the sewell family chronicles skip to main skip to sidebar the sewell family chronicles bob rebecca evan and kate sunday october 12 2008 here fishie fishie the 9 th and 10 th of october was evan s fall break from school so we decided to go camping at forest lakes which is north of payson arizona it was a beautiful drive and nice to get out of the heat we even saw some trees changing color which is not that big of a deal for the rest of the country but when you are used to seeing cactus and palm trees it nice to see the change this time of year evan caught his first fish and kate and i enjoyed the beautiful surroundings i love the diversity in arizona one minute you are in the desert and in 2 hours you can be in the tall pines posted by rebecca at 1 55 pm 0 comments thursday september 18 2008 soccer guy evan is so fun he has a lot of passion for life this picture is from his first soccer game of the season as you can tell he is excited to play posted by rebecca at 3 43 pm 2 comments thursday september 11 2008 short but sweet a lot has happened since the last time i posted so here is what we have been up to in a nutshell evan had his 5th birthday and started kindergarten and soccer kate is now going to preschool and will start ballet again in a few months i am blessed to be able to help at evan s school on mondays with reading and then on wednesdays with art class i am also the assistant coach for evan s soccer team i love being able to have the time to be so involved even if it is a little crazy at times here are a few pictures from the first day of kindergarten and preschool and evan s birthday party at the phoenix zoo we love the phoenix zoo because they have a splash park a carousel and a lot of interesting animals posted by rebecca at 9 21 am 0 comments friday july 18 2008 our vacation to newport beach california was so much fun what is not to love the average temperature was 75 80 degrees we went to the beach almost every day in mesa it is 112 degrees which is well just too hot in mesa if your not in the pool you need to find things to do inside bob was with us in newport over the fourth of july weekend and then he left to go deep sea fishing with his brother and two of our nephews it was nice to see him relax i don t think he has taken time off since before law school on our last day we went to the huntington library art collections and botanical gardens it is one of my favorite places to visit the library collections include rare books and manuscripts principally in the areas of british and american history and literature 15th century european books history of science maritime history and renaissance exploration and cartography altogether there are about seven million items available for research wow the art collection has some of the finest examples of full length 18th century british portraits to be found outside of britain and provides an unrivaled opportunity to study british art the kids were amused the blue boy by gainsborough and the pinkie by lawrence kate especially liked pinkie but evan s favorite was a painting of a volcano i did not expect the kids to like the art collection however i was pleasantly surprised with how much they enjoyed it the botanical gardens span nearly 120 acres with approximately 15 000 kinds of plants from all over the world there are also a series of theme gardens we were definitely enriched and educated after our visit i asked evan and kate what their favorite part of our visit was and kate said i like the painting referring to pinkie and evan said the children s garden now we just have to get over our post vacation blues and plan our next trip posted by rebecca at 6 11 pm 0 comments thursday june 12 2008 kate is cute this photo was taken in our backyard i love the purple bush behind her posted by rebecca at 10 03 am 1 comments wednesday june 4 2008 posted by rebecca at 11 48 pm 0 comments there is nothing better than summer days by the pool posted by rebecca at 11 40 pm 0 comments older posts home subscribe to posts atom blog archive october 1 september 2 july 1 june 5 march 1
