s posted by cova family 1 comment 9 months pregnant we are officially in the final stretch it s unbelievable i love looking back at hunter s ultrasound pictures and seeing his growth and development experiencing it in my tummy is a whole different incredible thing i remember the first flutter kicks then the kick boxing punches and kicks and the full circle rolls those rolls are long gone now that he is bigger and there is little room for him to move around i still feel movement though and often wonder whether it s a foot or a knee that s jabbing my side so many wonders come to mind what will he look like what color hair if any what color eyes how big will he be and how will kensley respond to him the very first time she sees him we can t wait to meet our little guy posted by cova family no comments 8 months pregnant the 8 month mark came and went like a flash actually this entire pregnancy has flown by right before my eyes i can still say that i am feeling great physically the acid reflux is still present but i realized that it seems to diminish if i drink most of my water intake in the mornings and afternoons and less at night another culprit i have tried to stay away from in the evenings is ice cream which seemed to effect me every time my sister came to visit for a week and we got a lot of things accomplished matt put together hunter s crib and dresser so the big items were taken care of niki and i put the bedding on that my mom made for him we organized books and toys washed all of his clothes and blankets and stocked up the diapers and wipes while niki was here she also did a photo shoot for us and the pictures above are only a few that she took she has an amazing eye for photography and i m so thankful she captured this special time posted by cova family no comments tuesday october 8 2013 flower girl everywhere we go kensley has to pick some flowers it doesn t matter what color or type she simply loves to pick them sometimes she will pick a few at a time and gather them together and say she has a bouquet other times she will just pick one and hand it matt or me and say it s special for us a few times she has even handed flowers to random people such as the grocery store clerk she gets the biggest smile on her face knowing she made someone happy i just love it recently we went to the park and there were rose bushes nearby i helped her pick one because of the thorns and she carried it around the playground for a long time i asked if she wanted me to hold it for her but she refused so she kept it safe in her hand as she climbed ladders and slid down the slides every once in awhile she stuck it up to her nose and took a huge sniff of the sweet scent posted by cova family no comments updates it s been awhile since the last post so here are some updates most recent first 8 months pregnant picture and journal coming soon 7 months pregnant 7 months and still no swelling woohoo at this point with kensley i was beyond swollen and not just my feet it was everywhere i m keeping my fingers crossed this trend of not swelling remains i also haven t experienced any back pain which i did with her as well overall i m feeling great i really have no complaints besides a little heart burn acid reflux every now and then but i ll take that over the aforementioned any day tums have come in handy and take care of the issue fairly quickly 6 months pregnant so far so good and passed the halfway point the braxton hick s began at the end of july between 5 and 6 months i felt the light cramping and tightness in my tummy one day then placed my hand on as an automatic response and it was hard as a rock i knew the braxton s had arrived but i didn t know i would be experiencing them so soon hunter is very active doing twists rolls kicks and punches most nights he seems to sleep when i do or at least his movements aren t as noticeable however one night i was awake for hours because it was if he was gearing up for the championship game or something it must have been something i ate earlier that night which i don t recall kensley seems to be more excited about having a little brother now one day we were going through the plethora of stuffed animals in her toy box and she picked up mickey mouse and said mommy mickey mouse is a boy i can give him to baby brother donald duck is a boy too so i can give him to baby brother too she was so proud she picked them up and brought them over to me and smiled at my tummy i m not sure sharing a lot of her toys will come easy but hey i thought it was a good start posted by cova family no comments friday july 12 2013 we chose a name hunter matthew cova due november 8 2013 initially we were torn between two names we just couldn t make up our minds which we wanted then after a couple weeks of indecisiveness we decided to go back to the drawing board we came up with another list of six names all of which we liked a lot after a couple of days of deliberation the verdict was in hunter matthew was the winner and we are anticipating his arrival very soon posted by cova family no comments monday july 8 2013 boy or girl boy or girl it s a boy we found out we are having a boy and we couldn t be more excited i know having a boy is a whole different ball game but we are looking forward to the new life only matt and i went to the appointment to find out while kensley played at a friend s house we didn t want her to find out at the doctor s office i think partially because she was so adamant about having a sister so we decided to tell her in a special way at home i covered a box with chalkboard paint wrote boy or girl on the front and enclosed it with blue balloons and a blue cake which wrote to kensley love your little bro we told kensley there was a surprise for her from the baby if it was pink she would have a sister and blue would be a brother she opened the package and her eyes lit up i m sure all because of the balloons but in the end she was so happy to have a brother she didn t mention once about it being a girl instead although now she is saying she is happy to have a brother but she also wants a sister too she says maybe next time can i have a sister posted by cova family no comments 5 months pregnant we have officially passed the halfway point it s so hard to believe it feels like this pregnancy is going by a lot faster than when i was pregnant with kensley i m sure it has to do with constantly being on the go with kensley s lessons and activities i wouldn t have it any other way though i love every day with her so the baby is well and active it feels like he she is doing martial arts in my stomach especially after i eat or after i drink ice cold water that seems to be a favorite of his hers i felt the first flutter kicks on memorial day and it felt like little butterflies flying around in there about a week or so ago the kicks were finally big enough to be felt by others so matt and kensley felt the baby in action as for me i m doing pretty well physically the heat outside has arrived and won t be going away for quite sometime which has been a little rough i ve had a few episodes where i ve felt light headed and dizzy but that s just my cue to take it easy my physical mobility has now decreased some due to the growing belly the other day i was folding laundry and dropped a couple of socks on the floor i struggled bending over to pick them up so now i don t bend from the waist i do more of a squat which is probably an awfully funny sight to see posted by cova family no comments friday june 7 2013 4 months pregnant i am now 4 months pregnant almost to the halfway mark and i am feeling pretty good my nausea is officially gone hallelujah and at this point i m not really having any major symptoms besides a few headaches every now and then and some stomach cramping from the growth i am gaining weight rather quickly and i m not one of those woman who have cute little basketball belly pregnancies nope my body likes to evenly distribute the weight all over it also probably didn t help that during most of my 1st trimester i had food aversions to vegetables fruit basically anything healthy for me instead nice hearty carbs did the trick and helped with my nausea and appetite luckily now i am passed that point and i am back to my old self of loving my fruit veggies i love being pregnant though and i wouldn t trade anything i am enjoying each day and i am looking forward to meeting our little one girl or boy it doesn t matter we are just blessed to cova family no comments wednesday may 22 2013 our new flower garden in school kensley learned about flowers and plants coming from seeds and what it takes to help them grow and bloom after those lessons a spark of interest arose in her and she really wanted to plant some she and i made a trip to the garden center and i had no idea where to start or what to buy i have never planted anything and all of the flowers i did receive orchids in particular unfortunately did not have a very long life due to my inexperience so she and i walked up and down the aisles of flowers admiring the pretty colors and different sizes and textures the one thing i did know was i wanted to buy perennials instead of annuals which only last one season perennials come back year after year as long as you handle them correctly after she and i walked around for awhile i found a knowledgeable employee to help with the process we picked out 2 flowers we loved picked out some pots potting soil miracle grow and kensley spotted a cute butterfly garden stick so we had to get it the guy explained what we needed to do answered some of my questions and then we were off on our own our gardening adventure the next day we planted our flowers and afterwards i crossed my fingers hoping i wouldn t kill them kensley absolutely loved our garden day although initially she was a bit hesitant about getting dirty in the soil she quickly got over that though we planted them weeks ago and still to this day she loves to check on the flowers every morning and give them water so they continue to grow i must also add that thankfully they are still alive and doing well the plant in the green pot bottom step now has about a dozen beautiful yellow orange red flowers she had such a great time i think we will continue to add to our little container garden posted by cova family no comments mother s day full of fun matt and kensley made this mother s day special from morning until night i woke up to breakfast they made a trip to krispy kreme doughnuts and brought home a few then matt asked kensley what they should do for me for mother s day and the only thing she insisted on was making me a cake matt responded with can we go to the store and buy a cake she said no dada we have to make the cake we will need 10 bananas 1 chocolate and 6 nuts we started laughing but then she looked at us like we were crazy for laughing it was so adorable so matt took her to the store and bought ingredients to make a cake the box kind since that was the easiest they worked hard in the kitchen and made a delicious chocolate cake with chocolate frosting they know how i love chocolate while they were baking i bought my mother s day gift some new sunglasses if you know me you know i can t be in the sun without a pair later that day kensley and i planted another flower to add to our porch container garden to finish the night off we went out to a great mexican restaurant for dinner thanks matt kensley for a wonderful mother s day posted by cova family no comments sunday may 12 2013 mommy to 1 plus 1 more being a mommy to kensley is such a blessing each day brings forth new adventures and wonderful memories she is our little girl our little princess and will always be and now i will be a mommy to a new baby bundle of joy the joy in my heart is overflowing i never imagined it possible to love another as i do my husband and daughter even though the baby isn t with us physically yet i still feel this overwhelming content matt and i couldn t believe it when we first found out i took a couple tests because i thought there was no way it could be positive sure enough they all came back the same two blue lines pregnant of course we were nervous about everything in the beginning due to my history but the dr assured us that everything looks great i am 14 wks along into the 2nd trimester and i feel great the nausea has subsided and so far i m not having any other symptoms we told kensley she will soon have a new brother or sister and from the beginning up to this day she insists it s a baby sister i m trying to prep her in case it s not but she is pretty adamant about it we will soon find out so this will be my last mother s day as a mommy of one and matt and kensley have already made the morning special posted by cova family 1 comment saturday may 11 2013 happiest place on earth we took kensley to disneyland for the first time and i have never seen her more excited in her life when we arrived the first day we spotted minnie mouse near the entrance so we stood in line and waited to meet her i saw that many of the other kids in line had autograph signing books so i asked matt to search the nearest little shop luckily they had one having all of the princesses and characters sign her book was probably one of kensley s favorite things each time we waited in line for a princess or character she opened her book to the next empty page and made a little check mark at the top and said this is where she will sign it was so cute to see her excitement she liked seeing minnie mouse but the moment we walked into the princess fair castle and saw cinderella her eyes lit up and sparkled like stars she smiled from ear to ear as cinderella welcomed her with open arms and gave her a sweet hug i will never forget the look on kensley s face we went on quite a few rides along with grandma papa and some of her favorites include the teacups dumbo the carousel and the alice wonderland dada and papa took her on the pirates of the caribbean and after a few seconds on the ride her head was tucked into matt s arm and remained that way for the majority of the time the other ride she did not like at all was mr toad s adventure the second day on our trip we split our time between california adventure and disneyland kensley got to have lunch with the princesses at ariel s grotto she was beaming with anticipation for each princess to come to our table and talk for a bit her favorite
