friday nov 10 kari steiger thats sew kari blogspot com it s friday and we are visiting kari at her blog that s sew kari she usually uses the fabrics for children s clothing which is so fun for me to see but i am not sure what she is doing this time we ll have to wait and see i do know that she always has darling models hop on over to kari s it s the last stop on this blog tour i will be showing 2 30 00 am 3 comments thursday november 9 2017 today we visit debby brown she is a talented quilter and teacher and i can t wait to see what she has been working on debby is famous for her stylish shoes every time i see her at quilt shows and events she has a new pair of beautiful shoes of course she is also known for her beautiful quilting you will love seeing what she has created with this that the cool colors in this collection are beautiful i love the high contrast and that periwinkle blue as you know black is a favorite of mine because it grounds everything and adds a pop of drama one of the new patterns that i created with this collection is called the quilt quilt for obvious reasons fun motifs that we all recognize would be at home in any quilter s collection bolts of fabric spools of thread and tools like pins and cutters combine with floral blocks for a cut and sew quilt and bind project here i am at schoolhouse showing the quilt to market attendees we have been so busy job and i can t wait to see what she comes up with this time this collection has my favorite color palette in it i love fresh reds and yellows and the white floral is just great i haven t made anything with it yet but i can t wait to start sewing and get something new made featuring that print i ll be sure to share it with you when i get going but i have a few weeks of festival orders to schedule and i should have started you off right away this morning but i was delayed as you may know i was in houston for international quilt market followed by international quilt festival so i was gone for 12 days when i got back i had some catch up to do besides all the orders and business stuff etc i got a new baby grandson and i just had to spend some time visiting him meet baby clark isn t he beautiful yes he is we are so happy to have him join our family on top of that i am a little bit tired from all of the work and travel and excitement of the last 2 weeks so now lets get going on jill posted by jillily studio at 7 27 00 pm 1 comment sunday november 5 2017 well folks it s time for new fabric my new collection this that will be out in stores in the coming weeks i am so excited about this line it is one of my favorites you are going to love the saturated colors bold designs and crisp contrast in this group of fabrics i just got my new yardage a few weeks ago and hurried to make up this fun quilt featuring a whole neighborhood of houses clustered together on a hillside it has some beautiful blooms in the border to frame the little hamlet so i named it hillside hamlet i am really happy with how this turned out i made a quilt similar to it a while ago maybe you remember i sent it off to my quilter and it was lost in the mail a tragedy i was so disappointed but now that i have this one done i love it in these new fabrics so things have a way of working themselves out to celebrate the new collection we are having a short blog tour for the next 4 days we will treat we are visiting my friend kimberly einmo she is a great teacher and always has such good ideas so i can t wait to see what she posts today go on over to her blog and we ll see www kimberlyeinmo com blog so since it is the last week of the blog tour to feature my fabric collection coming up roses i decided to whip up something new and fun i have been wanting to do this project for a while now i needed something to put all my stitching supplies in to make it easy to grab when you are stitching on a binding or working on applique etc i wanted it to be round so that my poke a dots would fit nicely and besides that it is just a really cute shape i m calling this little tote a stitchery do the pattern will be available on my website next week i put a little pin cushion into the lid and a few pockets to hold small scissors needles thread threader etc this little tote is not big but just right for keeping all those stitching items together in one place after i made three of these one in each of the main print colorways i decided i needed to make one using selvages i love selvage projects i love selvages from lots of different designers the more the merrier but for this project i just used selvages from my penny rose fabrics i wanted to focus on that and after all it is a really small project anyway coming up roses is my second collection with penny rose fabrics i have a new collection coming out in october so i was able to put in a few of the selvages from this that too and my first collection meadow sweets is also in there so this is like a journal of my collections so
