based on what we know in canon materials and word of god do you agree with that kind of portrayal personally i think he was small fry in the illegal drugs distribution arena like he was just your typical middleman runner because he made too many failed deals my headcanon for him is that he was indebted to too many dangerous people just coz he wanted to market his products honestly i don t think the commentaries or interviews really touch on what stan did during those 10 years besides from alex mentioning he had a long list of the scam products that stan sold ever since he pitched the show and that stan never felt like he was good at anything in his life until he started the mystery shack alex also said he thinks stan was arrested for something petty when he was in colombia which i ignore cos i like the heist hc lol but we do have bill describing his life as this considering the pug trafficking jokes and alex s love of breaking bad managing to get mike s actor for filbrick and wanting saul s actor to be stan s va bringing it up a bunch in general it s safe to say that stan was pretty heavily involved in drug trafficking anyway him being skilled and cunning is one thing but an obedient dog 70s stan seemed to be particularly impatient and reckless which definitely reflected in the way he ran stanco vs the mystery shack having him actually study business and put tons of effort in but also i doubt he was liked trusted enough to climb ranks personally i assumed he was a middleman in a gang for a while too but nothing too successful and the moment he got close to a briefcase full of cash any self control he had snapped and he literally just grabbed it and ran and proceeded to somehow piss off several gangs in different ways over the years but i do think a huge chunk of his debts were from gambling and losing horribly also these storyboards showing stan s tenacity of throwing shit at the wall until it sticks i m still curious where ford got this info from tbh i ve been rereading space brothers again and the phrase luck is a skill too has been stuck in my head and stan s luck sure does oscillates constantly i know some folks took the edible flour
