Text of the page (random words):
the flash so excited to go to the next house he didn t always say trick or treat but he almost always said thank you after he got the candy sometimes he has good manners even though he knows his numbers and what more means he didn t understand why people told him he could have more then one when he went to one house they told him he could have two h grabbed one they told him to pick another so he dropped the first one and picked another don t worry when this happened i stepped in a made sure he got the right amount we went to alpine with sarah and luke s families in my parents neighborhood i was great happy halloween ya ll posted by the ellis fam at 10 30 pm no comments saturday october 13 2012 great basin national park this marks our 8th national park this year mark had took a week off and we went to nevada holy cow i was cold we knew it would be cold so we packed for it but seriously it s nevada how cold could it really get really cold there are many people who haven t heard of great basin so i will tell you a bit about it this is the home of lehman cave along with some other caves and to the second highest peak in nevada wheeler peak elevation 13 063 and it grows bristlecone pine trees which are the oldest living organisms in the world sounds pretty cool right it was but i found it hard to fully enjoy myself because of the cold mark and scott don t mind the cold as much as i do so they enjoyed themselves i think we are going to go back in the spring and try it again we really would love to try hiking to the top of wheeler peak it s also kinda on the way to yosemite national park it s about four hours from salt lake city so not too far enjoy the pictures mark is loving our new camera and loves to take pictures of everything 10 times so sorry if there is an over load of pictures scott was still tired at our early morning departure so he pulled all the pillows on him and eventually fell asleep mark loves to take pictures of the road pretty much annoying but the roads in nevada or on the way to nevada are pretty comical to me now long stretches of road into the mountains with not much scenery around i used to hate the drive but this trip was kinda funny making it with mark mark is getting pretty good at taking pictures starting to get an artistic eye he likes to go on hikes by himself now with the camera every time he comes back the pictures are better then before me helping scott cross the stream he has my balance luckily because we had some close calls wheeler peak a bristlecone pine tree they don t have bark and they look like they are dying but really they are alive and have been for millinia in some cases crazy don t you love how knotty and swirly they are scott was able to go on vacation but he had some work to do still he loves that ipad and has learned so much form the games on it i came across this while on a hike i wondered how all these pine needles could fall in a perfect pile with no pine tree above it but on closer inspection i we found huge red ants biggest ant pile i ve ever seen the rest of the pictures are from lehman cave it was by far the coolest part of the trip we were so lucky to have gotten to go through the long tour that went through all the rooms instead of the shorter tour that we paid for since we had scott with us we could only go on the shorter tour because they don t let children under five into parts of the cave but when we would have turned around the tour guild said she would just this once because she was in a good mood take us all the way through the cave i think it was because we held scott the whole time and wouldn t let him touch anything oddly enough he was great when mark held him but not so much when i did the last three pictures are from the furthest room of the extended tour awesome posted by the ellis fam at 3 09 pm 3 comments labels great basin national park national parks thursday october 4 2012 see you later this morning my grandma horn left she went to a place that is better then here a place full of peace and love and beauty she left behind three daughters one being my mom i love my grandma she is such a wonderful woman one i have looked up to my whole life she is so sophisticated and gracious her home was one of those places that was full of love the moment you walked in she loved to travel and she would pick up things from her travels spread throughout her home along with little pieces that my brothers and sisters and cousins had given her she had pictures of my mom and aunts up from graduation that looked so pretty and i always wished i could be in a picture like that she had all these barbies from when my mom was younger the ones that had lashes oh i loved those barbies i loved the unicorns she had spread throughout her house ask her what her favorite animal was and she would say unicorns we used to try to tell her that they weren t real and she would tell us some story to say that they were she also loved birds she had one for a while but what i loved were the figurines of birds around the house between the unicorns and the birds and all the other trinkets it felt like her house was grand fairy land but the most majestic part was her yard she had the most amazing gardens everything she touched grew as a little girl being there my imagination could go faster then any rocket when i was in high school i had a really bad experience with a teacher who made me loose confidence in my ability to write papers when i got to college and took my first english class i was required to write a paper big surprise right it was a short one and the topic was our favorite childhood memory i was so scared but when i finally picked my topic i found the words flowing out of me i wrote about her garden and the joys of playing in it with my little ponies i not only got an a on the paper but the professor read the entire paper to the class saying that s what she expected from here on out i was so grateful for such inspiration i never got to give her a copy of that paper she probably would have liked to have read it one of my favorite memories with her was when we got to sleep over at her house she would take two of us at a time and she would take us shopping we got to pick out our own dinner just a microwave dinner but we never got to eat those at home and they were so good back then she would also let us pick out our own box of cereal we didn t get cold cereal too often at home she would let us rent our own movie not one for the both of us but our very own so no one could tell us to get something different then what we wanted on top of all that we got to buy something for 10 that was a lot when you re a kid and i swear it could buy more then it can now if it wasn t our turn to go we were always so jealous of whose turn it was to stay it wasn t because of all the things she would buy for us it was because of how special she made us feel i have middle child syndrome and sometimes i felt like a number but grandma never made me feel that way she never forgot our names at least i never thought she did she would always call us little hummer i see now that was her way of avoiding the sar ann ka caroline we all thought we were her little hummer i am very wordy can you tell everyone always teased me about it even mark does still whenever i would start to tell a story people would tell me to tell the short version not grandma she would listen to me i loved telling her facts every time we got together she would tell me to tell her a new fact i would save them up as i learned them to tell them to her she would say alright caroline tell me something new she made me feel smart i hated school and reading but if we were going to grandma s i would listen up or open a book so i could tell her something and each time she would ask for it i want to be like that i want to help people feel important make sure people feel loved she is a beautiful lady with an amazing light she has shared that light with me and i will take it and share it with those around me so it will never go out her light will shine forever if i continue to share that love with others she is in a better place now giving her love to others still i know that i love you grandma see you later posted by the ellis fam at 7 00 pm 2 comments tuesday october 2 2012 scott s first day of school since scott is now 3 we will no longer have therapists come to our house to play with him he will be going to preschool now i don t love the idea of my baby leaving me so soon but i m trying to deal with it here he is before leaving thinking this is just going to be a normal day he was playing angry birds scott has a sixth sense of knowing when something important is about to happen he had a melt down right when i stopped the car i tried to tell him we were going to school to have fun he had melt downs before and during all his testing and appointments maybe he hears my heart starting to race with worry of how he ll react whatever it is he has not missed an opportunity to throw a fit with every test or appointment he calmed down and we were able to walk into school he even seemed excited for a little bit he is so cute with his back pack such a big boy he had another melt down right before we went into the class room the teacher came out and helped me get him in the class room but he continued to cry after in there with the toys i decided i needed to leave because i knew that i could calm him down but i also knew that he would start crying again the second i started to leave again so teachers stepped in and i made a quick get away i stayed outside the door with tears in my eyes waiting for him to stop crying leaving was one of the hardest things i ve had to do i want so much for scott to grow up but it seems to happen so slow in some areas the areas i want him to grow in and so fast in the other areas the areas i want to slow down here he is with his teacher after school he was so happy to see me that he had another melt down before we could get into the car i think he will love going to school soon once he learns the rules and we get into the routine of it his teachers are really nice and i am confident in their ability to teach him new things the goal is to get him ready for kindergarten in 3 years we are going to get more testing done and depending on what we find out we may need to add more to his education plan but for now i know that this is what is right for scott mark and i had a really hard time figuring out where we should live after he finished school we only wanted to keep one car and we wanted to try to save money on rent we looked into apartments right next to mark s work right in to center of downtown we really wanted to make it work there but we didn t feel good about it i remember feeling so over whelmed that i decided to stop looking for a while mark started looking and found the place we are in now i never would have looked at this place because it is so far away from mark s work but we live right next to the trax station that mark takes to work i love this area but mark and i have recently realized that scott may be the reason why we felt good about living this far away jordan school district is one of the best in the state not long after we moved here they contacted us after receiving his info from ddi and wanted to make sure he wasn t lost in the transition they worked so hard to get him all the tests he needed to start preschool on time he protested a lot but they were so patient and kind in working with us we feel so blessed to be here and get scott the help he needs it s nice knowing we are where we are supposed to be posted by the ellis fam at 9 50 am no comments friday september 28 2012 scott turns 3 happy birthday scott he just turned the big boy 3 i can hardly believe it scott started talking this year and has been progressing great he is still behind in many areas but now that he is 3 he will be starting preschool in a few days this kid loves to run and jump i d say those are his all time favorite things to do he loves to play tag too he loves dinosaurs especially the t rex he knows all the dinosaur names thanks to dads jurassic park game on the ipad and watching almost every single episode of dinosaur train he also still loves animals and has started to be interested in insects he loves to read books he has started climbing things this year i didn t mind to begin with mark and i both were great climbers as kids and scott has his mom s sense of balance and knows his limits for the most part but he is getting more and more courageous with the things he tries and the heights he takes kinda freaking me out now scott learned his abc s earlier this year along with their sounds and is now learning how to trace them on the ipad he also loves playing angry birds on our phones he is growing so fast that it s hard to keep up with him especially in the clothes department he has been in 4t for the last 6 months at his doctors appointment we found out his stats height 39 4 inches 90 weight 34 5 lbs 80 bmi 40 he throws a lot of fits still and we are looking to get further tests done on better ways to help him he loves to learn but often doesn t understand the process things are done being scott s mom is the hardest and the best thing i have ever done it s been a wonderful 3 years mark and i wouldn t trade this time with you for anything scott eating his birthday breakfast chocolate donate with sprinkles is his favorite that is the part that has the frosting once that s gone he is done well after breakfast it was time to get ready to party i talked mark into taking the day off of work to do something with scott i wanted this day to be super special for my big boy so we had to do something that he had never done something that would make his jaw drop something that would make him so happy he wouldn t think of throwing a fit for some kids that might be disneyland but not scott there was only one place that filled these standards and that is the dinosaur museum at thanksgiving point let me tell you it did not disappoint his jaw dropped right when he saw those dinosaurs on the walls he got the biggest grin on his face and then something amazing happened he was quiet he was speechless he wasn t shy or overly anxious he was just calmly waiting for me to take him to heaven it was perfect when we got there we saw tons of kids outside eating lunch i was so paranoid that it would be crowded because scott does not do well with crowds well someone loves us up there because we got there right after the crowd left and we were pretty much alone in all the rooms scott knows pretty much all the dinosaur names he was pointing them out to us and telling us what they were he knows more then i do and reminds me all the time what they are i love the look of wonder on his face everything was so big he got to wear one of his new school shirts today we had to this was the most crowded spot of the museum with about 7 other kids but i m pretty sure that the kids befor...
