are actually helpful and a total time saver although i haven t tried all the gadgets i post i can t wait to try them someday here s one that i have tried and although it s not too crazy it is a total celebration drink because of the beautiful bubbly nature of it when drinking this fabulous drink it is necessary to have a beautiful glass to match this fun drink here are a few of my favorites you could do a beautifully etched champagne flute like the library stemware from pottery barn if you re feeling a little futuristic you could go with this nambe flute appropriately named the bubbly flute pretty connected not only did our moms grow up together but courtney and her husband live directly across the street from my sister and her husband and our best friends julia and lawson happen to live down the street as well so long story short we have taken advantage of this close proximity and created what we like to call llc lafayette lawn club it s still relatively new but we essentially all take turns at each other houses and make fabulous meals and once the texas heat dies down play bocce ball our favorite past time this past dinner was at my sister and brother in law s house and it was we aren t talking about the kind of marg that comes out of a machine slushy style those are made with beer and are usually an otherworldly shade of green que loco we are referring to margaritas authenticas that means no bs like tooty fruity flavorings pre packaged powder mixes or any strange colorings this the color you are going for if it s blue or neon yellow it ain t authentico the marg we love most down here in south texas is simple fresh and easy to prepare you need 5 things 1 really good tequila always top shelf the bad stuff will make you feel muy malo 2 limes limes limes squeezed fresh fresh fresh 3 cointreau or any other orange flavored liquor triple sec works here as well 4 simple syrup or agave nectar 5 salt for the rim we like to mix ours up this way add a third of tequila a third of fresh lime juice and a third of cointreau to a pitcher add as much simple syrup or agave nectar as you would like but don t overdo it we like them with just a hint of sweetness but not too sugary stir well and serve over ice in salt rimmed glasses a real marg is always served on the rocks these glasses from melissa guerra s amazing latin cookware store in san antonio are our
