sister katherine felt skip to main skip to sidebar wednesday december 23 2009 fn2 dear family well hey how are you all so today is not p day but we are using the internet anyway because tomorrow and the next day everything will be shut down so the scalding hot sun is making it hard to think about christmas and what we are going to do yesterday we were at feira de santana for conference yes that is like 6 or 7 hours on the bus with elder s oh man we played a white elephant game and i first got a game of skip bo and then someone took it and then i got pepto bismol how surprising is that that i will use it that s for sure it was a present from e roatinskie sei la however you really spell his name but he took a picture of me with it he is a really funny elder shoot it was so good to see the sisters and spend time with them we got to feira on monday morning at about 1 am and then we just stayed up talking until we finaly were all sleeping then i woke up at like 5 30 i don t know i think that i have insomnia or something because just lately i have not been able to sleep it s good sometime because it gives me time to think by myself anyway so life is good i got a good amount of letters yesterday it is fun but i think that i may or may not keep writing letters in return because i will just return but my family i will keep on writing every week till the end of my mission well i think that when you come home and there is that stander question well what did you most learn on your mission well the unfairness of this question is overwhelming there are so many things that you learned that to talk about just one in a brief response that that person would like to hear is basically impossible but there are a few things that i have learned over the past 18 mos that i would like to share with all my raving fans something that i learned is that the hand of our beloved heavenly father is with us in every thing that we are doing that when we are suffering the most we are then also being carried the most his guyed his loving hand is pulling us through those tough times to the safety of a new day i also learned that is its really great to suffer i would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to become a better more faithful saint i am sure that even though heavenly father was with me through all that time he let me feel the pain that comes from seeing his beloved children and my wonderful siblings in the gospel choose things that are less than wise many times my heart was turnd to the scriptur in 2 nefi 33 3 when nefi sees the wickedness of the people and that destroys there lives this not only brings much suffering to there personal life but also to all the people that care about them that was the internal suffering but there are always many other forms of suffering that every missionary goes through so when you are a parent watching your child suffer just remember that to some extent it is a good thing which brings me to the next point of something that my mother has always said the only person you can control is you mom felt actually putting that into practice on my mission was the hard part as a missionary you are only abel to do so much this is true in real life as well you can teach people all correct principals help them make and keep commitments but there comes a point when you cant do it for them they have to make the call they have to decide what it is that they want to do the eternal law of agency is essential to the craters plan men have to chose liberty or death they have to chose what is best for them and how to be happy these were a few things that i learned on my mission i am grateful to all my family and friends that i have been able to see and talk to and i hope to see and talk to many more love forever sister brazil at this time in my life so i hope that you all like it last week was great and terrible all at the same time we had one baptism and one fall through we only had one investigator at church and ma mft at 4 09 pm 3 comments wednesday may 27 2009 second to last so this is the 2nd to last e mail that i ll send all is well and bem yesterday i talked to an american and tried to teach him in english man that was hard to just start talking to him he was cool he is here doing a study on public health he is a student at corneal university that was cool yesterday we also had a baptism a flood in the church and two birthdays it was a big day we didn t teach anyone and well to say the least it was a hard day but life is good and all is well have a great day love your little sister felt posted by kate felt ma mft at 12 17 pm 0 comments tuesday may 19 2009 wind rain dear family how are all you here life is good we are nearly freezing to death with all this rain and wind but i think that i will survive you know it was like 70 degrees yesterday that is not all that cold but add the wind and the rain and it is really cold anyway next week is stake conference and it should be interesting they want to have two buses this branch here is in a state of emergency i guess the gospel of jesus christ is always an emergency but now the members want to do something about the work the stake president told them that they could not move in to the new chapel until they were a ward the branch needs five more people at sacrament meeting and 10 more men baptized and holding the melchizedek priesthood they want to do this in two months i am all about baptizing 10 men but i doubt any one of them would be ready to receive this responsibility within a few weeks of being baptized it s great that the members are willing to work for it we will too and hopefully i will meet my goal before i go home all really is well here we are seeing many new miracles happen and yesterday not on purpose i sort of burned the elders with my training in district meeting it was supper funny because i really didn t know that they had been working in another town and not where they live it s in there area but it is just another city anyway i was reading alma 8 to teach that we have to do it the lords way and they were like oh man that was just for us anyway it was sort of funny well all is at 2 27 pm 0 comments tuesday april 28 2009 hey good news first off i was not transferred nor was my comp so i will be ending my mission here it will be so so so so cool to see this new chapel dictated that is so good news sister felt has decided that i will for sure love to watch the girls for the summer even if it is in the middle of no where jk gene but really if you will have me i would love to and chrisy i would for sure love to come with you to dc lets stop at nauvoo and i can stay with you until i have to watch the girls lets play i am thinking about doing mediation and we ll see
