70s and no wind strava track here i stopped at a pocket beach to do some beach combing i only took one buoy but there were a lot of choices its often very windy here but on this day it was fairly still i saw a school of really big stripped bass time to get a fishing license there was a cormorant rookery up on the cliffs the babies are getting big and should be on their own soon truth you only same stunning scenery good friends great food we have done trips on both sides of la bufadora this week swell has been pretty big most days i paddled a long way out to release the bottle hopefully it from the south there were some good waves throughout the buttermilk channel i had planned to do a little touring before but some of the post bike kill party people decided to tag our storage container sunday march 02 2025 release date 3 2 2025 i released this message off of abaco in the bahamas while on a trip on friend s sailboat tilia we had been cruising for a few days and were about halfway through our trip it has been a great trip lots of fun conversation and adventures i hired a guide to take us lobster spearing this turned out to be a lot more complex than i thought it would be i assumed being able to spear the lobsters would make it trivial but the freediving in conjunction with the primitive hawaiian sling spear system made it a challenge and it took a while berfore i got the hang of it we also did some beach combing on a very remote piece of land and found an amazing number of these fish trays my initial impulse was to collect them all and cut out the nameplates but calmer heads prevailed and we just took pictures subsequent research proved that most of these came all the way from morocco the strava track vastly underestimates how difficult it was to walk on the out on the water so i decided to start releasing messages in bottles i release one when i can usually when kayaking or diving i recycle bottles that i find as litter on the beach i usually put money in the bottle to attract attention in the hopes that someone will pick it up i then offer a 20usd reward for a return message i am fascinated by beachcoming i have found some pretty cool stuff over the years the more i look through trash on the beach i have started picking up more and more not just the good stuff but just regular trash the amount of trash humans have put in the ocean is really
