eze coz it s actually a lazy man s game haha i think i was so tired from the walk we had that there was a moment that i snoozed while sitting infront of one of the slots machines haha good thing nobody really cared or no one bothered to confront me that sleeping is not allowed even if there were a lot of cctv cameras haha or maybe it was just me being paranoid hehe we had lunch at rasapura masters a foodcourt inside marina bay sands integrated resort i had a hearty lunch from hakka yong tau foo yong tau foo is a clear consomme soup containing a varied selection of food items like fish balls eggplant lettuce bittergourds bellpeppers even choices of fish or meat products the dish can be eaten by itself served with a bowl of steamed rice or with any choice of egg or rice noodles or bee hoon rice vermicelli another variation of this dish is to serve it with laksa gravy or curry sauce essential accompaniments are spicy vinegary chili sauce similar to indonesian sambal oelek and a distinctive brown sweet bean sauce or hoisin sauce for dipping below you can see that there s an ice skating rink and a gondola inside the mall ain t that awesome d 10th stop marina bay sands skypark i m an adventure lover and i dream of doing bungee jumping and skydiving someday but when i got at the top of the skypark i didn t expect to have my knees shaking i guess i just had this weird feeling that the structure isn t stable and that anytime it could fall so i was a bit nervous being 200 meters above the ground but i survived whew here s a night view of the city from the skypark what a woke up early so i could arrive in time for my flight at 6 25 in the morning i think i dozed off for about an hour or so already when i was awakened by the voice of the stewardess as she announced that they were selling food and items on board they re expensive one 500 ml mineral water bottle for p150 i think i would have myself get dehydrated first before i would buy from them haha i gazed at the airplane window and i was awed by the beauty of the nearby clouds i was reminded of my science lessons in elementary about the common types of clouds cirrus cumulus nimbus and stratus it seems like it was just yesterday and now there i was feeling amazed by the fact that i was travelling abroad by myself for the first time i was fortunate enough to meet mr bert and mrs lilian soriano my seatmates during my 5j 801 flight bound for singapore mrs soriano was kind enough to lend me a pen so i could fill in my disembarkation embarkation d e card because i failed to bring one since i checked in all seemingly sharp objects together with my luggage from my little chat with mrs soriano i learned that they already have a son who graduated from up pgh and is now working as a palliative medicine consultant in massachusetts and that they are going to have a 4 day vacation in singapore it was nice that i was able to have someone to talk to during that 3 1 2 hour flight hehe i was browsing through a magazine when i heard another passenger who just bought a souvenir item from the duty free goods being sold on the plane say pati ba naman plastic wala i gave him a pity look because i completely understood his sentiment upon landing at changi international airport we were instructed to remain in our seats as the plane parks at the budget terminal mrs soriano smirked and said baka tayo pa ang kumuha ng sarili nating luggage sa ilalim ng eroplano budget lang kasi i laughed at her comment i like that she can be sweet and sarcastically funny at the same time i bid them goodbye as i proceeded to the arrival area i was waiting for my luggage when i realized i left something inside the plane yung french baker na monay na pinapadala nina tito felix kay papa i thought hay naku sweet pasaway ka talaga makakalimutin i think i was too excited to get out of the plane that i forgot how many things i was carrying i was trying to keep myself calm thinking how i would retrieve the pasalubong i left then i looked around and was relieved to see a lost and found area just a few meters from where i was standing i do have an angel hehe i talked to the personnel at the booth and he asked me about my missing item and my seat no lo and behold i was able to get back the lost monay hahaha my friend ate jaclyn endiafe was already waiting for me outside she thought i was being held up by the immigration and i told her about what happened that it s just the case of the missing monay hehe we proceeded at terminal 2 to meet ate precious gomez and we had lunch at swensen s i don t know if i was just tired but i think i barely talked while we were having lunch but it was so much fun hearing stories from ate jac ate prec about their lives in singapore while i was listening to them i could recall how vibrant our late night chats were when we were still staying at mdr foodhouse dorm during our college days oh how i ve missed those days and these beautiful brilliant people i was blessed to meet back then i remember ate prec would wake me up because i was often sleeping instead of studying the narcoleptic in me will always prevail haha i would joke that i was taking up bs in nursing and major in sleeping hehe but i thank god that i was still able to graduate as a regular student in upcn despite my sleepy head for lunch i ate baked mushroom rice while ate prec had baked chicken rice and ate jac ate a huge burger with fries yum yum after lunch we proceeded to ate jac s place in pandan valley so i could leave my stuff before they accompany me for a city tour so many places to go to yipee one of the things i really admire in sg is their infrastructure their railways and mass transit systems are superb and almost everything seems to be in order 1st stop orchard road most of the shopping centers are located here lucky plaza is known to be the hanging out place of filipinos particularly of ocws every sunday take a closer look above lower left side and appreciate the beauty of a prominent linea alba and rectus abdominis muscles gorgeous isn t it hahaha 2nd stop chijmes a historic building complex which was previously a catholic convent but is now a dining shopping and entertainment centre the cathay with 8 cinema halls inside raffles hotel opened in 1899 named after singapore s founder sir stamford raffles and city tower we rode the smrt train going to marina bay when i noticed a signage 5 more things you didn t know 1 it is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open i am quite aware of this one already hehe 2 it would take a car travelling at 100 mph more than 29 million years to reach the nearest star 3 a goldfish has a memory span of 3 seconds i wonder how they tested for this one haha 4 a cockroach can survive more than a 2010 gone with the wind a dry crispy leaf being blown away by the cool breeze it may sound nice like an epic scene in a beautiful movie but it s actually quite the opposite for me i don t know why but it is what covers me now i feel sad and lost and what s more difficult for me is that i am not sure of the reason it s like that leaf unaware of where the air might take it but fully conscious of its weakness just following the course of the wind in the midst of my misery i know i am not alone i know that god loves me and there are people who care i just can t help how i feel right now i could not imagine what some of the bible characters had to go through one example is job how can one still give praise after everything has been taken away tears are running down my cheeks right now as i listen to casting crowns song praise you in the storm it says and though my heart is torn i will praise you in the storm it scares the crap out of me not knowing what lies ahead or whether or not i ll end up anything here i ve been very busy with my junior internship i have a lot of blessings to be thankful for and i also have my own sorrows to share at this point i don t know exactly what i want to post i am not sure what i feel right now i just turned 23 and i was able to feel both happy and sad on my birthday what can i say the perplexities of life can sometimes get the best of you i still try not to be affected people may deny it but it really becomes difficult when it comes to dealing with matters of the heart if a certain close friend of mine would know what i m going through right now the words i told you so would easily come to mind my friend is right i am not helping myself the more i keep denying the truth the more i will just get hurt i know i should not care much more than i should but i just could not stop that s why i feel pain right now emotional pain is worse than physical pain because physical pain could possibly be alleviated by mere intake of nsaids or cox 2 inhibitors but emotional pain takes a whole lot of process the pain could last for months or even years i am reminded of the movie my bestfriend s wedding and george s line when julianne was running friday february 13 2009 singing band at uermmmc hospital it s not really a band because i went alone but i can t think of any other title for this post anyway every saturday my churchmates and i would often visit selected patients at manila adventist medical center to sing read a bible verse and pray for them we call it a singing band ministry you can visit http adventistchurch multiply com to see the other ministries or activities we have in church this time i decided to do it at uermmmc hospital in my previous post the power of prayer i was inspired with what happened so i wanted to do more for the lord i am not really the best singer and i still have a lot to learn in playing the guitar i am poor in strumming but i know the little that i have can be made great by god before starting my new ministry i stayed near the pharmacology microbiology departments at the jmc building to practice a bit then i prayed i asked the lord to be my guide i also prayed for the patients that i ll visit that there hearts will be touched by god and that they will feel blessed then i went to the 4th floor pay ward of the hospital and began an amazing experience the first person i visited was brother nap his wife was with him in the room i was about to sing when 2 people a guy a girl entered the room and saw me the guy seems familiar to me and if i m not mistaken he also works at uerm he smiled and said kakantahan mo siya i sheepishly replied opo then i started singing after i sang i said ipagppray ko lang po si bro nap then the guy said isa lang kakantahin mo pwede pang isa i was taken aback for a while but good thing i was able to prepare 2 songs for that day actually i can only play 3 religious songs in the guitar 2 songs was taught to me by our helper and the other 1 is my own composition hehe i smiled and said o cge po after i sang the 2nd song entitled you are my lord bro nap clapped i was happy seeing him smile then i prayed for him as i was bidding goodbye the wife said pinaiyak mo naman ako i said naku pasensiya na po god bless you po she replied teary eyed salamat ha before leaving the room i thanked them for allowing me to do the visit there were actually patients who refused when i told them that i wanted to sing 1 reason was the patient was about to be discharged and in another room the relative said that the patient won t be able to hear it anyway and pray for them but it did not dampen my spirit i think i was able to visit about 7 patients the most memorable was tatay marcelino he is a blind man but his hearing is superb and his personality is even more remarkable when i mentioned that i was going to sing and pray for him he said sige gustong gusto ko yan before i sang i read a bible verse from philippians 4 6 7 which says do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to god and the peace of god which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through christ jesus ang ganda tatay marcelino said then i proceeded with my song there is a part in the lyrics of the song that goes like this allelujah allelujah allelujah as i was singing that part tatay marcelino was also singing with me it was a very heart warming moment i became teary eyed i tried not to make it obvious to tatay but i actually felt my voice shake a bit as i was singing still i went on with full conviction my heart was filled with so much joy because there i was with a very optimistic man despite his condition and we were both giving praise to the lord i hope i could somehow be like him someone who is always able to see the light amidst a dark world before i began this ministry my intention was to touch the lives of the patients that i ll visit instead i we just had our 5th long examinations and it was nerve wracking even though it was over i didn t feel relieved after the week ended because i was not confident about the results but god amazing as he always is has his ways of reminding me that i am not alone last friday evening this bible verse was mentioned by the indonesian speaker during the vesper service be strong and of good courage and do it fear not nor be dismayed for the lord god will be with thee he will not fail thee nor forsake thee until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the lord 1 chronicles 28 20 it touched my heart so deeply i felt that god was talking to me making me this promise that i need not fret because he ll be with me through medical school it is just so humbling to be loved by god even though i often feel so unworthy i just hope and pray that in my own little way i could be of service to him through the medical field and be able to give back all the glory honor and praise to
