record my bicycle head light is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters this was one of the selling points that the sales guy helpfully pointed out this was the clincher this was the feature that made me buy the light there and then as i cycle to work i can now go via sydney harbour and my bike light will still work so handy considering the vast amount of underwater cycling i do awesome xox eve xox happened since we last spoke 2012 13 was a crappy year for me it kinda went like this july august relationship ends december i m told my employment will cease as of 1 february 4 february my father dies and so began 2013 i was a total mess and to be honest i m only just finding my feet anyway i now have a great new job with an amazing group of people doing good things for others i ve just thursday 17 november 2011 new painting two cars 2011 new painting two cars 2011 detail i m bored i m the chairman of the board i am at work i am sitting at my desk and i am plotting how i can get out of here and head home in order to snatch some quality rest time before i have to hit the gym tonight ok so maybe that sentence was just a way for me to sound all fit and healthy and stuff which i am not or maybe it was a chance for me to sound like other normal people like i am doing things that normal people do is there a point well yes yes there is but it is hidden so deeply in the subtext and my subconscious that i dare not let it see the light of day let alone the internet but i digress what was i saying i am bored yes but also excited to be able to post i sent the it department an email saying that there was something wrong with my computer that i could not access web sites and that some of the links were blocked etc etc i even went so far as to say that i could not access facebook one of our departments has a facebook page so it was a legitimate request i received a nice email a few days later telling me that they had fixed the problem and could i please check to see that it was all fixed my cunning plan had succeeded my thinking was that if they allowed me to access facebook then everything else would become accessible too so here i am previously when i went to my blog squirrel at 3 36 pm 4 comments labels drawings things that make me happy xox eve xox sunday 21 august 2011 i had a dream in february 2010 i awoke and immediately began looking for my sketch book and a pencil i drew the image i had seen in my dream i made notes on the materials used and included every detail i had seen i then proceeded to talk about it for days weeks afterwards i sought out the materials needed that beautiful origami paper received as part of a christmas gift an a3 piece of thick black card a white chalk pencil glue and other bits and bobs all these things i placed in a plastic bag stored them in a dresser draw and promtly proceeded to procrastinate about getting around to actually creating the dream picture that is of course until today today i fished out the plastic bag and my sketches and did it it s a strange image it reminds me of slave ship pictures you see in history books and on documentaries except with a comic book japanese zombie twist if you know what i mean i forgot to take a photo of it prior to framing it so the image above is not that great although you do get quite a good view of my self portrait reflected in the glass i ll take a better picture soon and add it here another day just for the record well that s my news oh except to say that i found an app that let s me blog and add images all from my eye phone how s that for since i have posted anything new and for that i appologise i have been busy since last october i have been working in local government doing a job that i really love with some of the finest people i have ever met i am learning everyday about my community and about myself too i have missed this blog terribly and all the friends i made along the way i still keep in touch with at least one of you over at bookface you know who you are but i have often wondered what became of you all with no internet at home and a workplace internet policy that either won t allow me to see your sites or sign into my own i have finally resorted to typing this post up on my iphone even then i am having to type it in the edit html section and it seems i am unable to upload images but hey at least i m here now and i ll try in future to add something at least once a month at least well that just sucks i tried once again to add an image and it won t let me boo blogger boo i say well now that the inconvenient store across the road has nice shiney puters i will wait till another day and attempt to add some more visual content for your viewing pleasure see how i used the inverted commas just then that was highlight how how um i m trying to think of a word that is universally understood but the best word i can think of is wanky which has a similar meaning to tosser when used in its non pat died she was friends with my mum and dad and she knew me from the day i was born she was born in australia but lived in london for most of her life every summer from as early as i can remember pat stayed with us in sydney escaping the london winter she would arrive and fill our house with her beautiful spirit when i was in fourth class she helped me to colour in some pictures i had drawn for a social studies project i watched as she carefully sharpened the pencil and then licked it before she started colouring she explained that licking the pencil made the colour more vivid i thought that she was the best colour in er ra i had ever seen we would swim in the pool and drive to the beach afterwards we would shower and we would stand in front of the bathroom mirror and apply moisturiser to our skin and she would comb my hair she showed me all the exciting bottles and jars that dwelled within her toiletries bag she sprayed me with perfume and put my hair in french plaits she was beautiful glamorous and exotic and almost six feet tall with long blonde hair and a fantastic smile i was a lonely child when she was around pat was my friend she listened to me and talked with me she would reach out as i walked by and pull me in for a squeeze last month pat was in australia and we had dinner together and talked about her friend my mother who had recently died she comforted me and we laughed and shared stories and memories pat died she fell down the stairs of her home in london she hit her head and there was nothing they could do to save her i will miss her even though she
