the worst blogger ever i just haven t been crafting as much as i would like which is why i haven t been blogging terrible i know but here is a little post to show what i have done since my last post i was recently lucky to attend the first ever aall create world tour workshop at the fantastic that s crafty store i did 2 full days which was 4 workshops i met the most amazing people and loved every second of it learnt a lot of new techniques and came home with a few completed projects mdf tag tracy evans class journal pages autour de mwa s class calico panels autour de mwa s class watercolour journal page fiona paltridge s class mixed media canvas aida s class i took what i learnt from these classes and created a smaller mixed media canvas i feel i have turned a corner in terms of my abilities am always learning and evolving which makes everything worthwhile at some point i will stop holding myself back stop being so scared of making mistakes doing the wrong thing and stop thinking i m never going to be good enough because i look at what i accomplished and just how much i got from doing those workshops and i know i can do it i just need to take that leap and believe in thursday 5 april 2018 a fresh start hello blogland yes i know it s been a while between posts again this time it has been completely out of my control so far 2018 has been extremely difficult throwing me and my family more hard times than we thought possible sadly my husband and i as well as all my in laws had to say a heartbreaking goodbye to my sister in law who passed away on jan 11th a week or so later and i got a call from my father telling me he is ill and needed my help so i went up to see him and well didn t come home again until 24th of march after his funeral to say i am emotionally spent would be an understatement and i am still in the process of sorting things out but i finally took some time to play yesterday and came up with this journal page recipe art journal paper artsy die cuts hello indigoblu memento ink sizzix stamping teal monday 1 january 2018 the stampin stasher challenge 1 create your own background hello blogland happy new year i am so excited for this coming year a lot of new things are in the pipeline so watch this space the first of the new things is a brand new challenge set by the stampin stasher it is a brand new monthly challenge and a new venture for naomi who kindly invited me along for the journey thanks hun this months challenge is 1 create your own background i must admit this is one of my favourite things to do in terms of crafting as you are free to do what ever you please and have zero restrictions the technique i used i learnt from watching paperartsy videos and is one of my absolute faves below is some photo s of the process and the projects i made using the page getting started i took a 12x12 sheet of tissuestock it s a bit like tissue paper a brayer and my chalk paints i want to mention you and use any acrylic paints for this technique first layer i started off with a light colour to get a base going for additional layers to cling to i simply pour a little paint onto my mat and pick up the colour with my brayer and go over the paper it doesn t have to be neat and tidy just go with the flow second layer i simply chose another colour and went over it again filling in the gaps third layer this time i went for a contrasting colour forth layer i wasn t certain about the last colour so went for a deeper tone i continued to use the same colours in rotation until i was happy with it i added an extra colour limelight to pick up the green a little more getting ready for the next part out came my background stamps and archival inks these are the best ink pads to use when stamping on a painted background chalk paint challenge mixed media paint stamping technique thursday 7 december 2017 christmas wreath hi blogland i want to share with you something i ve been saying for years i wanted to give a go and i finally did it an altered christmas wreath i bought a tinsel wreath and baubles from a local poundshop and got out my trusty glue gun and got busy an hour and a few swear words from burnt fingers later the finished wreath hope you like it leave me a comment below i am happy with the result for a first attempt and intend to make a few more next year not convinced i have the time right now i
