boring pouting because mummy is boring she s right most of the time here lately i seem to be stuck in the whole lather rinse repeat cycle of work sleep repeat thanks to the coronapocalypse the produce stand has extended hours and is open 7 days a week this summer because demand is through the fucking roof so last week when i had mollie over to hang out with me we got out and about a little bit not too much because fuck the stupid heat we went to a park which apparently made miss mollie happy she kept stopping to roll in the grass the next day we explored the rv park a few times and we went to the cemetery behind the rv park the cemetery people don t mind us walking our dogs there as long as we pick up their poop i figured mollie s big poop earlier that afternoon had eliminated a need to take poopy bags with me wrong i had to make note of where it was so i could go back with a bag later the cemetery is fenced in except for the gates for the driveways so i let her wander off leash i let her lead the way we spent quite a while exploring the boundaries of the cemetery letting miss mollie smell all the things she wanted to sniff she even decided when we wandered back home luckily she found me an empty plastic ice bag that had blown into the cemetery during the last storm so i used that to scoop up her poop on the way out i think she had a good time exploring at her own pace sunday i didn t know how lucky i was until i heard some news yesterday afternoon news that had me shook a small town between my work and home got hit by a tornado sunday night this town is literally just a few minutes from the gas station where i huddled in my car listening to sunshine talk me through the storm which means i was most likely sitting in the inflow or outflow of the tornado that hit that small town when i think about the temperature change i m totally not surprised that there was a tornado sunday s temperatures were in excess of 100f after the hail relented enough for me to hit the road heading in the direction sunshine said would lead to safety i finally noticed the readings presented by my gauge idiot light display 69f that s a temperature difference of at least 31f in about 20 or 30 minutes that is prime conditions for severely nasty weather like hail and thunder and lightning and rotation i got fucking lucky y all also that kind of weather this time of year a weather tornado 18 comments weather and the coronapocalypse it s like mother nature has had her fill of us dumbass humans we are in the middle of a nightmare pandemic outbreak and the weather has gone buck stupid we had august like temperatures in july and august is looking more like our secondary severe weather season here in texas as i was getting ready to receive what little produce the boss had left over from the market he does each weekend storm clouds started gathering i didn t think much of it since we had some very mild thunderstorms last month and we could use some rain my first clue that this was more than just a mild thunderstorm showed up when the wind kicked up we had us a good ole dust storm going on i didn t get pics because we were rushing to deal with the stuff the boss brought back with him a few drops of rain splattered us as we got the shop ready to close up for the night but still nothing more than a bunch of wind until i got in the car to head home the boss called and told me i might want to pull over and wait it out stupid me thought it s just rain i ll take my chances i should have listened to the boss next thing i know i m on the road in a fucking hailstorm and the parking lots of all the fast food and gas stations were filling up fast i got to a gas station but couldn t get under the awning so i sat there on the phone with sunshine sunshine knew exactly what to do to calm me down he got my exact location and pulled up his radar app and told me which way to drive as soon as the hail slowed down enough i listened to him in spite of the panic that said don t drive in this shit he was right and i got through it quickly i started to relax and made my way home if only that were the end of my tale i might not be writing this post as i got ready to turn into my rv park i noticed the wind direction was right to bring the storm clouds to my left right at my rv park i battened down the hatches and heated up my dinner i was enjoying the hell out of my cheese tortellini and lovera s meatballs in a killer arrabiata sauce when the power started getting all wonky i got up and turned off the roof unit unplugged the microwave portable a c and laptop and plugged my phone in to charge when the storm hit i was unprepared for what was coming major winds started rocking the bus and i started texting my sponsor so i could talk myself out of my panic attack this rv was designed for highway speeds this rv has survived being hit by 80 mph winds broadside blah blah blah i convinced myself it was nothing and i got in the shower which was cold as fuck because the electricity gave up on being wonky and just said fuck it i turned the roof unit back on and turned off the overhead lights and went to sleep on the couch with my phone charging off of a battery backup as i left for work this morning i was shocked all of that was nothing i was on the road for about 10 seconds when i figured out why the power went out i was doing 80 so don t blink weather 7 comments casualties this past week has been kind of miserable for me i have had a cash flow crisis thanks to that missed week of work when i was so sick recently i ve had to really sit my ass at home and not spend any money not even on groceries good thing i had a hoard of food and that i work for a guy who lets me run a tab on fresh produce side note he also gave me a bunch of eggs for free and lets me do what i want with the ugly bruised stuff i have not gone hungry even during my worst cash flow crisis since i got clean sober 15 years ago thank you bossman since i haven t been able to shop there has been a mass casualty event with my hoard i ll start with food cornbread mix soup frozen breakfast items like bagels and pancakes and waffles and most of the family pack of smoked sausage all gone i also got rid of some canned green peas during the marathon mollie meal making that went on here side note sunshine said miss mollie loves her mollie meals and she is even eating the dry food i got from mike at petwants yaya mollie yay mummy yay petwants and yay sunshine we are doing a decent job of getting miss mollie healthier i ripped through quite a bit of paper towels during that marathon mollie meal making that went on but i still have far more paper towels than i really need i have no defense for this heinous act of hoarding insanity so i m going to change the subject now i trashed some fish sticks out of the freezer they had a strange texture like if i wanted to eat rubber i d munch on a sneaker bye bye fish sticks speaking of sneakers i trashed my adidas when i got home from work took off my shoes and almost yarfed those shoes had to go i ve had my feet smell a bit funny once or twice but it s always been a mild weird pickle sort of smell the stench coming from those adidas was so horrific that i took them straight to the dumpster that taught me to avoid outlet shoes for the rest of my days they were made of pleather which doesn t allow any air circulation at all from now on only leather or breathable fabric shoes for me pickled feet smell i can cope with stinky pleather adidas i cannot i have also had mass casualties in the makeup and toiletry hoard i finished off a gigantic bottle of hair conditioner after several months of trying to use that fucker up it smelled good and worked well but the bottle was huge and my shower is microscopic so i m glad it s gone i trashed an eyeliner pencil because it was too pencilly it also wore off far too easily i have gotten addicted to e l f retractable eyeliner because it has a nice soft gel like feel to it and it mostly stays in place with the exception of extremely sweaty days which truly have to be extreme to make thus stuff go away i trashed a couple of eyeshadow crayons too one just would not stay in place the other was just plain past its use by date and had to go i m slowly using up the toilet paper hoard and i ve found a use for the adult butt wipes that irritate my skin now a peek into my closet i had to trash a linen tshirt because it had blackberries smashed all over my left boob and there is no getting that stain out so bye bye purple shirt i had to get rid of a pink shirt for much the same reason i trashed a pair of linen joggers because the elastic in the waistband got all twisted up like a moebius strip in between the layers of knit fabric and it would not cooperate with my efforts to unfuck it so bye bye stupid pants i feel good about the progress i m making working through the hoard it sucks using mint flavored toothpaste but it has saved me from having to buy toothpaste during the last couple of weeks while i ve been broke as fuck the eyeliner sucked too but i was ok with trashing that because it was too pencilly and kind of hurt my eyelids as i applied it using up my hoard is definitely supposed to be uncomfortable mint toothpaste but it shouldn t be painful pencilly eyeliner i haven t been using up as much of the pantry hoard as i feel i should but i also know that i will be using up a lot of that stuff when the weather is cooler and firing up the stove and oven won t suck i ve given myself a pass on some of this stuff pain may be necessary suffering is optional and i m not suffering because of this hoarding i ve been doing i ve even been crocheting stuff to sell at work so i can destash some yarn and keep myself occupied so i don t go out and spend money if it puts some cash back in my bank account all the better while this past few weeks of financial difficulties have certainly been unfun they have also been
