rejoicing in him thoughts on scripture books life rejoicing in him thoughts on scripture books life august 17 2026 by markdoreenstewart receipts from the bookshop by katie clapham this was an unusual book there were things i appreciated about it it had a lot of information into what it s like as an independent bookshop it was a good reminder to keep supporting them in an age where so many have switched to digital or stopped reading books altogether i also appreciated the sentiment that giving a book is giving an adventure or an experience it s sharing something of yourself that said it was an odd book there wasn t a plot to speak of it made a point of saying she was married and it wasn t really a part of the story until the very end i wondered how does a book without a plot end it was strange i think some would enjoy it but i don t think it s for everyone thank you to william morrow for providing me with a free e copy of this book all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged bookstores katie clapham leave a comment august 9 2026 by markdoreenstewart target down by ryan steck ryan steck is one of my favorite military fiction authors he ranks right up there with andrews wilson i think matthew redd is a great hero he thinks on his feet and will do anything to protect his family and accomplish his mission these books would make a great movie series there s a lot of action and real urgency i appreciate the brotherhood he has with mikey and now aaron i laughed at mikey at the end of the book as he realized what he missed it s nice to read a male author s books there is more detail in the battles and in the weapon descriptions it just has a different feel if you read a lot of female authors it s a nice change i hope the ai element that was introduced is not real although i fear it might be scary stuff i liked how brynn dealt with finding out her father wasn t just the man who tucked her in at night he was the man people feared in the dark location 283 she could have easily folded but was forced to step up emily too is a very strong capable woman and a perfect fit for matt thank you to tyndale fiction for providing me with a free e copy of this book i d highly recommend it and could barely put it down all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged a matthew redd thriller fbi military fiction russian bratva ryan steck leave a comment august 8 2026 by markdoreenstewart the christmas book flood by roseanna m white i thoroughly enjoyed this story anders and tatiana were so fun and good to people it s always lovely when two kind unassuming people get together they saw the best in each other from the start i enjoyed the publishing house setting i have always wanted to work in a publishing house or somewhere around books and packing books for christmas gifts sounded like a good although probably stressful time it was fun learning more about the christmas traditions in iceland as well this is a quick read but the characters seemed very well developed for a novella i d recommend it thank you to tyndale house for providing me with a free e copy of this novella all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged christmas iceland novella publishing house roseanna m white wwii august 4 2026 by markdoreenstewart autumn at the cat cafe by kathleen fuller while i am not a cat person i do like quirky places and people i love small towns and interconnected people i liked the fact that the cat cafe had cats a person could check out for an hour to read with or to i liked that they had all kinds of special activities i was intrigued by the thought of making an autumn bucket list of activities i am going to make my own this fall and maybe one for every season thereafter i love books and the thought of getting to organize a whole store full of books would be a dream i liked both via and leo a lot and appreciated their acknowledging their feelings right away it made for an interesting dynamic their families are polar opposites and i liked seeing the growth in both of them in relation to their families and each other it was a fun read thank you to thomas nelson for providing me with a free e copy of this book all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged book stores cat cafe cats kathleen fuller romance august 2 2026 by markdoreenstewart a mismatch made in london by melanie dickerson i enjoyed this book a lot it had glimmers of pride and prejudice in some of the things that happened but they were still different enough while i ve always liked the idea of the balls and calling on people this book made me glad i don t live in an age of rumors killing a family s reputation forever or being forced to marry because you are seen with someone without a chaperone i liked juliet although she was a bit naive amelia felt loved only when she was needed i don t feel that totally was resolved or that she really understood what true love is based on she was a bit wishy washy she was prepared to accept a proposal in very short order at one point and then later couldn t decide for what felt a long time i liked mr shelley a lot he was wise and kind and loving jeremy has things to learn too about trying to control too much but i felt he really did learn and grow it was a fun read and i d recommend it thank you to bethany house for providing me with a free e copy of this book all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged melanie dickerson pride prejudice regency london romance august 1 2026 by markdoreenstewart the spy keeper of marseille by roseanna m white this was a beautiful book zelie is part of a resistance alliance in wwii that uses artists and other people who move about in society to gather information to pass on to the allies she willingly sends her children away knowing that she would bring danger to them and she is fighting for their future when marcel comes into her life he sees her sacrifice and the weight she carries he sees what others don t that she has nowhere to turn for her own mental health and support he becomes that for her and it is so poignant at one point he is joyful that he can sacrifice for her well being it was so moving i loved the way he cared for zelie even before she realized he was as with all white s books there s something to learn about wwii it was fascinating seeing how the alliance moved about trying to complete their mission and their determination to start over again and again when they hit obstacles despite the incredible cost it s inspiring it challenged me it s good to read books like this that cause you to think about what you d do in a similar situation it was a great read and i d highly recommend it thank you to tyndale fiction for providing me with a free e copy of this book all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged historical fiction resistance romance roseanna m white sacrifice wwii july 30 2026 by markdoreenstewart insurgent by andrews wilson the tier one thrillers are my favorite military fiction series i love that there are so many interconnected books that i can jump right in and remember all the players they are a great group and have incredible chemistry they are the people you want defending your country i hope there are real life equivalents out there i am excited about the hints for chunk and jake s futures the planning and conviction to do whatever is necessary even with crazy risks is amazing on team ember s part they always seem to be thinking four steps ahead which is necessary when going up against insidious foreign enemies the attacks get more and more bold and extreme and the consequences could be catastrophic it was an exciting read and i didn t want it to end i can t wait for the next book in the series thank you to blackstone publishing for providing me with a free e copy of this book i d highly recommend it to lovers of military fiction all opinions are my own posted in book review july 22 2026 by markdoreenstewart a lady s handbook to gadgets and guile by angela bell men as is common knowledge make a lady s life rather complicated location 562 how had margaret never noticed that charles was a prime example of the golden ratio the man was handsome mathematically so location 2956 i enjoyed the way this author wrote and the way the ladies of the d o g s thought it was entertaining there also were some serious lessons to be learned about asking for and receiving help serving others being vulnerable and open and trusting in the one who stood beside her in the flames instead of delivering her from them location 332 it was poignant and heartwarming margaret can t imagine that anyone would see her as anything more than a burden when charles is immediately attracted to her she can t believe it could be possible it was beautiful watching him subtly care for her there s a mystery to be solved all of the inventions sounded fascinating i would truly love to see them this was an all around good read i enjoyed it thank you to bethany house for providing me with a free e copy of this book all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged a daughters of genius society novel angela bell inventors mystery july 9 2026 by markdoreenstewart the bachelor spy by pepper basham i think grace is an incredible heroine she is so eager for adventure and solving mysteries she tells her staff to read more mysteries to better help them when strange things occur and it pays off i love that freddie doesn t try to stifle her or humor her but actively joins in with her the relationship between the butler and grace was special too it s incredible it felt so wrong for freddie to not be there with grace at the beginning but it was realistic and i m glad there were events to change things this was a great mystery and it was fun seeing all the different people trying to figure out answers to various questions thank you to barbour fiction for providing me with a free e copy of this book all opinions are my own posted in good and pleasant to listen to it was easy to follow the story i liked both griffin and aria despite being famous they were very down to earth it was kind of sad to hear and understand how hard it is for someone like that to have an honest friendship with someone who isn t looking for what they can gain from them i also liked that from the start what was supposed to be a fake friendship never felt fake they had immediate rapport and chemistry it was satisfying seeing the characters grow in seeing and being who they are apart from their fame it was an enjoyable listen the only drawback for me was the swift kelce parallel i like griffin aria better thank you to thomas nelson for providing me with a free audiobook i d recommend it all opinions are my own posted in book review tagged football
