beliefs that hurt children this makes it even harder for you to tell if a parent who lost their kid to suicide actually did good things to help or if they either did far less than the bare minimum or did bad things things like shaming and threatening a kid for being depressed in an attempt to help and observing how the parent responds to grief doesn t help because sometimes parents aren t self aware about how their actions hurt their kids meaning a parent could see their kid s suicide as out of nowhere meanwhile the kid had been trying to get help for years only to get ignored i know i have a lot of trust issues when it comes to parents that are kinda screwed up but when even the decent parental figures i know clearly value kids respecting authority over the actual wellbeing of children then it kinda makes me suspicious of all of them i ve even been in the position of mentally ill child who can t get support so it s far easier for me to sympathize with the kid who dies from suicide
