leave a comment everything on earth has its own time and its own season as you grow to spiritual maturity there are several ways to cooperate with god in the process growth is often painful and scary there is no growth without change there is no change without fear or loss and there is no loss without pain every change involves a loss of some kind you must let go of old ways in order to experience the new we fear these losses even if our old ways were self defeating because like a worn out pair of shoes they were at least comfortable and familiar people often build their identity around their defects we say it s just like me to be and it s just the way i am the unconscious worry is that it i let go of my habit my hurt or my hang up who will i be this fear can definitely slow down your growth believe god is working in your life even when you don t feel it spiritual growth is sometimes tedious work one small step at a time expect gradual improvement everything on earth has its own time and its own season there are seasons in your spiritual life too sometimes you will have a short intense burst of growth springtime followed by a period of stabilizing and testing fall and winter what about those problems habits and hurts you would like miraculously removed it s fine to pray for a miracle but don t be disappointed if the answer comes through a gradual change over time a slow steady stream of water will erode the hardest rock and turn giant boulders into pebbles over time a little sprout can turn into a giant redwood tree towering 350 feet tall be patient with god and with yourself one of life s frustrations is that god s timetable is rarely the same as ours we are often in a hurry when god isn t you may feel frustrated with the seemingly slow progress you re making in life remember that god is never in a hurry but he is always on time he will use your entire lifetime to prepare you for your role in eternity how god uses a long process to develop character especially in leaders he took eighty years to prepare moses including forty in the wilderness for 14 600 days moses kept waiting and wondering is it time yet but god kept saying not yet contrary to popular book titles there are no easy steps to maturity or secrets of instant sainthood when god wants to make a mushroom he does it overnight but when he wants to make a giant oak he takes a hundred years great souls are grown through struggles and storms and seasons of suffering be patient with the process don t try to get out of anything prematurely let it do its work so you become mature and well developed remember how far you ve come not just how far you have to go you are not where you want to be but neither are you where you used to be years ago people wore a popular button with the of them consider design being an art other will immediately tell you that design has nothing to do with art at all can design become art or art become design where lies the truth who is right and who is wrong can we even answer these questions successfully let s take a closer look at both of these terms and examine them more thoroughly what is art first we will talk about art what is art and how can we define it art as itself is very broad term it includes visual art like paintings drawing sculpture printmaking design crafts fashion ceramics photography video filmmaking and architecture next are the performing arts theatre film dance music etc and we should not forget the literature all of these subjects are kinds of art and there are even more that left unnamed it looks like it has no structure like it is almost pure chaos but there is still something we can say about art art doesn t have to be functional sure you can use faberge egg as an expansive paper weight or latest dress by gucci as a floor cloth but it is not a good idea function is simply not the goal art is created for art is created to be beautiful it is created to raise and influence your emotions this is the purpose of the art to influence inspire please or frustrate it can make us happy or said art is personal critics and criticism interesting sub topic in art is criticism since art has no rules and so depends on individual taste it is hard to say what is good art and what is not sommeliers do not have these problems if some cocktail taste like crap it is a crap simple and straight forward art is different one person may like some painting or building while another dislikes it if this is possible how can any critic say what is good when critic say that something is great should you like it just because of what he said no way that would be total nonsense art is more of a personal choice it depends on your personality tastes and mood keep it that way and don t rely on anyone else what is design after talking about art let s focus on design for a while fortunately defining design the good one is much easier than in case of art design can specified by some universal rules and principles i am not talking about the principles of good design design exists to solve some problem therefore it has to serve some function this is a conclusion based on logic you cannot argue with that when someone design new device it is because the old one lacked some function or feature this way you added that particular function made an upgrade without this added function new design would have no reason to exist and people would have no reason to use it it would be forgotten see at least in this world design can exist only if it has some purpose or goal to accomplish no matter how stupid this goal is it is enough to keep it alive design is functional conclusion it all boils down to your personal preferences design has a guidelines you can follow and create something that can be called good design every time same thing cannot be said about art art is more rebellious it has no rules guides or anything like it art defines itself with every piece and every work someone create all over again it is not to say that design cannot be rebellious or unrestrained too but in many cases it will cause its dysfunction and later on its end design has a purpose to exist and it is to be functional to serve us art can exist and it does without any purpose or function do you think that the scream painting by edvard munch has any function or girl with a mandolin by pablo picasso no they exist as an
