over new york but vero with her post about style today prompted me to write this one honestly i have been thinking of writing it since i came back from norway after 3 months there with only one suitcase but the inspiration kicked in only now thank you vero this summer i went to norway for two summer months which turned out to be three months and very diverse ones i packed well to be prepared for what a norwegian summer may bring two pairs of jeans and a hoodie a rain jacket some cardigans a pair of sneakers because this is just how summer in norway can be and it was greeting me with cold and rain i also threw in a pile of t shirts three pair of sandals why three i still don t know why i never used them all a summer dress and a pair of shorts what i wasn t prepared for is that we spontaneously had to stay one month more which was september and september took us very fast from a mild autumn to almost winter september in oslo was suddenly colder than december in barcelona and i had to do some urgent shopping a light winter jacket a beanie and gloves were just essential for survival i also had to buy two sweaters since i had none and my biggest problem was jeans i was tired of using all the same jeans over three months and my man said just go buy some new haha if he only knew that finding your perfect jeans is like finding your perfect man nothing is as difficult as not 10 not very awesome and even not really tips but after having read some popular blogs and various advice lists i just had to come up with the list of my own honest and hopefully effective no more intro here they are make it your special to start every post by addressing your readers in the same way preferably like if you were talking to puppies example hello cuties lovelies babes if you want to use somebody s idea say that you were inspired and thus you can also leave out the person s name write lists people love lists even if they don t know it they love lists instead of using words like inspiration maybe it s the apathetic vibe of autumn or maybe i think too much when i d hear you think too much i d always smile superiorly of course but now i ask myself if this is not always such an advantage as i used to see it sometimes i find myself in this philosophical mood when everything seems just a fuss with no meaning for example when i say it would be good to do more blogging again there is this voice in me that says and what is the meaning of it why do you want to do it to get popular once we have discarded this idea long time ago to build a community and what will it give you reasons for happiness the autumn sun in my window the violet flowers on the balcony the green plants inside yoga in the morning a pink coffee cup with a cactus on it there are days when i feel neither up or down somewhere inbetween like today maybe it is the sign of autumn because i feel as my usual enthusiasm goes down to rest together with the light and temperature i had a short walk in my our journey and decided to take a day trip to florence especially after finding out that the new train line allowed to reach it in just 1 5 hours i visited florence once on my 5 day trip through italy some 7 years ago but that was the time when a train ride took almost three hours i enjoyed it a lot listening to eros ramazzoti on my ipod and watching the italian fields flow by this time i googled day trips from rome and was lucky to find a blog that recommended florence and italo trains that take you there because this new speed train takes just one and a half hour which makes it perfect for a day trip the blog said that they are punctual too we had a different experience with it as you will see why not go because it was easter and there were tourists everywhere i proposed to go on monday when the crowds would start to go back to their homes but this easter rome got really unlucky with the weather you can find my report on it here and we had to change our plans i was checking the weather forecast every three hours and saw that easter sunday was due to be rainy in rome but not in florence this is how our decision was made we escape the rain and go to the beautiful florence weather only bad clothes goes the popular norwegian saying that is right and it is also wrong i would say that there is a weather that makes you feel down while the sunshine makes the body to produce another happy hormone serotonin the darkness leads to production of melatonin a hormone that makes us tired and passive which is necessary at night so we can fall asleep in autumn there is less light which makes us feel down sleepy and passive that s why it is important to meet the season prepared with good knowledge of yourself and some strategies during those few days i was in barcelona it was so easy to wake up and feel enthusiasm even though it was hard to fall asleep because of the unruly thoughts about the political situation it was enough to see sun rays through the window and feel the rush of energy when i was landing in norway my eyes were so in love with the colors of autumn and i joyfully breathed in the cool crispy air few rainy days later and i was afraid of s a d seasonal affective disorder creeping on me as it used to do in the past years luckily i had made a list of activities that i was looking forward to this autumn my list of joy i feel moved to share its ideas
