sad my excuse shall be that we no longer have access to the www at work any longer therefore i have much less time for blogging i m gonna try again people this is all i can promise you posted by leisa at friday january 08 2010 1 comments friday june 5 2009 my babies are growing up so much has been going on since the last time i blogged yes i know i m terrible at this the two most important things that have happened since the last time i blogged are that zach turned three years old and will graduated from kindergarten zach s birthday this year was very low key it fell on a tuesday michael and i both had to work and will had school but when we all got home we had a little birthday bash for him he was so excited to open presents and blow out his candles it is so hard for me to believe that he is now 3 years old he has become such a big boy he s been completely potty trained now for 5 months has moved out of his toddler bed into a big boy bed and is learning how to swim where has the time gone zach couldn t keep his hat on and yes will is drinking the ice cream idiot me left it in the car for an hour speaking of where the time has gone i really cannot believe that will is going to be a first grader starting august 3 of this year my sweet boy has learned and grown so much this past school year i never would have imagined he would have learned as much as he has in kindergarten it s definitely a lot different than it was when i was in school he has met or exceeded all of the expectations to make it to first grade his teachers told me that he is exceptional in his math skills is an excellent reader and has really developed his writing skills over the school year when i sent him into kindergarten he could write his name and all of his letters upper and lower case and his reading skills consisted of him making up stories to go with the pictures today he brought home his composition journal which is full of two to five sentence stories with illustrations that he has come up with on his own he has had two really awesome teachers for his first year of real school i couldn t ask for anyone better than mrs june and mrs katie we are really going to miss them next year although i m sure he ll get a great teacher next year as well i think that today being the last day of kindergarten has been harder on me than his first day was especially when will said his goodbyes to his friends and his teachers hopefully i ll have myself together by the time august 3 gets here with mrs june and mrs katie the cookie i made for his party on the last day one of the gifts we made for his teachers at kindergarten awards day now we are so excited for sweet summertime we plan to spend most days playing in the pool thank the lord for ma ma s to be here keeping them we have a few camping trips planned as well as taking the boat up to lake russell for fishing i wish i got a summer break from work so we could do these things every day posted by leisa at friday june 05 2009 1 comments monday april 6 2009 picture day this past saturday i took our boys to the state botanical gardens in athens to try to get some decent photos to share with family and friends i simply refuse to pay any photographer other than lisa bell milde to take photos of my family and unfortunately since she and i live so far away from each other we rarely get together for pics i think out of around 250 shots i got about 7 photos that are good enjoy and here are some of our rejects posted by leisa at monday april 06 2009 2 comments saturday march 7 2009 one week ago we were anxiously awaiting our winter wonderland oh how wonderful it it was and my children had such a great time playing in the snow the last of the snow was finally gone by yesterday afternoon today we had wonderful spring weather the boys had a great time playing outside without their winter gear we grilled out and enjoyed dinner on the deck by the pool i think i m starting to feel spring fever posted by leisa at big boy now this morning he wanted to put on his big boy spiderman underwear to my amazement he was still wearing those same undies when i returned home from work this evening he has gone to the potty all day long today on his own without being asked if he needs to go tonight at bedtime he would not give up the big boy undies but i am not confident enough for that yet so tonight he sleeps with big boy spidey and his pull up i am so proud yet so so sad posted by leisa at tuesday february 24 2009 0 comments saturday february 21 2009 i haven t blogged in a long time and lately i ve been a little pre occupied with what little free time i have with reading the twilight series which is awesome by the way and i can t wait to be able to see the movie not too much has been going on in the ulrich household zach is finally getting the potty thing although i m not too fond of him waking me up at 2 30 and 4 30 in the mornings to use the potty especially when half the time it takes him at least 5 to 10 minutes before he can actually go he is so proud of his big boy undies will continues to do really well in school he amazes me at the things he is learning at such a fast pace i can t wait until my parent teacher conference next week to hear more on how he is doing it makes me so proud when i see and hear him doing math and reading books that is something i know i didn t do when i was five years old last night we went to chuck e cheese a place i m really not too fond of because of the crowds and the germiness but of course the kids love it and we haven t been in about a year so i suppose it was time this was really the first time we ve gone where zach was really able to do a lot and enjoy himself here are a few pics from that and be sure to check out the video of zach hitting
