the blackest night the blackest night 1 5m ratings 277k ratings see that s what the app is perfect for sounds perfect wahhhh i don t wanna the blackest night mostly ffxiv and ffxv arts posts ask me anything submit a post about me archive kind of missed bg3 so obviously i draw qui gon as druid lol also saw a modded gear while looking for reference and it s uh definitely an interesting choice of outfit for adventure star wars qui gon jinn obi wan kenobi my art if i m not mistaken one of the haircut in the game is literally just qui gon s lol i m so not sorry for doing this btw tumblr don t send my post to the shadow realm pls 47 notes oct 4th 2026 open in app facebook tweet reddit mail embed permalink yeah it s that samurai and cat meme star wars obi wan kenobi qui gon jinn qui gon and obi wan my art damn i forgot how qui gon lightsaber looks like but im too lazy to look it up 107 notes oct 3rd 2026 open in app facebook tweet reddit mail embed permalink antigonesiropdefruit antigonesiropdefruit qui gon and obi wan honestly i feel like this is one of the healthiest friendships obi wan has and that s why i don t understand why so many obi wan fans hate him i then sincerely ask the question what did qui gon do that is so horrible to be so hated and look i have nothing against the character of dooku he is my favorite antagonist from the movies but why do so many fans act as if he would have been a better master for obi wan it s a bit ironic how so much fanfiction presents dooku as grandfather material and qui gon as an abuser you know dooku the guy who tried to kill obi wan his student s student whom he claims to miss in a horrible way by tying him up and leaving him defenseless against giants creatures the guy who helped start the war that cost millions of lives mostly clones what is the worst thing that qui gon has done in the movies to be described as worse than dooku personally i think that qui gon is really decent in comparison the only thing i don t like about him is his fans tendency to claim that he is better than other jedi and that he would have been a better teacher than obi wan and saved anakin which i really don t think from what i saw of him during his short screen time not only did obi wan prove himself more competent by defeating maul but also anakin who blamed and ressent obi wan for his mother s death without reason would have had even more resentment against a living qui gon who is the one who left his mother on tatooine and since anakin got away with a massacre committed on tatooine in aotc the film gives the impression that qui gon really could have secretly taken shmi on board without any real problem is all this hatred coming from the moment he wanted to take anakin as a student is that all there is a lot of things before this moment obi wan is not a baby he is an adult padawan of 25 years old qualified enough to beat a sith yes qui gon told him just before that he still had things to learn just before telling the council that obi wan was ready for the trials but he does not lie since he specifies to the council that obi wan still has a few things to learn he did not change his visions between the scenes obi wan is according to him able to pass the trials and he still has things to learn about the living force one does not prevent the other he also says that he has nothing more to teach obi wan and this is proved later when obi wan beats maul while qui gon dies so qui gon is neither a liar nor a monster for wanting to take anakin as a padawan he just does it a bit harshly because he absolutely wants anakin to be trained as a jedi while the council was right not to like this idea and obi wan himself is not angry and qui gon tells him that he will make a good knight so once again why does some of obi wan s fans hate him so much kozh lucium i m going be really frank here and i hope that i don t ruffle someone s feathers though to be honest i don t think i care about it anymore also op i apologize if it may look like i m piggybacking of your post and before i begin i just want to say that this isn t me trying to police fics i am mostly talking about people s takes outside of fics on qui gon and obi wan right so i saw the other post that said it s 70 of council room scene and 20 of jedi apprentice ja in my humble opinion and experience i disagree and say that it s more 70 ja and 30 council scene i feel like the council scene wouldn t be as problematic to some people if not for the context of ja in which people feel like obi wan who has to beg qui gon to be his padawan is discarded unchosen for the second time now that alone is kinda whatever i guess i completely disagree with it but you do you my biggest problem with this fandom or honestly any big old enough fandom is this tendency to use fanon as facts it appears to me that quite a lot of obi wan ja fans are either a read the book once when they re kids and therefore have unreliable memory of it or b haven t even read the book and only read wiki fics i have lost counts how many times i see someone shitting on qui gon and upon further inquiry it is clear that they are purely using fanon some examples 1 qui gon leave obi wan enslaved on bandomeer simply not true qui gon has his own mission and obi wan was to join the agri corps as far as everyone s concerned the agri corps should be a safe place but instead xanathos influence reach there also why tf it felt like the place doesn t have any jedi members there and obi get kidnapped later on when xanathos revealed that obi wan is in the mine qui gon chose to prioritize obi wan over fighting xan it is said that it s the first time qui gon run from a fight 2 on melida daan qui gon coldly told obi wan he s expelled from the jedi rips off his braid and confiscated his saber again not true qui gon practically plead with obi wan to come with him only for obi to pull his lightsaber on qui gon then when it s apparent both of them feel anguish yet unwilling to budge obi wan handed qui gon his saber and told him to go could qui gon handled it better yes but also this is a young adult series where the kid protag is treated like adult also fun fact qui gon while claiming that he doesn t care about obi wan leaving the order keep his saber on his own person and get super distracted during sparing that an initiate get a hit on him this isn t ja related but i also have seen some people parroting that canon qui gon is also an ass because he left obi wan on his own during satine protection mission or that he use him as a bait which is phew sorry for thay wall of text to put it simply it s basically like what the others has said fandom thrives on tropes and right now obi wan is kinda like the spiderman of star wars he s the ultimate victim the punching bag of everyone the one who spent his whole 12 years of padawanship being abused and or emotionally and physically neglected by his master and sometimes the whole order too that is also why a lot of fanfics feature obi wan getting loved by the mandalorians or getting adopted by them because those fans saw being a jedi as a suffering despite the fact that obi wan loves being a jedi and is comfortable with it in fact it was qui gon who tend to have dilemma over following the order or his heart the force as for dooku well because they made qui gon the villain obviously a character is needed to fulfill the doting parent grandparent figure right naturally it falls on dooku to step on that role one other thing i noted is people mostly just erase ja dooku when they talk or write about dooku it s always canon dooku who s much much better than his ja counterpart why because there is no way ja dooku will tolerate ja obi wan also sw fandom in general tend to see dooku as a master who get so heartbroken because of his padawan s death that he joined the sith without realizing that dooku has joined sidious before qui s death worse he still choose to work with him after naboo please don t take this as me hating on dooku i m not in fact i really like him and may or may not agree with some of his opinion of the jedi but i digress i just feel like it s quite a character erasure when people potray dooku as this warm openly doting grandpa type which is not even how canon dooku act i may have strayed quite a bit here honestly it s a pretty delicate discussion because on one hand i do get that fanfics gotta fanfics but on the other like i mentioned at the start this kind of takes unfortunately doesn t stop at fanfics and people do be genuinely believe it it s also the same when for some unknown reason not quite few obi wan fans are bashing satine of all character anyway yeah that s my humble analysis qui gon jinn obi wan kenobi i know this sounds a lot like i have beef with ja fans but hey i m not the one who keep bringing up the book as proof that qui gon is a shitty master i do have my own grievance with ja book which is mostly how different obi and qui are portrayed compared to tpm but it s neither here nor there 47 notes sep 29th 2026 open in app facebook tweet reddit mail embed permalink roses are red violets are blue please give us qui gon hugging
