etc alex has had quite a year posted by steve and holly at 8 33 am 1 comment tuesday may 1 2012 busy spring a few of our spring activies a capella choir concert morgan and cousin bryan headed to state choir next week solo and ensemble double brass quintet i rating at state science fair pinewood derby not the fastest or the slowest but most definitely the coolest tank car easter egg hunt at the city park with cousins region sterling scholar competition alex was general scholarship runner up but we were just glad he was alive at this point after having a severe allergic reaction that morning happy birthday 20 friend party honor society induction posted by steve and holly at 10 25 am no comments tuesday february 28 2012 soooo it s almost march again since i don t even know where to start to catch up here s what s going on now alex is the chs general sterling scholar very busily preparing his portfolio for region competition he has been offered several fabulous scholarships and hopes that offers are still coming he is currently a national merit finalist he did very well competing last week in solo ensemble his ensemble will compete at region next month with a possibility of his solo also morgan turned 16 and loves driving and being in laurels i m sure she ll love this post with her cheesy birthday cheesecake picture kaleb finished this arrastra for his eagle project and passed his eagle board of review 5 days before his 14th birthday he was also just ordained a teacher on sunday janecca competed this month in a soccer tournament in mesquite her spring season just started on saturday she is loving middle school and can t wait to turn 12 ethan earned his bobcat and is busily working toward his wolf he is very excited about the pinewood derby in a couple of weeks nelson is very happy to be 5 and is looking forward to kindergarten registration posted by steve and holly at 11 23 am 1 comment saturday april 2 2011 march we started march by celebrating grandpa pearson s 80th birthday janecca did a fabulous job as a teacher in school house rock maybe i ll figure out how to get some video posted she s also busy right now with soccer the weather has been so nasty for her games that we don t have any pictures of this season yet alex s new favorite numbers are 34 and 2050 he was chosen by the junior class as one of 10 boys and 10 girls to be in the junior prom royalty he was in this assembly and left right after to go with mr thorley to compete in skills usa in the interview competition sometime the next evening he was traded to the science olympiad team so he could compete in several events in the state competition he earned one gold medal for chem lab one silver medal for pentathlon one bronze medal for helicopters one bronze medal for problem solving fifth place in anatomy and phsyiology as well as the cedar high team winning the citizenship award he came home with scholarship offers from weber state and also should be receiving a cash award for his gold medal sometime soon his campaign starts on monday he s running for student body president ethan and janecca participated in the school science fair they had great projects they were a little disappointed to not win any places but realized that you can t win everything janecca s teacher told her she wanted to keep her project to show kids next year so we think using success academy high school students and the judging process could use a little changing especially when cedar high totally blew away success academy at the state olympiad nelson had another trip to the instacare he s had a cast and staples this time it was just glue he had a run in with the entertainment center and had a nice gash to the side of his left eye it would be nice if we could harness more of his boundless energy kaleb received his life scout we don t have any pictures because we were standing up with him to get it he s excited to have just two merit badges left to finish he should have his eagle project chosen and completed before the summer is over morgan is doing great throwing the discus and javelin she s getting the technique and really improving her distances she s looking forward to her singing almost all of the words at his grandparents day program he has always memorized everything very well he just hasn t always demonstrated what he knows when he gets in front of a crowd this was taken with steve s father s ring as part of a present for his mother on what would have been their 50th anniversary janecca had a great time playing jr jazz basketball she s the one shooting the free throw kaleb is now a teenager of course he had to play with the candles he requested a chocolate cheesecake that was served with cherries his present was a monitor to go with the computer that he got from the school the band had some newer ones donated and had a few that they didn t have room for that were still in decent shape so they gave them away he just has a couple of games and word processing that he can do in his room no internet here s the relief society craft i was in charge of for february it says love never melts on one heart on the scarf these are the scripture bags that i was commissioned to make for the kids in ethan s primary class the primary gave all the kids their own hard cover book of mormon for christmas i made bags for ethan and nelson ethan s primary teacher loved them and asked if i could make them for the other kids in her class some things i still can t say no to janecca receiving an award for a poem about a quetzalcoatlus for a project by the music department at suu and the orchestra of southern utah posted by steve and holly at 9 00 am 1 comment monday january 10 2011 more december this year instead of a cake the day after christmas it was a cake a week before christmas it had to be transported to st george in not so lovely weather thanks to mary lynne for meeting me to help me get it in and set up straight it s always better to have another set of hands christmas finally came alex and janecca dove into the family present while the little brothers went straight for the tree janecca snuggling in her new chair with her new blanket and with nelson s new favorite friend woody ethan and his favorite toy dragonois colossus alex helping little boys figure out how something works morgan s happy about something posted by steve and in the pink coat in the middle of the street alex was tigger janecca was back up in front of the store with the siblings and cousins by the time tigger came kaleb at his christmas band concert i guess
