want to always remember this time together new years eve day was bright and sunny as we hit the tubing hills at soldier hollow in midway with the evans family everyone was there to spend the day together which seems rare these days the whole drive there we were worried that we wouldn t have any snow to tube on but we were happy to find the hills covered with man made snow it hadn t snowed for a while so that made the runs slick and fast which equaled lots of fun lots of fun until nana slipped and fell she tried to catch herself with her hands and snap she broke her arm it was horrible luckily we had 3 doctors close by to help my dad took her to park city they stabilized her arm for the weekend and sent her home we all went to roosevelt for the weekend it was sad to see her so miserable she wanted us to still have the new year s eve party that she had planned and because she had done so much work ahead of time we were able to she had thought of everything from food to games to fireworks it turned out to be a great night she went back to park city on monday and had 2 plates and 8 screws put in her arm to hold it together we are so thankful for good doctors and medical help everything is more fun with aunt cortney logan s hat is always covering up at least one eye but he doesn t care he s happy anyway i m sad that these are the only pictures i have of new year s when my mom is around i let her take all the pictures or i grab her camera to capture the moment because her camera is so much nicer than mine therefore i end up not having very many pictures of my own of evans family events i ll try to get some of her pictures so i can add them in posted by jesse and cami bell at 8 02 pm no comments wednesday february 01 2012 thank you santa there is nothing like the magic of christmas morning there is no doubt in my mind that there is a santa claus and he is truly magical i couldn t find any pictures of lexi by herself opening up her gifts she truly found more joy in giving and helping logan than in her own presents she has such a huge heart lydia had fun helping logan too we love playing with dad this christmas was extra special because we had 4 generations in our home gg great grandma wilford got to have a sleepover we loved having her here and enjoyed hearing about her childhood christmases so thankful that aunt cortney nana papa could be with us too off to church so glad it was at 11 00 am and not 9 00 am thanks to the santa s who made our christmas magical and memorable posted by jesse and cami bell at 8 21 pm no comments thursday january 26 2012 christmas eve celebration after dinner santa watch officially began can you see rudolph s nose then we were off to do our last night of the twelve days of christmas we do this every year with our best friends the robinsons we take the money that we would normally use to buy gifts for each other and use it to try to brighten someone else s christmas every night we deliver a nativity piece and a treat we hope that the memories we make doing this together will last much longer than the gifts that might otherwise be purchased papa decided to have a little cat nap while we were gone luke 2 next onto my favorite part of the evening acting out the story of the savior s birth first choose a character and costume logan cowboy shepherd lexi angel lydia shepherd jesse photographer gg narrator me wise woman its a stretch i know but you have to work with what you got papa joseph nana mary and she brought forth her first born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in the manger and there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field keeping watch over their flock by night aunt cortney and lo the angel s of the lord came upon them and they came with haste and you know the rest of the story lydia lexi both played some christmas carols the first gift christmas pajamas we thought the kids were winding down for the night but after a wardrobe change from cowboy shepherd to cowboy santa the show really started one more check on santa s progress then off to bed and to all super yummy main course cordon bleu made by papa asst by nana garlic parmesan potatoes tomato basil green beans made by aunt cortney dessert creme brulee with fresh berries mint also made by aunt cortney gg lydia cortney clayton lexi logan lydia nana there is nothing like christmas eve dinner its amazing how smells tastes and flavors can bring back memories and really comfort your soul the evans cordon bleu tradition was started when i was growing up i don t know where the recipe came from but it was an immediate favorite so much so that when we were asked what we wanted to have for birthdays and holidays we would ask for cordon bleu well its not an easy dish to make it takes lots of steps and a couple days to get all the flavors to infuse into the chicken in order to simplify life a little my mom decided that we would have it once a year on christmas eve well as you can imagine when you only have something once a year it becomes extremely desirable the evans family loves it and we look forward to having it each year my dad made it this year and we all agreed it was the best batch yet this is the story as i remember it mom please feel free to make any corrections to
