the hopes the hopes friday january 19 2018 three things i am grateful for today 1 shay gave me a blessing i was told to work hard and everything would be taken care of a friend was feeling the law school blues i recommended that she get one too she gave me a hug and said thank you i am grateful for the priesthood 2 went on friday night date with shay we go on a date every friday shay makes me happy and i love being with him i am grateful for shay and friday night dates 3 i am grateful for my scriptures i have noticed that my day is so much better if i read my scriptures in the morning posted by misty at 9 28 pm no comments saturday november 4 2017 ugh i have been in law school for almost 3 months today i am feeling low it sort of beats the hopes and dreams out of you we have 5 weeks until finals i know nothing today and i don t know how i will know anything by the time they get here i have so many things i should be doing that i shut down after 12 hours and watch a show then go to bed i really only have the capacity to do the reading and work due the next day when can i study i am unsure about how this is going to turn out i guess i need to buckle down and stay at school until 9 every night a few weeks of that and i may go insane i think it is my only option i am concerned about getting depressed in one of my classes the teacher mentioned the increased rate of depression in law students it actually made me more depressed the numbers are not pretty 8 of students entering law school suffer depression and 40 suffer depression after 3 years of law school i was lying in bed trying to fall asleep the other night when i thought i feel my soul going dark why does anyone do this ugh and i really mean that exclamation point i am trying to do the things that will help me overcome those feelings shay bought me a treadmill i hope to be able to do my reading and walk at the same time i do about 3 4 hours of reading a day i think that will help i try to read my scriptures and pray every morning i pray during the day as well i am trying not to fear but it keeps coming back i am trying that is all that i have to offer today posted by misty at 8 51 am no comments sunday february 12 2017 i love the temple i made a goal a few years ago to go to the temple 8 times in one month i have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to complete this goal when i made it i was homeschooling all 5 of my kids and would attend once a month but 8 times seemed too tough to complete this january i felt like i could finally do it a big part of completing goals is setting them then setting your mind and heart on finishing them i had some neat experiences with the spirit and loved going so often i seemed to be able to get everything else that i needed to get done during the week one day i went to the temple and sat in the parking lot i felt like i should wait and not go in i sat and thought for a minute then the phone rang it was adam he was sick and needed me to come get him it was nice to listen to that prompting and know the holy ghost has my back i love the peace and love that come from the temple it is a blessing in my life posted by misty at 10 50 am no comments thursday january 12 2017 it is done what is it my byu law school application i had so many really cool experiences with the spirit during this process the last one being today i have been waiting for one transcript in order to apply i ordered them all in november two came in but one did not i reordered in december i have been anxiously waiting to be able to send in my application and get it off my to do list i have been praying for it to come through and wondering if i needed to reorder it a few times i have felt that i wanted to put somewhere on my application that i intend to obtain little to no debt in law school through self funding scholarships and paid externships but i couldn t think of a good place to put it so i just left it out when i was leaving the temple today i felt an impression that if i would go home and add that to my personal statement that the transcript would be processed and i could submit today i decided that i would do it as soon as i got home i added the information and opened up my lsac account and sure enough my transcript was there i submitted my application for byu law school today according to the lsac calculator i have a 30 chance of admission i am unsure what will happen the odds are not great but it is exciting just to have completed the requirements and applied to byu posted by misty at 1 29 pm no comments cruise for christmas last year grandpa and grandma hope took us all to disney land and a cruise to mexico it was an amazing trip and we had a ton of fun grandpa clark came too that is me in the green
