remain sane in a house full of chaos saturday june 26 2010 oh my gravy wow once again i have let this blog get way too far behind i m not going to lie to you i ve thought of writing several times but have been wait for it too busy i know color you surprised right any who lots to talk about but it s late so i ll just give you a little somethin somethin so you don t totally hate me and then i ll try notice i didn t promise i m learning to write more this coming week this one s for you alicia here is a recent conversation between me and my children adam jr avery s you re favorite go ahead and admit it me no she s not i don t have favorites avery to adam jr no you re her favorite because you were the first born she says as actual tears fill her sad sad eyes me if you guys have to know the truth aidan s my favorite and this is why he never says either of you are my favorite and doesn t cause me any grief at that point i get a roll of the eyes from both of them and the conversation continues me actually it s because whenever i say anything to aidan his response is oh right that s how he pronounces alright where as adam tells me whatever i have said is either not funny or lame while avery on the other hand just says whateve rolls her eyes slaps her hand on her hip and strikes a pose like she s just reached the end of a runway it s quite aggravating and it is the reason that at the moment he is my favorite they both pretend to have hurt feelings i begin to feel guilty tell them obviously i really don t have any favorites but if i were to have one i would pick the one person who hasn t given me attitude in the past 24 hours they both walk off annoyed and i m fairly certain rolling their eyes aidan would win by default the other two just can t help themselves hmm maybe they re onto something maybe i do have a favorite just kidding all moms know there is no such thing as a favorite that would be completely unfair and i am the epitome of fairness in fact i don t comments labels random thursday february 18 2010 yikes i can t believe february is almost over i had been meaning to post my new years resolutions but seeing as one of them was to post on my blog more often it s probably pointless i do however resolve to allow myself to not get everything done right now perfectly and be okay with it i have such a problem feeling like i have to do everything just right or it doesn t count you know what i mean for instance if i vacuum i have to make sure the vacuum lines are visible and that i didn t miss one spot if i miss a spot i feel like i didn t really clean it s not enough to look clean i have to know it s clean ocd i know but i can t help it another example would be closets you know short sleeve s can t mix with long sleeves and lighter colors should go to the front and darker colors to the back oh and don t even think of putting pants and skirts together they don t get along sad i know i gave up on the adams years ago but i was still pretty good about keeping avery and aidan s closets organized well you ll be happy to hear the colors are all kinds of mixed together in avery s closet but i do have to admit shirts are still separated according to sleeves and skirts don t hangout with them it s a start though anyways i realize that all this obsessing really stresses me out and wastes a lot of my precious time so i m trying to be a little more relaxed i just hope i don t get so relaxed that my house ends up turning into a dump eee gads that would be horrible what was the point of this post oh yeah there isn t one just wanted to give a quick update but got sidetracked by resolutions i don t think i have any others this one is big enough lol well update on the kids adam has his last basketball game of the season next monday he s done really well i m really impressed he s loved it too avery is home sick with a stomach bug yuck i think she s getting better though so keep your fingers crossed she s doing really well in school and her teacher adores her so i m really thankful for that you have no idea how thankful aidan has become quite the little talker he s starting to give avery a run for her money he used to sit back and listen to her stories now he ll tell her things like avery i was talking you need to let me finish and he does it with an angry voice well i should go finish the laundry hopefully i ll post pictures from the recent snow day we had but i wouldn t hold my breath if i were you posted by sonia at 11 34 am 2 comments tuesday january 5 2010 snow and aidan s play mat i also wanted to post these pictures from christmas eve and christmas day we were fortunate enough to have a texas white christmas it was really beautiful and the kids enjoyed it although christmas morning aidan didn t want any part of it he was more excited about playing with his new toys than playing in the freezing snow that he had experienced the day before i was happy to oblige and stayed in with him avery s face in the last picture pretty much covers how i was feeling about the weather too it s pretty but my joints just can t take it also there is a picture of the play mat we as a family made for aidan to play with his cars on it was a lot more work than i had anticipated and we didn t even finish it hence the unpainted mountains he loved it anyway and i m sure i will finish it at some point hopefully sooner rather than later but we all worked on it together without him knowing and it was a lot of fun he better keep it for his kids to play with too after all of our hard work i told adam jr that after i die it s his job to make sure aidan s grand kids play with it too lol seriously it was a lot of work but i know he appreciates it so that makes it worth it posted by sonia at 11 43 am 3 comments christmas eve and christmas day 2009 well this has been a most interesting year one with more challenges and struggles than i care to admit we were even unsure about how we were going to make christmas happen for our kids this year up until the very end thankfully it all worked out and our kids got what they asked for and more and i learned a valuable lesson to be grateful for what we have and to remember that christmas is not about the gifts it s about our saviour s birth obviously i knew that i ve just always gotten caught up in the material aspect of it that the spiritual part gets pushed aside if that makes sense so it was good for me to have less to spend and to be able to focus more on the reason for the season so to speak i had several angels placed in my path this month and they really helped me to make it through and served as constant reminders to me to be grateful for what i have and for what jesus birth means to me personally i don t think i could ever thank them enough for that or if they even realize how much they ve meant to me but i will never forget this truly was a magical christmas for me and i hope it was just as magical for all of you i mean seriously my kids are all healthy i m actually pretty healthy as is adam sr we have everything we need what more could i ask for gratitude that s something i m going to try to be this year but we thanksgiving feast okay so there you have it an update on pictures adam has since moved onto basketball and no i didn t take pictures monday night but they did win i will take them next time aidan and avery are still loving school avery kindergarten and aidan preschool i am still crazy busy with life and trying to keep everyone healthy and don t get me started on christmas i haven t even begun to shop sad i know then there s adam sr he still lives at work and i m pretty certain that won t change anytime soon i can t think of anything funny that has happened as of late but if i do you ll be the first to know actually there is one funny thing aidan has started making up songs cute huh well let me tell you his first song it s about his big brother who he affectionately calls puma or puma socks not sure why but he does anyways the song is to the beat of the britney spears 1 2 3 song here are the lyrics 1 2 3 you re a puma crap freak let me assure you that he didn t learn that word from me in fact you will never hear me utter the c word i m embarrassed i had to write it down on my blog anyways his father and older brother are notorious for using said word so i blame them anyways i told aidan never to sing that song that way again at least not in front of family friends teachers the usual i also suggested he change the c word to snap but apparently it doesn t have the same shock adam jr 12 years old avery 4 years old and aidan 2 years old i have suffered from post partum depression with all three of my kids which is why i mentions meds in my title sadly i can t live without
