trip the girls and i went on a mystery trip when they stayed over on sat as we were driving i told jerzie we were going across the lake in our car but not on a bridge she said we d have to find a really big boat to do that i took them on the bemus point stow ferry that goes across chautauqua lake as you can see it has been in operation for 199 years luckily there are a group of people that do the work to keep it going and volunteers operate it it runs in the summer on weekends and the cost is any donation driving up to the ferry on the stow side here comes our ride the ferry holds nine cars at a time the operators let all the kids blow the horn and ring the bell sorry i didn t get pics of my sweeties but i was more concerned about keeping hold of payton and the trip went really fast when i was a kid this was the only way to get across the lake now we have the bridge in the background coming into bemus it was a beautiful night for a ferry ride and the girls really enjoyed it i highly recommend it if you are in the chautauqua lake area what would you do on a nice night after a ferry ride but stop for ice cream on the way home posted by jean at 8 37 am 6 comments labels
