thinking about switching to blogger it is so much better and easier to post drawings i just never got used to using this wordpress so for all those have been keeping track of this blog i don t think i digital illustration painting turtle man seems like it s been a while since i ve posted anything so here is a turtle that i ve had in my sketch book for a while i had this idea to pick a random sketch and fully render it just for fun so i started painting it a couple of months ago i would give some attention to it every once in a while and i think i m finished with it and today i gave it some more love anyway here s some new art work to look at during your surf on the internet enjoy this is in memory of the only turtle that i had when i was younger his name was turd rip turd 11 feb 10 having paintings for fun and it s good practice to do random things but now that i look at them it looks like i used the same colors intentionally but i didn t they just happened to come out that way weird mascots painter it s 2010 holy cow i m excited for this new year it s going to be awesome i wanted to throw this final picture for the minnesota timberwolves mascot up for everyone to enjoy this was a i ve been listening to while at work these guys are amazing the blog is chiustream blogspot com this blog is full of inspiring interviews with all kinds of artists i m enjoying it 31 dec 09 a house by mrpib 1 comment categories environments tags pencil drawing perspective drawing merry christmas and happy new year i thought i would post this on the last day of 2009 this is the most recent work that i ve done it s a two point perspective pencil drawing of a house i did this for a friend this was done traditionally and not on the computer i ve learned a couple things from doing this it s very good to have photo references when doing a drawing in this case i had an excellent array of photos to look at i really need to more perspective drawings it took me way too long to figure out the perspective in this one always do your math right when starting a picture i had to do this one at least two times before i got it right but i really like this one it was a lot of fun to do and i hope you enjoy it thanks for stopping by and looking i believe wordpress said this blog has had over 4 000 hits since i ve started it so thank you to whoever is visiting this site also i have to say that 2009 was awesome i have one more year at slcc and then i can move on to something more exciting i was thinking about going to the animation program at byu or another art school somewhere i hope book page because otherwise it s not going to be seen by anybody but me and a couple of other people this is a sample page that i gave to the jazz to show them i could do a comic book it s very random and doesn t really have a story this is the first fully colored comic book page i ve created i don t think i ve spent enough time on the line work but it was still fun to do thanks to andy smith for showing me how to somewhat draw a comic book his book is really interesting i look at it almost daily 15 sep 09 big project by mrpib leave a comment categories caricature and creatures tags football mascots this is the most recent project i ve finished and it was a challenge there are 15 guys in this pic it was all done in painter x i started with a sketch on paper and then scanned it into the computer it s really hard to have 15 guys in a different pose from one another but i had fun working on it and my wife tells me i m getting faster at painting on the computer so that s good i wish i
