pinterest sunday october 05 2014 madison turns 21 my sister madison turned 21 last month and to mark the occasion we all went out and tried to hang with the college crowd kelly colby madison and brian even my dad and mary went out with us for a while we went to harry s and had a blast dancing the night away i had so much fun dancing with my dad and brothers and micah too madison wasn t feeling too great by the time these pictures were taken but you can t tell here she s such a beauty inside and out and i m so glad we were able to celebrate this milestone with her i m looking forward to many believe it in a way it seems like she s been in my life forever but then i also feel like she was just born the fact remains that she is five and she s changed enriched our lives in a million different ways here s what adler is up to these days she is just so sweet she loves cuddles and back rubs and says the sweetest things that make our hearts melt she s independent she takes pride in doing things herself and has no problem telling us when to back off she s a girly girl she loves pink tutus dresses and sparkles she even refuses to wear shorts to school unless they are under a dress when she grows up she wants to be an artist at texas a m that draws unicorns and rainbows she still slips into our bed most early mornings to cuddle with us this girl loves music and can sing along with most songs on the radio we often find her carrying around a phone just listening to music she is obsessed with frozen at the moment she loves school this is a new development just since school started in august last year was a different story but wow she is loving pre k this says a lot about her current teacher mrs sibert the first words that came out of her mouth this morning were i can t wait for school today adler loves her brother even though he s almost 3 years older than her she still tries to boss him around the morning of her birthday we surprised her with a living room full of pink and purple balloons i really wanted to keep her home from school on her birthday and spend the day with her but she wanted to go to school and celebrate there with her class i did join her for lunch and brought cupcakes for her friends thanks to grandma for this cute 5 shirt that evening she chose to eat dinner at kerbey lane cafe her favorite restaurant because they serve pancakes all day long we had a simple family birthday party for her in college station this year at our parent s neighborhood pool house she was thrilled to party with her cousin jordynn swimming with daddy yum ice share to facebook share to pinterest friday september 26 2014 amelia rose we headed up to ft worth recently to throw my sister in law jami a baby shower she s due in late october with a little girl amelia rose we can hardly wait adler had a blast at the shower helping me decorate and helping aunt jami opening gifts adler and grandma the kids really enjoyed playing with their cousin noah we found x share to facebook share to pinterest thursday september 25 2014 aggie football micah received free tickets to the first home aggie football game so we took owen and checked out the renovated stadium there were over 104 000 people at this game crazy here are 2 new statues on display outside the stadium i especially love the one below micah is one of the landscape architects working on the new stadium designing the plaza and space around the outside of the field it was so awesome to see the space being used after all his hard work right before kickoff a storm blew in and the game was delayed for 2 hours that gave us lots of time to wander around the stadium an check everything out here we are at the top deck this is a cool new arch way with views of the storm kai totally photo bombed our family photo kai kira and owen in the new south end zone we only stayed for the first half of the game but found my sister in the student section before we left we beat lamar 73 3 which was helped my brother celebrate his 30th birthday in houston we went to pete s piano bar i love piano bars such a fun night out the kiddos stayed in college station for the night thanks to the grandparents we certainly don t get out for an entire night without the kids very often so this was a great treat for us hooray for grandparents sisters brian s friends were a blast to party with can t believe summer is over this picture was taken on our last day of summer we did the same thing we did last year which was swim and then eat snow cones here s the kid s official first day of school photo this year adler is going to pre k at the same school as owen she barely missed the cut off for kindergarten but seems totally excited and ready owen is now in the second grade yeesh adler decided to try out gymnastics this fall instead of dance or soccer on her first day she grinned the entire class owen chose to play soccer this fall and has already started practicing as well and here is titus he is such a sweet dog we love him already i ve been taking him on off leash hikes and he s doing great he enjoys hiking much more than walking around the neighborhood we are so lucky to have part 2 here s a continuation of our trip to tahoe we spent the week staying at a house in south lake tahoe which gave us easy access to beaches hiking and good food ryder also stayed with us all week long and his parents joined us for the last few days on this day we chose to hike one of my favorite trails up to cascade falls the waterfall was wasn t much at this time of year but the views were spectacular bootie shot brenda kelly owen and ryder were really interested in rock climbing we had to stop them from climbing to the top of this cliff my kiddos relaxing in the sand here we are at pope beach where we spent a day relaxing with friends and paddle boarding micah caught in mid air this girl loves the water she just can t get enough and the colder the better our final beach day was spent at nevada beach micah helped the kids build this huge mound which quickly became the most popular spot on the beach on our last day in nevada we were pretty beached out so we headed to virginia city to eat at one of our favorite restaurants then we had some old timey photos taken just for fun finally dinner with our closest friends that night it was difficult to say goodbye and i still miss
