1 comment so far second hand gensets it does matter and i call on the sabah electricity sdn bhd sesb to be transparent over the second hand mobile electricity generators sets supplied to tawau as the public are not happy with it all the while we thought the gensets would be brand new after all the cause of frequent load shedding and blackouts were due to old gensets so why is sesb allowing this to happen as sesb themselves had told the people many gensets are already old sesb s managing director baharin din had said the cause of shortage of power in sabah were due to old gensets so why is sesb getting used gensets again it does not make any sense the irony to it is that the people felt they were lied to by sesb who never told its customers the gensets were second hands when on the other hand sesb had assured new gensets would be supplied when it comes to electricity power generators it does matter whether its is old or new and i won t be surprise if the coal fired power plant if built would also be second hand sesb had failed to convince its customers time after time as evident with the failed grid system that promised there will be no more blackouts i still remember reading baharin s statements in the newspaper two years ago he said with th egrid system complte blackouts would be history and what happened blackouts still continue and now he is saying it is okay for second hand gensets as long as they functioning and provide electricity but i like ask how long could the gensets last at what cost and is it economical i urged baharin to publish a full details of the purchasing of the 32 generator sets as the public want to know whether they had not been cheated after they already had been lied too professional organized crime at our doorstep march 3 2010 posted by wong jimmy in crime tags crime 2 comments it saddens me when public called and informed me our police is not doing a good job investigating the many recent housebreak ins i am even informed that tawau has a well organized underground syndicate operating and targeting residential areas after reading the news i believe there is a syndicate now rooted in tawau and public had told me they felt that locals youth chinese malays and also foreigners are being recruited to do housebreak in it had been reported that in tawau 13 safes had been stolen from houses with the latest at taman asia baru and other tamans like bandar sri indah mega jaya and hot spring already broke into the syndicate is also believed to be running illegal gambling drugs burglary and robbery using local youths to do the job the public are worried about their security and urge the police to get to the bottom of the many reported housebreak in lately they work like professional and commit their crime even at day time they have good intelligence network they know when their would be victims will be out to dinner wedding and holidays this had painted a bad impression on the police as public are claiming the police are not doing the investigation seriously which i hope not from public information the public strongly believe the syndicate is headed by two men from semenanjung and one from sarawak who were exiled here the police should catch the head of the snake or master mind and not only the ma chai or members or else housebreak in will not stop in tawau and will get even worst i call on the tawau police chief to give assurance to the public and explain what had been done so far i am sure police are aware since the public already suspected that this syndicate is a nation wide syndicate headed by chinese and now they are here i heard there are already hundreds of cases reported and at least 10 houses a day broke into yb lim kit siang and datuk sri anwar ibrahim will be coming to tawau soon and i will report this horror story to them to bring to the parliament attention i will also write to the home minister and inspector general of police about this matter i am also contemplating of engaging a private investigator to help i feel this only the tip of the iceberg i hope our police will act professionally and not treat all these housebreak ins as isolated cases find the head and leaders or else they will transform this organized crime into an industry electricity take sarawak offer forget the coal fired power plant march 2 2010 posted by wong jimmy in electricity tags electricity water 1 comment so far i call on the government to act fast and take the sarawak s offer of its excess electricity supply through the lawas hydro power station and save a lot of money from building the coal fired power plant in lahad datu there is no reason why the state government should not accept the offer it is just a connection to lawas which is near our border even brunei had already signed a deal to buy 300 megawatt in three stages from sarawak energy berhad seb the government should act fast and get at least 200 megawatt by 2012 and not relying on old generators and from independent power producer ipp forget about the coal fired power plant in lahad datu the government can save a lot of money by buying electricity from sarawak we can use the money meant to build the coal fired power plant to upgrade our drinking water system and have more dams resevoir and water processing plant built now we can solve both water and electricity problem so i call on the state government to act fast for the sake of the people and economy i also call on the public to save and conserve water as i had been infromed that the water level is getting very low at the tawau river due to el nino the water situation is expected to get worst if the water level at the river is too low the water processing plant at cintamata would not be able to pump in raw water and the level as i
