share to facebook share to pinterest monday april 18 2016 gus discovers a chicken we had gorgeous weather for the weekend i hope you did too in an attempt to help gus have a good day without his friend we decided to go up to lincoln log cabin historical site for a walk the grass was a brilliant green and the trees are starting to get leaves and the blossoms are amazing gus was enjoying his walk i was a bit surprised he didn t react to the sheep mama sheep sure kept an eye on him the chickens sure did catch his eye though this one got a little too close to the fence gus peeked through april 15 2016 the rainbow bridge findley 2014 2016 one of the sweetest dogs i ve known crossed the bridge yesterday he started suffering seizures a couple of months ago and was on medication which didn t stop them but somewhat controlled the frequency until yesterday he had his first seizure around 11 30 a m he had 2 more while i was home for lunch i gave him a shot of valium and his dose of meds i thought they had stopped as soon as i returned to work they started again by the time we got to the vet he was up to 10 seizures and had another in the office he was unconscious and not coming out of them this time the determination was probable brain tumor so i had to let him go to stop his suffering gus is wandering around looking for his friend we are sad there is a bridge connecting heaven and earth it is called the rainbow bridge because of its many colors just this side of the rainbow bridge there is a land of meadows hills and valleys with lush green grass when a beloved pet dies the pet goes to this place there is always food and water and warm spring weather all the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by the animals are happy and content except for one small thing they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind they all run and play together but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance her bright eyes are intent her eager body begins to quiver suddenly she begins to run from the group flying over the green grass her legs carrying her faster and faster you have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet you cling together in joyous reunion the happy kisses rain upon your face your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart then
