lanci skip to main skip to sidebar lanci saturday july 21 2012 things to do poor little c had to have her 18 month vaccination today hopefully she won t get the side effects mild chicken pox because colin has not had chicken pox as yet and i do not want him to get it took her to have a little playtime at cheeky chinos before her shots she wasn t happy with us and was extremely grumpy after we tried to take her to do fun things but how many fun things can you do on a cold winter day luckily we had the sun out today do we took her to albert park playground and she loved playing on the equipment and looking at dogs and ducks at least she was less grumpy at the end of the day fingers crossed not too grumpy tonight and tomorrow posted by susan ong at 9 17 pm no comments labels kids activities thursday june 28 2012 cheeky chinos my new favourite cafe this new cafe in south melbourne has a great area for kids to play at a fee which is also supervised caitlin loves going there to play and will wander off to the play area as soon as we get there the girls who work there already know her by her name it s a great place to go to get some time out at least i know i can go there to have a break and caitlin is happy there too we have gone on weekends as well where colin and i can have a nice coffee and spend time together without worrying about caitlin being bored and wanting to leave the coffees are good the facilities are awesome they have very clean change area and even provide wipes i ve only used their change area once but it s good to know that it is clean if i need it the only downside is the menu about boring with sandwiches focaccia etc as they don t have a kitchen area though they have recently introduced some hot food ie egg to their breakfast menu so hopefully they will add more soon also because it is so busy this place can get very crowded and very hard to get a table as its not a big place price is a little pricey for child play area is 10 for 30mins or 15 for an hour but to be able to enjoy a cup of coffee and some time out is great would definitely recommend people who go often to get the membership as you get 20 off play area definitely enjoy 2012 back into watching and catching up with my tvb dramas stopped or watched less frequent since caitlin came about finished watching this a couple of weeks ago didn t expect too much out of it as it looked silly but i wanted to watch it because i liked nikki chow i quite enjoyed this series very easy to watch and pleasant without being overly deep and too much to think about about like romantic comedies and i knew there was going to be a happy ending michael tse was also quite funny but my favourite character was definitely nikki there are so many rubbish movies and series that have been produced recently but i definitely enjoyed this would give it 4 stars posted by susan ong at 10 11 pm no comments labels series review wednesday may 30 2012 national gallery of victoria took little c to the ngv today heard that there was a kids area which we went to check out they have a exploration theme or something apparently the theme changes there were different areas caitlin loved the crayons and spent most of the morning drawing and running around with a crayon it was nice and there were a lot of kids there caitlin immensely enjoyed herself and i think that we definitely will be 2012 mellow yellow today i feel like mellow yellow quite like the unusual colour if i was working i would never ever wear these colours so am making use of unemployment and trying all these colours and it is awesome that my sister who loves painting her nails has gone to the uk and i have inherited raided her nail polish collection not awesome that my sis has left but awesome that i have inherited her nail polish the blue on the edges is not old nail polish that wasn t removed properly it was food colouring from making cake stuck in between an wo come off awful sleep last night had a very unsettled baby think it could be the poor girls teething cried every few hours but luckily settled most times except around midnight where she was up for a couple of hours she woke and cried at 6 45am and then resettled and fell asleep till 8 30am which i thought was very unusual and she also had a whole hour and half sleep in the afternoon instead of her usual one hour sleep hopefully she is not coming down with something but i am glad she slept longer this afternoon hopefully this continues am loving my new video monitor i don t have to go in to her room to see what is wrong because as soon as i do she won t sleep i can now watch her and see what she s up to and hopefully she will fall asleep so glad col let me replace my old video that i killed today s weather was quite nice eventhough abit cool in the morning managed to get some shopping done spent the afternoon in st kilda went to aldi again 3 different aldis in 3 days needed to buy some fruits and was hoping to find more wooden toy food for caitlin after that we wandered to some op shops chemist and library gives the little one a chance to walk a little and get used to people around etc hard to go shopping especially a chemist with her she refuses to sit in the pram and wanted to grab everything to put in the basket doesn t help that i was looking for vitamins and the aisle was filled with bottles eventually got there then took her to the library for a little while came home and noticed that the neighbours were home so we took the cake we baked yesterday to them of course the kids ended up playing and we were late for her dinner and bedtime routine again but at least the little one gets to go to bed happy hopefully weather is nice tomorrow may take her for a walk in the morning and if i m not too lazy may take a tram to the city and go to the national gallery will see how we go will probably end up driving somewhere to go shopping better finish watching the latest episode of make it recipe and wanted to play with marzipan outcome think that the cake tasted a little bit dryer than i would ve liked think i will go back to using butter cakes colin helped me with marzipan an decorations was quite hard to work with guess will have to keep practising my poor neighbours daughter is our guinea pig have to make more for her before they move in a few weeks don t think my neighbour will be too impressed with the sugar i am giving her daughter posted by susan ong at 10 23 pm no comments labels cooking tuesday may 15 2012 do i believe i wonder if the reason i m having a good week or having a more positive outlook is because of these gemstones do i believe in them these stones are red jade garnet and hematite one of things it s supposed to help with is tranquility and because of the crappy weather guess today wasn t overly bad but was still a little cold was excited to catch up with my friend miriam and her 11 month old daughter we went to cheeky chinos my new favourite cafe the kids had fun in the play area we have been to this cafe a number of times and every time we get to the play area caitlin just wanders off and doesn t even bother to look for me i should be glad she s independent enough and not too clingy there we got to enjoy our coffees and not have to worry too much about the girls after the half hour was up they didn t want to come out so we had to extend another half hour caitlin was not too happy about leaving even after the hour was up but think both girls had fun no shoving or crying do that s a good sign came home and worried about being late for caitlin s dinner and the neighbour comes over to drop off some muffins caitlin being so at home with her and her two kids age 2 and 9 months wanders off with them to their apartment while the 2 year old plays at my place good trade she didn t come home till 5 30pm they have been playing together quite frequently which is great because i want caitlin to learn to interact and socialise with other kids just such a pity that they are moving out in a few weeks have been having a good but busy week had a good mothers day and even got an ipad yesterday got to spend some time with my parents then visited friends glenn wong who just had a baby and also juliet who had hers a couple of months ago their babies are so cute and little really miss little bub but not the crying and lack of sleep can t wait to see these kids grow up looking forward to tomorrow and having a little time off to go to the city for an appointment while my parents babysit hopefully the back to baking had some natural yoghurt which little c refuses to eat don t blame her because i dont like it either being the genius that i am i thought that i d stop being lazy and to bake something found an interesting recipe for banana and yoghurt muffin which seemed easy to do and more importantly i had all the ingredients at home only took about 30minutes to prepare and was quite tasty it was a hit with caitlin who had about 4 yesterday and the neighbours kids and a few of the mothers group kids enjoyed it think it was a hit and will definitely try making it again posted by susan ong at 8
