pet of the day every day a new pet photo and story since 1997 pet of the day com we know every pet is special monday november 18 2024 yesterday s pet of the day dog of the day cat of the day share cypher tweet support us follow petoftheday pet of the day name cypher age eight years old gender male kind nanday conure home cedar grove new jersey usa a dding cypher to my family just kind of happened i have a bad habit of going into petco just to look at the birds since i love them dearly and always enjoy watching the new babies flop around and do tricks for the passerby one day i go into petco and i saw this the bird that would be cypher just sitting there eating i had never seen a nanday conure in the petco before just green cheeks and sun conures so he immediately caught my eye what made him stand out more was his lack of interest in well anything he wasn t doing tricks he wouldn t come up to the glass heck he didn t seem to be interested in anything but his food i called an employee over and asked to see him she said he was fearful of people and while she was working with him he rarely came close to her even when coaxed with a sunflower seed now i already had a bird so i figured i would give it a try she let me try to coax him out with a sunflower seed i tried this for a few days coming back and offering him a seed he came closer to me each time until he finally stepped up onto my hand i immediately scooped him into my arms and he just sat there like a chicken resting against my chest i had never seen such a mild mannered bird i knew at that point he was so special and i had to bring him home i went back four additional times after that until i had the money to bring him home i swear he s like a gift from the heavens the vet and i thought he was sick because he is always so mellow he doesn t bite he doesn t mind people loving on him he loves to ride on shoulders and snuggle under blankets he s just such a special little soul a super snugly little eating machine with so much love to give everyone in my life gushes about cypher how he s the reason they want to get a bird of their very own how he s such a sweetheart and why can t neo be like that neo is the other bird i own he was a rescue and he only has eyes for me he can be quite aggressive so he has to be fully supervised around strangers in the spur of the moment to get away from studying i decided to post a picture of my birds on an art site i had frequented for the latter portion of a decade to my surprise cypher has been getting a lot of love even on the internet so here i want to share him with you too i m sure he d love you just as much as he loves everyone else so enjoy my littlest beeb the teddy bear like cypher talk about cypher in pet talk 1998 2024 painted turtle productions all rights reserved privacy
