this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest saturday july 31 2010 t minus ten weeks and quick summer recap we ve had a crazy summer so far full of good byes peppered by mechanical malfunctions drama transition responsibility and most of all anticipation this fall we have kindergarten and a new kid coming to the house little sister will be making her entrance in just about ten weeks we re trying to shuffle things and prepare things and make a place for her haven t nailed down a name yet but we did order a crib so that s a start anyway here are some random shots of the summer so far preschool graduation silly silly fun matt heather amber allison justin jake richy before a rousing round of pop the balloon good times with fun buddies linus carter caleb oliver elizabeth and alli farewell to best buddies bye bye brookie family our first pittsburgh buddies sniff these two met when linus was about 10 weeks old and a hard goodbye to gerald linus pittsburgh grandpa on to sneak peeks at future buddies good times and more goodbyes three boys at the drive in movie good times the big goodbye at oakmont at least there were baked goods to drown our tears in carter marie linus caleb allison evan amber hayden oliver heather callum sneaky reminders that some friends are never really gone milestones reached grandma in town graduation patty richy marie and a very loosely relevant dr seuss book proof of status change new places to explore erie home again home again let s head to the strip to get some great stuff to engulf in smoke and flame for father s day thanks mark for the extra special effects not pictured is matt who generously helped us take care of all that beef moving on to some leaping water dogs at the big butler fair there was also a lot of fair fare good people watching shame on me for loving that part so much interesting accessories of rural life use your imagination you ll be close and some fun farm animals to see like a one day old calf and a lamb that was 30 minutes old but the boys mostly had their sights set on trucks big butler fair is comparable to christmas in sheer joyful anticipation for linus each year big rig day is a must at our house this year we got to take our buddy oliver along see you next year big rig day a few practice casts into the street jut in case he ends up fishing this summer a bit of the ol vacation bible school for good measure hero headquarters and all that elizabeth and linus to the rescue super caleb super linus super elizabeth super oliver wasn t feelin the camera right then and share to x share to facebook share to pinterest tuesday may 18 2010 happy birthday after our plans to play at the park were thwarted by mother nature we headed to the gymnasium at our church for warmer and drier fun and frivolity the sidewalk chalk and bubbles would have to be for another day anyway a cardboard rocket ship to pummel seemed like a decent substitute for fresh air and a playground while the kids gave it their all two or three times each it soon became apparent we needed the big guns it was the mama s turns two mamas got out a fair amount of aggression on the thing before the mama with the most est stepped up the plate that starship was no match for heather the scurry linus friends were more than generous with the gifts and friendly fun thanks guys when the party was over it turned out nobody really had anything else going on for the rainy cold afternoon so we grabbed some pizzas and just hung around and played it was a great day happy big five buddy
