wicked ways i will hear from heaven and i will forgive their sin and heal their land 15 now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place see 2 chronicles 7 14 jesus knew we would face a lot when he prayed for us he asked the father to hear and forgive the people our job is to pray in faith god hears us and wants to help us a blessed church prays for the church to be blessed we should be a people of prayer god wants us to come to him we all need him because we all sin and prayer is essential not only as believers but as the church the people of god we are asked to seek the lord s face in prayer when we do we get to know jesus and better understand his will praying on behalf of others opens the door for god to work in their lives we can pray in faith and trust that he hears and answers a close relationship with jesus we can be as close to jesus as we want to because of what he did for us we can pray any time we serve a faithful god who hears our prayers we may not see the answer as soon as we d like but god is faithful and his timing is perfect because he knows what s best for us we are called to be devoted to prayer with a faithful heart see col 4 2 4 eph 6 18 20 reminds us to pray for believers sinners and in this case paul and his ministry today we have the same calling to pray for those in leadership and ministry confession unity and evangelism james talks about confessing our sins to one another when we do so we can pray and ask for forgiveness for our sins praying with others develops unity in the body of christ confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results james 5 16 nlt praying moves the hand of god and makes room for him to work in our lives and the lives of others praying for those who don t know him or have wandered is effective and can bring them back into a relationship with the father lord to help me and he turned to me and heard my cry he lifted me out of the pit of despair out of the mud and the mire he set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as i walked along he has given me a new song a hymn of praise to our god many will see what he has done and be amazed they will put their trust in the lord psalm 40 1 3 the lord hears us as we pray and cry out to him he is our solid ground keeps us steady and strengthens us god is always faithful and we show gratitude and appreciation when we tell of his goodness and provision 1 waiting patiently for the lord s help i waited patiently for the lord to help me and he turned to me and heard my cry walking in faith often involves waiting periods where jesus may test our hearts and our patience is being refined the psalmist beautifully captures the essence of trusting in god s timing in the waiting we learn to rely on his promises and find peace in the knowledge that he hears our cries god s steadfast love and faithfulness work in our lives as we seek and praise him as we pray for his guidance and study his word we learn to pray against the schemes of those who would bring us down and gloat over our faithfulness 2 lifted from the pit of despair he lifted me out of the pit of despair out of the mud and the mire he set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as i walked along the image of being lifted from the pit of despair is a powerful metaphor for god s deliverance in times of darkness and hopelessness the lord reaches down pulls us out of the hole we found ourselves in and places us on a firm foundation the stability provided by god s grace becomes the solid ground on which we can confidently walk 3 a new song of praise he has given me a new song a hymn of praise to our god many will see what he has done and be amazed they will put their trust in the lord the transformation from despair to deliverance sparks a newfound song of praise within one s heart this hymn of praise not only acknowledges god s faithfulness but also serves as a testimony for others many will witness the remarkable works of the lord and in turn place their trust in him we speak of his faithfulness and don t conceal our love for him but confidently share it with others we are the hands and feet of jesus on this earth we are his ambassadors and should encourage others to seek and know him jesus is our ultimate help he deliverers us and is the source of our strength in waiting times when we call out to him he lifts our burdens in moments of discouragement we find comfort in the assurance that our lord hears our cries lifts us and sets us on a path of steadfast faith our lives become hymns of praise inviting others to witness the transformative power of jesus our help and deliverer with a song of praise in our mouths we are blessed when our trust is in him and we don t follow the ways of the proud and go astray his instructions are written in our hearts jesus cares for us and nothing can compare with his wondrous deeds as we draw closer to him doing his will is a delight because he loves us and we love him he wants us to seek and find him daily in everything we do for everyone who knocks the door will be opened power in prayer seeking the lord there s power in prayer as we seek the lord and invite him into our lives and situations we can be confident that our petitions are heard and answered asking is an act of faith a recognition god is ready to respond to our needs and desires because we love him and want to build our relationship with him we often find ourselves facing challenges and uncertainties we are invited to bring these concerns before the lord trusting that our requests will not be ignored it s a call to a relationship of trust and openness knowing that asking is essential in receiving the blessings meant for us seeking with purpose life is full of twists and turns the act of seeking implies a deliberate pursuit of understanding guidance and fulfillment we are encouraged to intentionally seek the lord knowing that those who actively do so will ultimately find him he will lead guide and comfort us in a world often marked by distractions and noise seeking the lord requires a dedicated effort to connect with jesus who loves us immensely whether seeking wisdom purpose or peace matthew 7 reminds us that our answers are within reach because god is faithful knocking with persistence and to the one who knocks the door will be opened knocking implies an ongoing effort a refusal to be deterred by obstacles or delays it s a determination to break through barriers and access the blessings of the lord life often presents us with closed doors challenges and setbacks but we can approach these obstacles with a spirit of perseverance when faced with adversity knocking expresses our unwavering faith and determination the promise that jesus opens the door for us we are reminded that in due time our persistence will be rewarded this metaphor of knocking on a door symbolizes approaching god and seeking entrance into his presence we have the assurance that jesus opens the door for those who persistently seek him seeking the lord is purposeful the power of asking seeking and knocking brings us closer to jesus he is the one who fulfills our every need we have confidence in knowing that the lord hears us our
