timeless treasures and more handcrafted originals and exceptional estate sale finds are my passions monday october 27 2025 vintage inspired putz houses i was lucky enough to answer an ad on our local facebook marketplace and snag 4 vintage inspired holiday houses that needed some up cycling and even though its halloween and i did do a bit of fall decorating mostly because we were expecting a couple of sets of out of town guests here s the wreath i made for our front porch i was anxious to get started on the holiday houses and i had another christmas creation swirling around in my head so i brought down my tub of christmas crafting supplies from the attic and got started i thought the pink sushi wrap paper would work perfect for the icicles dripping of the roof top the other 3 are in more i have been busy in my studio working on some halloween crafty projects took some dolls i had that were in need of repair and up cycled them into something for halloween i recently found this old antique doll house and it seemed the perfect back drop for photos hey it just might be haunted and then i decided why not display them all under one large cloche so right now thats where they are on my dining room table i havent done much else related to halloween just yet but if the weather cools down i just might get more inspired i think we still have plenty of time before october 31st to get it on just about anything these are some random pink things around my home i love creating crafts using pink colored crepe paper and chenille stems to make mini baskets when i take my walks i usually stop and take pictures of pink flowers even my daughters got me figured out she gifted me pink ugg short boots any other pink lovers out there and if so whats your favorite pink thing you own posted by diane mars at 6 56 am 2 comments sunday july 27 2025 rescue old forgotten toys lost and found a few weeks ago i was helping a friend of mine go through some boxes that had been put away in a garage years ago tucked high on some shelves and that was that and with the boxes was a old rusted doll trunk we opened it and this is what we found in all honesty they seemed hopeless like i said definitely forgotten i thought possibly good for a halloween display but then after a few days once i took another look i thought to myself just maybe a few of these could be cleaned up rescued and re homed was i crazy well i started washing them giving each a bath and saved these 5 and they are currently looking for a new home these two survivors from the 1950 s i just didnt have the heart to have them end up in a dump they lasted this long maybe someone out in cyber world is looking to find a look a like doll she had years ago i wasn t sure what to do with their hair so i gave each one a braid and added a ribbon this one most definitely sooooooo close to being trashed an old drug store 5 and dime doll well here she is ready to be added to one of my vintage inspired creations of course shes not perfect but none of them are put they are perfectly sweet enough to loved once again i hope when your out in the wild and run into a lost and forgotten toy you re think throwing it out and just maybe collectible linens embroidered linens seems to be a lost art i recently was gifted a couple of bags of vintage linens looking through them i was amazed at all the beautiful designs and just how different each piece is there are lots of matching pillowcases with tatting also added to the edges and a lot of table or dresser runners again such a variety of designs in one of the bas this mid century linen kitchen tea towel and signed by the artist which sent me on a bit of a social media hunt and which i came to find out pat was a artist started her career in the late 50 s and did illustrations for a vast amount of children s books if you have some spare time look her up this beauty an irish tea towel that has never been used and yes pink its always a favorite i hope you have enjoyed my little share its really amazing to think all of these were hand stitched i guess it could be a cool thing to do while sitting and watching tv at night let me know if you actually do this
