shabby french for me april 2011 shabby french for me a love for all things shabby and chippy salvaged and french tattered and worn pink simple beauty friday april 29 2011 photo feature friday a rosy note pink hello friends my sweet friend tricia is having her 3rd photo feature friday the theme this week is pink so i decided to take some photo of the pink flowers i have left over from easter the photos were taken in my kitchen nook where we love to sit and have coffee and talk about our day it is a cozy space that i immediately fell in love with when we bought our house my friends and i love to visit in here and browse thru our favorite decorating magazines maybe someday i will have you over for coffee have a beautiful day i don t have a very fancy camera just a basic point and shoot so i really love using picnik to enhance my photos hopefully one day i will get a better camera but until then i do what i can with what i have i used http www picnik com to edit my photos 1 i lightened the exposure 2 used hdr ish 3 used matte 4 used the 1960 s feature and adjusted the shade i love using picnik and it is free unless you want to upgrade i am linking this post to hugs rachel posted by day after easter easter eggs that my sons made still on display on our mantel our chalkboard with an easter message flowers that i clipped from my yard and sprinkled them in various little pots and vases around our house everything looks so pretty from easter that i dont want to put away the eggs or flowers just yet we had a wonderful easter at our house lots of friends and family 22 luckily my husband made another table we had alot of compliments on the table my husband made out of our old fence previous post my sister in law and a family friend have already requested a table my husband was surprised by how many of you contacted me in regards to him making a table for you too thank you for all of the nice comments i hope your easter was just as wonderful surrounded by friends and family my table for our easter dinner i clipped some flowers from my yard and then just put them in simple mason jars the antique silverware is a family heirloom passed down to me the white scalloped plates and serving ware are my everyday dishes from tj maxx i think everything is coming together nicely simple yet pretty now i just need to set the table with napkins etc and put some more flowers in old jars i will also be adding some tea light candles for a soft glow my sons made these adorable easter cupcakes today they are delicious i hope you have a beautiful day xo rachel an easter prayer by this chippy white farm table when i was gone antique shopping with a friend he was busy working on this table i had no idea he was making it we had discussed that we really needed another table for easter sunday since our pine farm table is too small i was completely at a loss for words when he showed it to me he made it out of our old chippy white fence that he tore down last year i still can t believe how sweet and creative it was for him to make it and it was free except for some nails and etc i had no idea my husband could be so green it isn t perfect which makes it perfect to me and received a special surprise in the mail my new friend jane sent me a lovely antique white french linen flora doora jane has a beautiful blog http www floradoora blogspot com and a wonderful etsy shop where she sells her handmade flora dooras in a variety of french tickings french linens and vintage fabrics her flora dooras even sell in a shop in france flora doora i love my flora doora i love the simplicity of the antique french white linen it is lined for waterproofing so you can put fresh cut flowers and water inside thank you so much jane for such a beautiful flora doora i can t wait to fill it with seasonal flowers i just filled mine with some babys breath and some coffee berries i love the bright pop of color from the coffee berries and they are inexpensive which i like too i added a little pop of color to my mantel vignette with just a little snip of the coffee berries i like the simplicity fyi white enamel pitchers are from ikea here is what my mantel looks like right now simple and white with a little bit of color from the babys breath and coffee berries i like to write the different seasons on my chalkboard i made the chalkboard a few years ago out of a vintage what my furry babies looked like when i went downstairs this morning how cute are they lol cash was snoring so loud that i was surprised claire could stand being so close to him i just love animals on another note i decided to add a glass cloche and cake stand fyi purchased at target to my romantic farmhouse vignette that i posted about on friday fridays post i think having the cloche and cake new issue of romantic homes magazine i have to say this is probably my favorite issue and i have seen alot of issues it is full of romantic farmhouse inspiration i just wanted to mention that laura from the blog 52flea had her beautiful blog feautured in this issue and also rozmeen from the lovely blog pastels and whites was featured congrats laura and rozmeen i got inspired to change up my vignette on my farm table a little zinc flower pot from white flower farmhouse and my favorite etched glass and ironstone pieces also a lavender sachet from dreamy whites i like my decor to be romantic yet simple and farmhouse inspired my dining room reflected through an old mirror in my living room i love the chandelier in the reflection a little rustic with a little romantic i hope you
