mrs busy b skip to main skip to sidebar mrs busy b friday 26 march 2010 card from scraps i sometimes look at challenges for inspiration with my card making i need it i saw this sketch challenge here this is my attempt from scraps of card with a few decorations and an embossing folder for the ribbon strip posted by ann 3 comments friday 12 march 2010 my first word book i printed backing papers and letters from the dreams come true cd from funky hand onto card i then printed off quotes about friends and friendship in word i cut these out with die cuts and punches decorated with liquid pearls stickles and various flowers posted by ann no comments thursday 10 december 2009 adventures in craft this is made using alcohol inks on glass and stamped images i used a simple clip frame which cost less than 1 00 it makes an inexpensive gift i used autumnal coloured alcohol inks rust butterscotch caramel ginger and terracota just a few drops of each on the felt applicator i dabbed and swirled around to get the effect i wanted i stamped the inked side of the glass it s less shiny after being inked with a leaf stamp stazon worked best this is the adventurous bit i stamped the glass on the un inked side with versamark then heat embossed with gold embossing powder it worked best on the higher heat setting i was somewhat anxious that the glass would splinter but it didn t i m pleased with the result i attached a piece of plain beige card between the glass and the backing board to cover the clips posted by ann 2 comments monday 30 november 2009 backgrounds i ve been messing about with alcohol inks crystal lacquer acetate tissue paper plus mica powders and glitters here and there i saw a demonstration by the amazingly talented sue wilson particraft on a craft programme she used autumn colours i played around with similar colours as well as pinks blues and purples i ve stamped some leaf shapes with archival ink onto the acetate these backgrounds are fun and easy to do i think even my efforts look ok here s how 1 what you need acetate plain white tissue paper crumple then unfold crystal lacquer alcohol inks in several colours mica powder in a blending colour 2 squeeze some lacquer over the acetate swirly pattern drop some of the alcohol inks into the spaces sprinkle with a small amount of mica place tissue paper over the mess pat gently with kitchen roll and leave to dry i left them overnight finally this is a blend of pink pale blue and butterscotch alcohol ink onto acetate posted by ann 2 comments monday 16 november 2009 craft links particraft really prompt service from their on line store they also have demonstrators who will hold a craft party at your home they ve a blog candy draw for the next 200 blog followers check it out sharon duncan crafts even quicker service via royal mail lovely cd s for backing papers and decoupage oysterstamps i bought my cuutlebug here ordered late on a monday received on wednesday cutting edge crafts bought cuttlebug embossing folders here ordered late on a monday received on wednesday when i order a product it s great when it arrives promptly so that i can start using it each of these companies has free p p too posted by ann no comments friday 24 july 2009 birthday card this card was a change for me i used small and large scalloped circle punches for the flower shape stamped the stem and leaves of a floral stamp liquid pearls for centre of flowers birthday greeting stamp posted by ann 1 comment wednesday 15 july 2009 stamped cards i ve been playing with some stamps i ve had for a while but not used both stamps are available at stamp addicts the stamped images are coloured with chalk ink pads all the cards use the postage stamp frame travels in india carol s cube in different colours background with the same stamp another flower card posted by ann no comments older posts home subscribe to posts atom about me ann reformed christian wife mum part time midwife the name of the blog well i m a bit of a fidget and my surname begins with the letter b i ll share hobbies here i ve always enjoyed baking and have recently discovered card making view my complete profile welcome thank you for visiting in this homely blog i ll share recipes household hints and tips and craft ideas blog archive blog archive march 2 december 1 november 2 july 2 march 6 february 2 november 1
